A quiet haven in the heart of North Devon, this 15th-century former coaching inn is 33 miles from Tintagel Castle, the rumoured birthplace of King Arthur. It has a pool, a gym, and free parking on site. Woodford Bridge Country Club is a charming thatched building, with a variety of elegant rooms. Each spacious apartment offers an en suite bathroom, a TV with Freeview, and tea and coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy a drink in the bar, and breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Food is made from high-quality local ingredients. Woodford Bridge has a library where guests can relax with a book, and a peaceful garden. Lovely apartment with everything we needed. Access to pool and gym after checkout. In beautiful countryside. In the middle of nowhere - need to drive or taxi to anywhere. Pool and gym changing rooms need improving. Restaurant being updated so very limited menu (but we ate in our apartment)

The staff we very very helpful. One receptionist even drove us to the local pub, when the taxi firm we were going to use let us down! They were all friendly, polite and helpful. Room was comfy and very clean. Lovely bath. We loved having the terrace to use, just wish it had been sunnier!! You need to take a taxi if you want to go out and not drive. The location is not ideal for evenings out, but is ideal for a relaxing "escape" break

First off the service at reception was excellent,the young lady was welcoming,helpful and offered some great advise about the area and places we wanted to visit. As for the accommodation,we thought it was outstanding,we shall be back That we couldn't stay longer!

The room was excellent; comfortable, and well-equipped.It exceeded our expectations. The hotel has style, and everyone was cheerful and very helpful. The restaurant had no style: no side-plates for the toast at beakfast; no cereal or orange juice on menu; no coffee pot - a cup of coffee brought to the table - and not great coffee at that! Dinner much the same: no side plates. It lets the hotel down. Our only complaint.

The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable and the surrounding grounds were well cared for and peaceful. The restaurant was not up to standard and let the country club down, particularly as it is in a rather isolated location and there were no nearby alternatives.

Lovely lodge with everything you need. Really impressed and value for money with a bit of luxury. The restaurant really let it down. I will travel further to eat next time I stay.

Stayed one night. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Checking in very efficient and helpful in locating a phone number for me via the internet. Leisure centre staff very friendly too. I liked the accommodation and would definitely stay there again Would be better if checkout was 11am rather than 10am.

Superb room, the old Inn is thatched and beautiful. Cost was great too. Staff very helpful and great leisure facilities. Overall brilliant. Nothing.

Beautiful large suite, nice bars and lovely scenery and landscaping. Very peaceful. It really is out of the way, so long drive to get anywhere else.

The room and bathroom was excellent we had our own sun terrace with sun loungers, flat screen tv with free view, and a fridge. The food in the restaurant was limited in choice and definitely not value for money, the service was very slow and food disappointing the theme night was Mexican, my husband said he had hotter dishes in hospital! My Eton mess [sweet] was in layers of fruit, meringue and squirty cream not a mess at all and very thin on the ground!
