The price. Tea/coffee-making facilities in dining room. Breakfast. Gardens. Lovely new conservatory. Frequent bus services which stopped right outside the driveway.

With my swipe card I couldn't get into quiet or silent room. Immediately after morning Meetings for Worship were over, nobody wanted to know me. I tried to be friendly to others in the dining area and conservatory but nobody much was at all friendly in return.

It's a bit of a hidden oasis right near to the city centre. But sitting in the walled garden at sunset was bliss. Friendly staff, rooms were comfortable and the food was excellent. Great value for money. Thanks!

    Nothing not to like!

Its simplicity. The grounds. The peacefulness.

The smell of air freshner in the room was a bit overpowering, but that is a very, very minor negative on what was a lovely stay.

This is a Quaker-run establishment that offers B&B accommodation. I am not religious but it seems the Quakers have a very good attitude and way of life. Therefore the whole place is calm, clean, peaceful and friendly. There is plenty of Quaker literature about, but no-one tries to force any of this on you - in fact quite the reverse. The location - in a leafy part of Birmingham - is idyllic, as are the extensive gardens and woodland. The self-service breakfast is also very good indeed.

The room I was in had no tv and that I didn't notice that it was a alcohol free zone

Quiet place where one can work or study in lovely surroundings with comfortable and adequate accommodation.

If I was there longer I would want to have a TV in the room as when I am away working I also want to stay in touch with news and current events.

We loved the house and the grounds and the fact that ALL staff we spoke to made time to stop and talk and we're genuinely interested in us and our needs

We would like to suggest silence in sleeping corridors, on stairs and outside bedroom windows...and doors that shut quietly

I liked it being set in big grounds and the gardens. Free parking. The garden room was lovely.

I would have liked to know groups would be staying.

High quality, solid room decor and fittings. Attention to detail is better than in good hotels, e.g. excellent toiletries. Lovely grounds provide a relaxing stay. Very good breakfast, with everything very fresh. Fair trade goods throughout.

Just perfect as it is now.

    Lovely setting and peaceful.

Very early breakfast times - especially for Sunday - nearly missed ours as we did not go in for it until 9:00am and the dinning room staff were clearing away, so we were left with whatever was there which was very little.

As it was the only hotel in the area with available rooms at the time of booking, I only expected a place for a quick night sleep. What I found, exceeded everything I was hoping for. Although the place does not pretend to be sumptuous, its grace, the look of a palace and glorious Harry Potter's gardens which you will run back to first thing in the morning, make it feel like an oasis of peace next to a busy road. High levels of cleanliness and friendly staff add onto the comfort of stay. Unlike other low cost hotels, it DOES offer toiletries, hot chocolate available in the rooms and astounding choice at breakfast. I found it difficult to leave after all...

    No such thing...

The peace and tranquillity of the place. The food was excellent with a good variety to choose from. The gardens were delightful. I attended worship most mornings and Epilogue. We managed a visit to the village of Bourneville.
