Very warm welcome by a great team of staff who really know how to make you feel welcome and valued as a guest. Interior decor. "Different", yet homely ambiance. Good Breakfast. Ideal location, close (but not too close!) to motorway and many attractions on the Wirral and Mersyside - Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet only 10 minutes away too. Look forward to returning spring / summer - for pleasure rather than business!
Peeling paint outside gives a completely false impression of the place.
Stayed here as it is very close to Cheshire Oaks shopping village. Lovely food, breakfast cooked to order, cereals, juices etc self serve. Lovely three course evening meal, either set menu or choice from main menu at very reasonable prices. We stayed in the external rooms in the garden of the hotel, which are in a converted terrace of cottages, very nicely decorated, although the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. Lovely bathroom with beautiful white fluffy towels. Room very modern and chic. Would definitely return
Value for money, good food and attentive staff
Staying at the front meant we got a lot of road noise
Staff so friendly , place so clean , fab food
Friendly staff ,good restaurant very comfortable rooms
Following my complaint about the room facilities we were immediately moved to another room. The owner called to give his own apology & assurance that work was in hand to overcome complaint about the previous room. Restaurant food excellent in quality & value
Manager and all staff were always very helpful.
Room was a good size, friendly staff, great location for Cheshire Oaks and Chester Zoo. Shower was good
The hairdryer could have been faster (not good if you have long hair). As we were on the ground floor and its laminate flooring can hear people moving around upstairs, that was annoying as we were woke up early.
food & bed
Thought the cottages made into flats were well done. Shower was powerful, breakfast was good, staff pleasant
Pillows were very lumpy and quilt made bed very hot even with the heat down. Only one bedside lamp worked - there was no plug - so couldnt read in bed.
Lovey clean and comfortable room. Good size bathroom. Nice restaurant and a good breakfast service. Quiet location.
Courteous staff especially the Owner, John. Exceptionally clean rooms. Stayed in Room 17 then Room 14. Bed in the latter was larger and more comfortable.
Loved the curteous staff. They were very attentive without being over bearing. The evening menu was extensive and very reasonable in price terms.
It's not that we didn't like it but the bathroom in room 19 collected moisture on the tiled floor and could be a health hazard to older people . As I said, it's not a negative but it could be an issue.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and clean and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is within easy reach of Chester and Liverpool, by train or car. The train costs about £4pp inc travel in the city and costs only 80p to park at the station for the day which is very convenient. The Manager at Woodcote is very hospitable and he is very helpful with his knowledge of the city and has a very pleasant manner as did the young lady who signed us in the evening, his daughter perhaps.
It was a little creaky above us in the night as people moved about upstairs. The breakfast room was slightly disorganised which made us late for our train. The girls were very helpful and doing their best but confused by their elder in charge,as she seemed a bit frustrated.
Meals are excellant, staff are friendly & informative. Highly recommend.
All the others could learn a lot from Woodcote House. Friendly staff, beautiful decor, very nice restaurant and a modern comfortable room.
Lovely staff nice garden
In room 19 where we where there was right next to us a generator which kept us awake most of the night I did complain.
well run hotel with lovely staff. room had all that is needed to give a very comfortable stay. breakfast was excellent with wide variety of cereal and a great 'English breakfast'.
Room clean and a nice size.
Noise from local pub when closing. Only a problem if you need early night.
Extremely clean. Helpful, friendly staff. Superb dining. Large, warm, comfortable rooms. A real nothinghome from home.
Very helpful staff and good food enjoyed by my wife and I. Close to railway easy access for Liverpool
Payment on line includes American Express but not accepted at Hotel (just remove it from the advert). Not much around it, pubs ect.
Lovely room, tastefully decorated. Very friendly staff on arrival.
Location, size, bathroom, staff and meals were all good
Bed was in need of an upgrade
