the hotel was lovely, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, our room for some reason was upgraded to one of the best and it was absolutely gorgeous with a queen queen sized bed! Will 100% be coming back!
The room, and facilities are very modern. Staff very helpful and polite.
The hotel is very nicely decorated and the staff were very attentive. The restaurant for breakfast was very pleasand and the food was good. We were also very pleased with the decor in the room.
The shower in the bathroom was very spongy on the base and felt insecure. The room was nicely decorated but the bed was very hard and uncomfortable which resulted in a very poor night's sleep.
Friendly staff rooms spacious and comfortable
Its location close to Hooton station and its good link to Liverpool. Friendliness and efficiency of staff.
Nothing major. Evening meal slightly overpriced. Furniture and bathroom a bit dated.
Rooms were in an annexe building which was quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly.
No shelf in bathroom for toiletries. We were aware restaurant would be closed on the Sunday evening due to it being a bank holiday weekend but disappointed to be told it would also be closed Monday ... No wifi in the rooms either
The hotel was lovely. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. When I arrived I had been upgraded for free which was a lovely surprise! My room was beautifully decorated, really spacious and homely. Lovely large en suite bathroom. All very quiet. Ate in the restaurant in the evening. Had a wonderful, very reasonably priced meal. All in all my stay was great and I would definitely stay there again.
I cooudnt access the wifi in my room. There was something wrong with the phone in my room so I had trouble ringing reception. In the morning I needed a hair dryer but because of the problem with the phone I couldn't ring reception! Went down to breakfast with wet hair and got a hair dryer whilst I was down there which was no big issue.
Good staff, accommodation and food. Nice location and good for travel, near motorway (but not too close) and local rail.
Only live 30 mins away buy Stayed due to a family wedding nearby, lovely welcome and the room was clean, warm and bed comfy. Ideal for visitors to chester, wirral or liverpool. Great value for money. Had a drink in the hotel bar and has a beautiful garden. The young lady who dealt with us was warm, friendly and very helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends and family.
Being picky, Came in late after a wedding and was in need of a cool drink. Would of loved either a drinks machine downstairs or a small bottle of water in the room.
Excellent location for visiting Chester. Helpful and friendly owners and staff. Lovely breakfast cooked to order. Pleasant restaurant where we enjoyed an evening meal. Wi-fi good in room. Would very happily return.
It was handy to the M53 to get to anywhere around the wirrel .very well situated and will revisit.
Nothing comes to mind.
Very friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, comfortable furnishings and good quality and value breakfast. Would stay again.
Very comfortable an quiet great value 4 money.will definetly be staying there again
Ideal location to explore Cheshire and the Wirral. Friendly and welcoming staff who seemed genuinely interested in making sure you enjoyed your visit to the hotel and the surrounding area. Food excellent and good value for money. Close to excellent road and rail links.
Entrance to annexe area leading to rooms needs attention as not a good first impression. Area dark and decor could be improved. Storage area (if has to be used) could benefit from some clever disguise.
Staff could not do enough for you, food choice and quality was excellent, well equipped room.
Not a Wi-fi hot spot
Although arriving late after the restaurant had stopped serving meals , the chef stayed on and cooked us an excellent Dinner. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to look after us. Room was spacious, quiet, comfortable and tastefully decorated.
Currently wifi not available in bedrooms but only in the main building.
Friendly comfy hotel excellent room good service
Friendly staff Nice place Value for money NIce decor
Shower was cold, but the owner and the staff did offer us another room to get a shower in, and the owner, wanted to compensate us with a bottle of wine, but we declined. Nice guy could not knock him for being genuinely unhappy that our shower would not work.
All round excellent for service, value and comfort. Beautiful decor Comfortable and clean Spacious Great food - good selection and value for money. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly and helpful
Bed was a little hard. A choice of pillows would be good too.
Lovely place, excellent staff and convenient for so many attractions in the area.
My wife and I have just spent a couple of nights at the Woodcote with some friends. We live about 30 minutes away but we were making a big thing of my friend’s 60th birthday. We had a fabulous time. The rooms are comfortable and very well presented. The breakfast was fresh and tasty (and plenty of it!). The staff are super, they all went out of their way to cater for our wishes. I drink draft beer so the owner, John, made sure he had a supply of bottles of Spitfire, Doombar and Black Sheep. They also have a range of keg beers if that's your taste. The German beer is very nice if you don't want bottled stuff. Our bar bill at the end of the stay didn't wreck my credit card either! My friend had a big party for her birthday and lots of family and friends came from all over the place to join her for a dinner. The hotel gave us a great meal and loads of friendly attention and service. Faultless! The location is a very good base to visit the rest of the Wirral. It is close to excellent cycling and easy walking paths that stretch for 30 odd miles. There are loads of places to visit and great pubs for food and drinking. I visit Wirral a lot and I know way around. It's well worth doing a bit of research before you travel Other reviews speak very highly of the staff at the Woodcote and the praise is richly deserved. Everyone of the team is pleasant, helpful and willing to have a laugh with the guests. The hotel runs an Open Mic Night one Friday per month. The people I saw are all local and they play and sing to a very good standard. It's a relaxed atmosphere and new faces are welcome. The next time I stay (and I will go back) I'll take my ukulele and join the fun.
We only stayed for one night which was a shame. We were greeted by the proprietor who was extremely friendly and nothing too much trouble. As we had arrived after the restaurant had shut we were unable to sample their food but were recommended a place just up the road which was still open and very good. The rooms we had were nice and spacious, beds were comfy and very clean. We didn't book breakfast as we were heading straight off the next day, so cannot comment on food. But overall, the hotel was well worth the money. The bar was good, they had an open mic night on and was busy we found a table and two chairs and without us asking, the proprietor went and found two more chairs for the rest of our party immediately. We will most definitely stay here again and look forward to seeing more of 'The Secret Garden'
Shower a bit small
Good and well run hotel
Only one very thin pillow each.
