Good size rooms. Some with balconies. Excellent restaurants. Friendly personnel . Beautiful countryside.
Narrow lanes but one can't blame the hotel for that.
Noise from single sex visitors in adjacent lodge. Only one bath towel in room. Staff not particularly concerned our sleep was disturbed Letter sent to hotel manager
Particularly liked the tranquil setting of the terrace with its stunning view and the food in the resturant
Location, quiet, good parking
Service at breakfast was poor, food was ordinary and when booking out I was told that if I used a different card to pay from the authorisation card then the original amount would stay on my card for 5 days!
Comfortable bed, amazing shower. Enjoyed leisure facilities. Tasty and good value food in Terrace Restaurant in club house.
Leisure centre staff both sat at reception desk chatting all evening despite changing rooms being filthy. Breakfast distinctly average as was the friendliness of the staff as we arrived for breakfast
Service t dinner was a little slow
Location, Style and Pleasant home comforts. Food good when available
We arrived for breakfast to see empty breakfast buffet. We waited 20 minutes and then left as there was no sign of replecement.
Stayed here for one night but wished it could have been longer. All the staff we encountered were lovely, & made us feel very welcome & cared for. The room was very comfortable & clean & whilst it was a tad dated it felt homely . We had dinner on the terrace overlooking the 18th hole.......food was lovely, cooked from fresh & was very tasty & well presented. Fortunately for us the weather was hot & enabled us to sit on the terrace & watch a truly beautiful sunset over a beautiful view! The luxury pedicure I had in the spa was one of the best I have had in a long while - very relaxing & the therapist took her time which was great as some spa's I have been to make you feel like you are on a conveyor belt ! Again all the staff encountered in the spa were very friendly & made you feel like you had known them for a long time & they truly cared about giving excellent customer service. A real pleasure to stay here & we definitely intend to return.
£32 for 9 holes is expensive when staying as a guest in the hotel The 9 holes I played, whilst in good condition, we're nothing special.
reasonably quiet and ok for Exeter.
Tired rooms, no a/c, horrid decor in the clubhouse, poor breakfast including salt in the sugar bowl and dirty plates.
Menus could offer more choice
Location and size of room.
A bit 80's in style.
plenty of parking space nice rooms
breakfast is poor.food cold hence we did not take evening meal.
I love the sorondings, food was lovely. Staff polite.
Should be more sign posted I got very lost driving through little of track roads. The pool was full of kids so I didn't get to go swimming when I wanted to.
Great value for money
Bathroom was a bit dated, mobile reception was non existent and no free wifi
fantastic service. Friendly and helpful. Nice sized room, very comfortable. Lovely facilities. Good parking
room service didn't provide us with the things we asked for, despite being available on the menu. Rated as a 4 star hotel but i would suggest more of a 3 star in comparison with other hotels. small amount of rubbish left under the desk in our room. Breakfast was below what we expected.
All of the above .. The hotel is lovely coming again in September
Being charged for drinks at the end bill when I prided at bar for them properly misunderstanding
Convenient location. We ate in the Terrace Restaurant: lovely outlook, excellent food and service. Our room was tired but comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the pool but the changing facilities are somewhat Spartan and the towels provided are small.
Insufficient check-out staff at a predictably busy time - There were long queues. We just left and agreed our bill later by phone.
The quality of breakfast and food was terrible in the evening had to send it back couldn't eat it so over coOked
Room overlooking the golf course
The atrium restaurant was like dinning in a nuclear bunker (no windows at all). At best the restaurant food was disappointing. Staff at breakfast were almost none existent (apparently looking after a corporate event). Breakfast tables were not cleared or cleaned and the hot food was left under the warming heaters far to long
great facilities - nice bright pool, hot sauna, great jacuzzi, lovely surroundings and views. Many good things about this hotel, good, plentiful parking, quiet when we went. Good breakfast, lovely dining atrium, nice and bright, too.
Hate to be negative but have to warn others of the truly dreadful wifi connection, shockingly bad. When checking out I told receptionist who shrugged, apparently indifferent, no apology, and said that it was because of the remote location and size of hotel. No excuse nowadays, internet connection essential. Awful, awful, slow, kept crashing, freezing the laptops. We gave up in frustration. Also management not too good it seems as mirrors in the swimming pool ladies' changing rooms for example were shockingly deteriorated and blackened, looked really, really bad and they should have been replaced years and years ago before being allowed to look so tired and old/dirty. Shame, ruined the appearance of the facilities. Also large limescale build up and what looked like some dirt and grime around shower doors, looked grotty and v dirty upper rim of loo, I unfortunately noticed it by chance when sitting on the bathroom floor. Yuck! Such a shame, these things should be immediately noticed and rectified, someone needs to raise their game at the top management there. It seemed a pity because the wifi alone would put us off ever staying there again, plus the tired appearance of the changing rooms.
Having food in the bar area was lovely as bright with lovely scenery
Very good customer care.
Very clean and good helpful staff. comfortable quality room and the best hotel I stayed in over the weeks working break by far.
Staff and location
Food not that great morning coffee terrible
