the room/s were just what we needed we loved the grounds and wished we had more time to explore The staff in the kitchen were even happy to look after the recyclables and food scraps I had been collecting in transit - I knew they would do the right thing with them
that we had only booked one night and didn't have much time to explore and enjoy the place
Would have preferred to have had my room serviced each day.
Beautiful listed building very friendly welcome and fantastic grounds, amazingly only a short distance from the city centre.Breakasts offered great choice and free coffee and cakes in the afternoon, not your average B/B. Very relaxing would recommend to anyone
The fact I had to leave !!
Everything, it's beautiful gardens , the library ,calm atmosphere ,wi fi and friendliness of staff and other guests
Your sausages were delicious!
Free car parking. Hearty breakfast. Decent selection of Freeview TV channels. Proximity to the centre of Birmingham, without all the hussle and bussle. (Just a £2.10 bus ride away on the 61 or the 63 - both bus stops right outside the entrance). The Study Centre is also on the right side of town for the cricket ground, at Edgbaston.
The room I stayed in (a single) was a bit pokey, in terms of size. That said, the bathroom was very spacious.
Lovely gardens, good food and generous, a comfortable room and friendly, polite staff.Like an old fashioned country hotel, really
Very peaceful and relaxing location, and still close to the city
The price. Tea/coffee-making facilities in dining room. Breakfast. Gardens. Lovely new conservatory. Frequent bus services which stopped right outside the driveway.
With my swipe card I couldn't get into quiet or silent room. Immediately after morning Meetings for Worship were over, nobody wanted to know me. I tried to be friendly to others in the dining area and conservatory but nobody much was at all friendly in return.
It's a bit of a hidden oasis right near to the city centre. But sitting in the walled garden at sunset was bliss. Friendly staff, rooms were comfortable and the food was excellent. Great value for money. Thanks!
Nothing not to like!
Its simplicity. The grounds. The peacefulness.
The smell of air freshner in the room was a bit overpowering, but that is a very, very minor negative on what was a lovely stay.
This is a Quaker-run establishment that offers B&B accommodation. I am not religious but it seems the Quakers have a very good attitude and way of life. Therefore the whole place is calm, clean, peaceful and friendly. There is plenty of Quaker literature about, but no-one tries to force any of this on you - in fact quite the reverse. The location - in a leafy part of Birmingham - is idyllic, as are the extensive gardens and woodland. The self-service breakfast is also very good indeed.
The room I was in had no tv and that I didn't notice that it was a alcohol free zone
the peace and quiet
The assurance that I could have a restful break in a very busy schedule.
Quiet place where one can work or study in lovely surroundings with comfortable and adequate accommodation.
If I was there longer I would want to have a TV in the room as when I am away working I also want to stay in touch with news and current events.
We loved the house and the grounds and the fact that ALL staff we spoke to made time to stop and talk and we're genuinely interested in us and our needs
We would like to suggest silence in sleeping corridors, on stairs and outside bedroom windows...and doors that shut quietly
Great communication from staff team. Dinner option very convenient. Excellent location, relaxing, spiritual surroundings and good, wholesome food
Friendly, peaceful - no TV's in the rooms, lovely gardens, nice lounges
I liked it being set in big grounds and the gardens. Free parking. The garden room was lovely.
I would have liked to know groups would be staying.
Loved the quieteness, the friendly welcome, the great b'fast, the place alltogether.... And i am not a Quaker!
The lovely friendly atmosphere and the accommodating staff. Very helpful dealing with disabled parents.
High quality, solid room decor and fittings. Attention to detail is better than in good hotels, e.g. excellent toiletries. Lovely grounds provide a relaxing stay. Very good breakfast, with everything very fresh. Fair trade goods throughout.
Just perfect as it is now.
Friendliness, tranquility of the site
Room a little small, though adequate
