A lovely family feel to the hotel - the staff really go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. Rooms are nicely appointed, lovely and warm and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are a good size with large shower cubicle and handy soap/shampoo and conditioner dispensers. The food was really delicious both breakfast and dinner. We chose the hotel because of the location - being between Liverpool and Chester meant that we were easily able to visit both places during our stay - but another time we would choose it just because it's such a lovely place to stay!

Our room was in a separate block so being winter we had to go out in the cold to get to the main hotel for breakfast etc, but this was not a major problem and the positive aspects far outweighed this one.

Very warm welcome on arrival, nothing too much trouble for them, even opened a bottle of wine for us that we had taken with us even though they had a bar! Lovely room, very clean, very warm. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel decor was modern and immaculately kept. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make our weekend brilliant. The food and service were excellent. The bedrooms were comfortable and had excellent facilities. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Only one small niggle. We were in an annexe, which was fine, but somebody in the room above seemed to maake a lot of noise just walking about.

The room was great, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was lovely.

The couple upstairs from me were a bit noisy but the floorboards were creaky so I suppose I couldn't blame them really! The mattress was a bit uncomfortable.

Food was superb with minimum wait. Staff were extremely helpful and would go out of their way to help with directions maps etc. Will definitely consider returning again when / if next time in area.

Not so much dislike - more advice. Saturday evening can be mildly noisy with functions - the rooms outwith the main hotel in the annex alongside the garden might be quieter if this might be an issue.

'We stayed at the Woodcote just for one night to attend a family party. This was our first stay at the hotel and we booked it for the location and because the hotel we usually stay at was fully booked. Lucky for us, this is a nice, friendly, clean little hotel with enough quirkiness to make it a bit different. We didn't have dinner but the breakfast was so good we will try the restaurant the next time we stay there and there will be a next time, this one is now top of our list for family visits.

If I was being picky I would say a shower cap in the bathroom and a couple of extra towels but really have nothing to complain about.
