Was great location, had everything we needed, pretty good value for money. It has recently changed names and it appears to have been done up. The rooms had tacky loooking bright green on the wall and along the bath. I think I would have been nicer in an older style which would suit the grand old building that it is.

Location Left luggage Time to leave. No signage outside informing guests of change of name-we had booked to stay at the Woodcroft, not ibis. Staff did not really seem competent and hotel was very short staffed. Breakfast was disappointing. Evening meals not available even though advertised in room and on website. Did not live up to expectation.

Location . On arrival at the hotel address(49 Gervis Road) we were confronted by a fenced off building site. After driving up and down the road several times we eventually found another entrance at the rear on a different road. We were confused further by the sign at that entrance that read; Ibis Style Hotels, with no mention of The Woodcroft Hotel. We had to ask at reception if we were at right place. When we explained about the confusion the receptionist explained about the changes taking place saying "it's all a bit of a mess, sorry".Other guests said they were also confused on arrival. We were concerned but decided to stay. .At breakfast there was more confusion. A printed sign read "private guests continental breakfast only. We, along with several other guests thought that we were "private guests" so chose food from the continental selection. My partner was then surprised to be told in quite a stern manner that she should not have taken food from the section. We were then served cooked breakfasts which were satisfactory. There were other people who were reporting this to reception when we checked out. We were told again by this different receptionist that the changes taking place were" a mess". She noted our remarks and apologised. This was a one night's surprise stay I had booked through booking.com for my partner. I felt embarrassed and let down. Our memories of our visit to Bournemouth will be spoiled by the hotel choice,which was not as it had been described. Why hadn't Ibis Hotels or Booking.com informed me of the changes taking place and of the building work that is being undertaken? The staff were doing their best but appeared to be in at the deep end and lacking support. We won't be booking into The Woodcroft again, and will think hard before using Booking .com again.

The hotel is slightly "old world" which I find pleasant. It benefits from being independant of one of the large dreadful hotel groups. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. There is good of road parking provision which is not available in many of the more expensive establishments and you are not charged extra for this. I liked the informal atmosphere and would use the hotel again. The bar could do with a little more drinks varieties.

The bacon was of a good quality. Isn't known as THe Woodcroft Hotel and no obvious signs saying so, in fact there were no signs saying this when we arrived, so it was hard to find the hotel. Do not walk through the building site at the front or they could be closed down! The sausages were of a cheap quality.

It was clean and spacious. The shower was really nice. The room has just been repainted and the smell of paint was really bad. The bathroom was tiny.

There was no wifi even though it was advertised on their web page, there was freshly painted radiator and wardrobe in our bedroom and we could not sleep all night because of the smell, had to have a window open, radiator was not working, not even the one in the bathroom, therefore we were freezing off, manager was a trainee and barman in one person.

From the moment we stepped in to reception we had a very warm welcome and when she realised she had booked us a double room instead of a twin room (their error) it was not problem and gave us a room each which was a luxury!!! The rooms were so clean with plenty of towels and very warm and bright room. The breakfast was just fine - would definitely come back to this hotel and have shared this with friends at work.

We were greeted by very friendly staff and our stay was comfortable, the breakfast was very well presented with a good choice, we will definitely return and recommend to friends.

There nothing to dislike about this Gem of a hotel On arrival through to departure the staff were courteous and friendly, they made my stay comfortable and welcome. The receptionist, night staff and dining room staff are exceptional members of a team that are willing to go that extra mile to make your stay a wonderful and happy experience. My room a double even though I booked a single was clean and had all the amenities I needed. Well done woodcroft !!!

Very friendly staff, the hotel was being decorated so the paint smells were a bit of a put off, but it was all looking good, I intend to go back again before Christmas, to check the squeeky floor boards, which is on the hotels "to do" list, easy parking and easy to find hotel in a lovely location.

This is a lovely hotel with a very warm and very friendly staff. Previous negative reviews did not reflect my stay. Yes, they did not have a card machine but I was able to pay at the hotel across the road when I went for breakfast. Yes, breakfast was across the road but this was because they were decorating and thought it might be less pleasant eating in a new paint environment. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean - I could just see the sea! It is lovely to see hotels trying to make an effort with decor where so many have just let it go. I will definitely consider staying again and would like to thank them for such a lovely couple of days. No complaints. If you rely on tv for company then this was the only thing I found that didn't work well. However, Bournemouth has notoriously bad reception and even boosters don't work particularly well. I am happy with a book so this wasn't a problem for me.

friendly staff, central location - a few minutes from the beach and city centre, clean rooms, good breakfast (as the breakfast room of the hotel was painted, we got food in the "Orchid" hotel) very hot room, TV in my room was a very old one with only 4 programms, creaky floorboards (could hear the neighbours and people in the room above me), shower had only extremely hot water

Location was excellent just a short walk from the coach station and to the beach, breakfast was very nice buffet type cereals, tea, coffe, toast, juices, fruits followed by full english breakfast, the waiter was very polite; the bed was very comfortable,the room was nice and clean; price. You could hear when sombody was walking in the room above which was a bit annoying; the room was too hot; there was a reception kept at the bar and the music was loud which was ok with us but could have bothered someone else.

So close to the centre of Bournemouth and the sea front. Didn't have to move the car. The decor in our room was very strange and the colours didn't match. At breakfast there was only one waitress trying to do everything. The was a shortage of plates and tea bags when we were there. No sure if they had been let down by somebody or not, the poor girl did her best.

Its position and large car park to accomodate all rooms. It was reasonably priced and quite good value for money. It has noisey creaky floorboards and the decor is very tired. Our bathroom was the best part of our accommodation as it looked liked like it had been recently refurbished.

Central location. Hotel was easy to find, good sized free car park. The room was a good size and was clean. Upon check in the credit card machine wasn't working. The lady at the desk was very helpful and I couldn't fault the service from her. She explained that she had had problems earlier in the day taking payments from other guests. She called the manager who when he arrived seemed very busy almost like he didn't have time to sort the problem out. He didn't seem to understand that it wasn't my card and that the staff were having trouble with the machine. At one point there was a suggestion that I should go to the garage and get cash. I provided my card details to booking.com so my card could have been debited in this way.
