Loved the location. Diana and John were extremely friendly and hospitable. Charming country residence with more than ample accomodation and a good range of activity options, weather permitting. Excellent food.
a lovely place to stay and charming proprietors
too isolated as I was on a business trip, but would consider for a leisure break
The couple run this B&B were highly hospitable and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Peace and quiet all evening. House is full of character.
When we arrived our room contained at least two dozen flies (I think the window had been left open). The harmony of buzzes was very irritating. However, the lady kindly made us tea while she swiftly dealt with the problem.
Room was lovely and clean and the staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was great and the views the B&B stunning. Swimming pool a great extra.
Bit tricky to find at first, not sure I'd be confident enough to drive up the lanes in the winter.
The owners were so friendly and welcoming. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was superb. The breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
Location- beautiful, peaceful, away from everything. Food excellent - friendly staff. Best place we have ever stayed in.
There was nothing to dislike unless you wanted to be in the middle of a town- which we didn't.
Peace and quiet
Poor signing once off main road
The warm welcome, the wonderful Georgian farmhouse features and the tranquil setting, with sloping lawns overlooking beautiful woods and fields. Our room was charming, with gorgeous views, a window seat, a multitude of books to browse through, and a divine feather duvet, beautifully clean and fresh, giving us one of the best night's sleep for a long time. Lovely breakfast too! We intend to return with friends, and can't recommend it highly enough.
There was no fault we could find.
Lovely welcome, nothing too much trouble. Great breakfast, wonderful location.
The farmhouse is located about a mile from Roadwater along a very narrow lane. This may be a problem if you aren't a confident driver.
Had a lovely time here. So quiet and peaceful. Literally feels like the whole world has slipped away and you can enjoy your own time. Staff are so polite and helpful, couldn't do enough for us.
Getting to the venue was a bit treacherous. Finding the turn to the venue took some doing. The small roads are hazardous for inexperienced drivers. Many blind turns and no lights to show the way.
Nice and peacful , you could be miles from any where, lots of nice hill walks
No lock on bedroom Door
We loved how friendly the family were, how genuinely welcoming the atmosphere was, and how relaxed all the guests seemed to be. Being welcomed with a pot of tea and some cake after a four hour drive makes such a big difference to your day, and even though it is a long drive down a windy country lane, it wasn't in any way inconvenient to walk in to town to grab a pub dinner. Wood Advent Farm is beautiful, it is peaceful, quiet and refreshing - and we were only staying there as a stop-off between two destinations! Had we known just how lovely the location was and how helpful the staff were when we were booking, I dare say we would have opted to stay longer. Simply sublime.
The only thing to be wary of is the distance you have to travel to get away from the Farm in to town, or main roads. Not a problem if you are there to relax - in fact it hugely aides that - but if you are intending on venturing out, be prepared for a bit of a drive.
Excellent location in the middle of nowhere with very kind and very friendly staff.
Location Grounds Quirkiness of the layout Pretty much everything
Was a bit tricky to find,
A tranquil location with plenty of open space and hiking options. Made very welcome Lovely breakfast and afternoon tea. The small swimming pool was a bonus.
No phone signal, but as there was wi-fi and I came away to get away, this really wasn't a problem.
We liked almost everything! The room was spacious and the bathroom large and very well appointed. The friendliness and helpfulness of John and Diana could hardly have been better. They even marked my wife's birthday with a card and box of chocs - and insisted on driving us to and from the local pub for the birthday dinner! Tea was always offered on the sunny terrace in the afternoon. We did not sample the pool. The gardens are spacious and beautiful. All very peaceful.
Some of the local lanes are very narrow and passing places well spaced out. Unfortunately the council had been late cutting the hedges this summer, which made things worse. However, hedging was done while we were there and it made all the difference. The best access is via Roadwater village; this keeps the narrow part down to about a mile.
Lovely setting, room tastefully decorated and comfy, food fresh and tasty
The guest house is a farmhouse full of charm and character in a wonderful peaceful location. You can relax in a beautiful garden. Breakfasts were of the highest quality You are made to feel very welcome. Plenty of literature and maps for those interested in walking in the National Park
The approach roads to the farm are very narrow and meeting cars travelling in the opposite direction may well tax you reversing skills, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment of the holiday.
Beautiful House Lovely and friendly staff Gorgeous Rooms Stunning views and surrounding area Perfect breakfast
Would have been difficult to find if we had not had a sat nav
Great location great hosts
The location, beautiful grounds, rooms and furnishings, swimming pool.
The room was at the front of the house which had a wonderful view of the garden. A warm welcome and accommodating hosts.
Felt very welcome from the moment we met the owners. The tea and cake on arrival was a plus. The rooms were lovely and spacious.
Great house, nice people.
Trying to find farm even with sat nav & would have liked a separate shower other than one in the bath.
very welcoming and Diane serves the best breakfasts I have ever tasted! We loved the house, and the area,- and my husband caught fish ( an added bonus)
It was quite difficult to find. We would have appreciated a better map!
