convenient as we have friends 5 minutes drive away. Clean, comfortable and warm! Fairly basic but we only wanted somewhere to sleep and breakfast. In lovely grounds - ideal for a walk after breakfast.
The location was perfect as we had plans in Selly Oak. Warm, clean and comfortable with a very good breakfast. Will certainly book it again
Attentive and enthusiastic staff. Lovely grounds and free parking.
Limited choice of rooms with ensuite bathroom.
The location, the access, the parking, the room that my wife and I shared was large and well equipped. The self-service breakfast was very good. The whole environment was peaceful and relaxed
We booked a single room for my mother, and this was on the small side, there was also a smell from the shower - probably caused by the trap drying out.
Lovely lounge overlooking the gardens to read the papers after breakfast. Lovely gardens - a real treat in Birmingham. Bus stop to New Street station opposite.
No tv, but this is a very friendly and peaceful place to stay.
bathroom and toilet are separate.
Breakfast was great with fresh fruit and porridge as well as the normal fare. Size of the rooms were good as they double as study bedrooms. The choice of a bath or a shower! The lovely residents lounge with a free coffee machine for the guests use.
The light saving corridor lights that one had to keep switching one. A very minor annoyance.
Free coffee machine and very kind staff
Room a bit dated but this is what you could expect from this kind of bulding.
very calm welcoming atmosphere. good choice of breakfast.
It seemed a bit odd to need to wear a badge whist in the centre
This is not a conventional hotel or B&B, but a study centre that takes B&B guests. It's run by the Quakers who have a very positive belief in friendship and welcome. It's a hidden gem of a place set in a beautiful garden. Highly recommend.
Warm and quiet
Total disaster in easy access for National Exhibition Centre. Although only 12 miles on map, in reality very slow and huge traffic holdups each of the 3 days I was there. Had to forego breakfast for two days in order to be on time for exhibition.
Everything was fine
A great stay situated in beautiful gardens. Great breakfast too!
Bus stop in front of road Very friendly staff Parking on grounds Very nice surrounding Close to sally oak centre Nice and quite at night
No tv on room A bit outdated interiour
the room/s were just what we needed we loved the grounds and wished we had more time to explore The staff in the kitchen were even happy to look after the recyclables and food scraps I had been collecting in transit - I knew they would do the right thing with them
that we had only booked one night and didn't have much time to explore and enjoy the place
Would have preferred to have had my room serviced each day.
Beautiful listed building very friendly welcome and fantastic grounds, amazingly only a short distance from the city centre.Breakasts offered great choice and free coffee and cakes in the afternoon, not your average B/B. Very relaxing would recommend to anyone
The fact I had to leave !!
Everything, it's beautiful gardens , the library ,calm atmosphere ,wi fi and friendliness of staff and other guests
Your sausages were delicious!
Free car parking. Hearty breakfast. Decent selection of Freeview TV channels. Proximity to the centre of Birmingham, without all the hussle and bussle. (Just a £2.10 bus ride away on the 61 or the 63 - both bus stops right outside the entrance). The Study Centre is also on the right side of town for the cricket ground, at Edgbaston.
The room I stayed in (a single) was a bit pokey, in terms of size. That said, the bathroom was very spacious.
Lovely gardens, good food and generous, a comfortable room and friendly, polite staff.Like an old fashioned country hotel, really
Very peaceful and relaxing location, and still close to the city
The price. Tea/coffee-making facilities in dining room. Breakfast. Gardens. Lovely new conservatory. Frequent bus services which stopped right outside the driveway.
With my swipe card I couldn't get into quiet or silent room. Immediately after morning Meetings for Worship were over, nobody wanted to know me. I tried to be friendly to others in the dining area and conservatory but nobody much was at all friendly in return.
It's a bit of a hidden oasis right near to the city centre. But sitting in the walled garden at sunset was bliss. Friendly staff, rooms were comfortable and the food was excellent. Great value for money. Thanks!
