Woodbury Park Hotel  

The staff were very friendly and the building and grounds of the hotel were lovely. The food was also excellent.

We weren't aware that the Spa wasn't open (it's closed for maintenance) until after we'd booked as it's not mentioned on the booking.com website, although it is on the hotel's website (but we didn't see this until it was too late). We thought we would book some treatments instead but this was fully booked as the hotel was quite busy. We picked this hotel specifically because it was a Spa hotel in the right location for the rest of our trip yet didn't get to use any of it's facilities so we wished we'd picked somewhere else at a lower cost. Overall the hotel was lovely, but unfortunatly it didn't meet our needs on this occasion.

I was brought up in this area and have visited many times for lunch and always found it to be of a good standard,More than I can say for my over night stay. To say I was disapointed was a under statement.Firstly my own fault I didn't read the full details properly,now I know why the rooms were so cheap,NO facilities ie pool,jacuzzi,unable to get a appointment at the spa. We didn't go for breakfast on the first morning.Second morning we were ask what we would like,first item they got wrong.We both asked for scrambled egg,disgusting was a under statement it was more like fried egg scrambled in a frying pan.The bacon was cooked in the microwave and was so hard in places you could not eat it. I did send the eggs back and said it was not satisfactory,no apology was offerd.My husband and I just gave up and left the dinning room. We did mention the experience at check out but nobody was really interested.WE Will not be visiting woodbury park again.

Liked the location and the spa facilities. Also friendly, efficient staff.

Despite the hotel not being at all busy, our room was overlooking the internal restaurant atrium. The hotel is in beautiful grounds, this was very disappointing. The booking.com confirmation stated the room should be overlooking either the golf course or the estuary. We had poor nights sleep due to lack of air as could not open window for fresh air as internal only.

The standard of accomadation deserves its 4star rating.

Quite hard to find . .you need a sat nav

I was with a group of 8 forty-something lads celebrating my impending 50th birthday....the hotel had everything we could have wanted, good bars in both the hotel and golf clubhouse, great lunchtime menu, and very clean well kept buildings and surroundings

I think the food service in the clubhouse needs speeding up, it took too long to process a food order, and we found oursleves queuing a long time for thta, and then when we wnated a coffe afterwards, we had to join a long line of people waiting to order food....why can't the bar serve hot drinks to take the pressure off of the food service point...?

Noisy plumbing in room. Spa area not at all relaxing due large numbers of young children.

A lot of money for something not too special really. Breakfast - although a wide choice the cooked items wern't that great :( Expected more

We enjoyed the facilities we used-the pool, jacuzzi and sauna- The staff were all friendly and approachable in hotel and Bodyzone. In the evening, restaurant staff were attentive and efficient.

At breakfast, staff were friendly, but there was a lack of attention to detail; for instance, on a slow day, tables were not properly set,dishes not cleared away, so that the tables became cluttered,there were no glasses or clean plates on the buffet. There seemed no shortage of willing staff, but they were lacking in direction.Also, no-one asked for our room number!

The leisure facilities

The dinner and bar service was good on Saturday night.

Our room location was poor and we were disturbed well past midnight on both nights by people talking loudly below. Yhe reception said when we were checking out that the rooms overlooking the golf course were better. If so why were we not given that oppertunity when registering

We enjoyed the country setting and relaxation after my husbands operations. We were not able to take full advantage of the sports facilities this time. A car was neccessary to see the near local beaches.

Location and the grounds.

Thin walls between bedrooms - insufficient noise insulation. Breakfast chaotic with insufficient staff and space and the hot food was warm only! I did not find the bed comfortable although my wife said it was acceptable.
