Going the extra mile, needed an early breakfast to ensure I got to work on time, (rang in advance to enquire as the breakfast times given online would have been too late) assured that there was NO problem and true to word, marvellous breakfast set me up for the day! Nothing too much trouble.
Could have done with a larger desk area for working on, but managed OK. Made me work in a tidier manner though.
We liked everything! Brian and Judy are very friendly. They and their staff have Woodlands spot on. Breakfast in the conservatory is both delicious and scenic; the front upstairs bedroom overlooks one of those views, but with the extra height affording the bonus of seeing the neighbour's assorted (and peaceful!) animals, that include, er, emus...I think. It's situated on a quiet lane, with easy parking. There's a tidy, innocent-looking pub (which I didn't use) within a short walking-distance. Altogether a real pleasure and strongly recommended: We'll be staying again!
Everything! The accommodation was spotless, beautifully appointed, roomy, with TV, WiFi, and a bathroom with bath and shower
These are minor issues compared to the positives, but a whisk for the kitchen and hot water bottles for sleeping comfort would be good additions.
Very warm welcome at charming tearooms. Everyone was more than helpful. The facilities were excellent and we couldn't have wished for anything more.
There were absolutely NO downers at all! We would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Excellent friendly service. Great views over the peak district. Food was excellent and service friendly. Clean comfortable room and nothing was too much trouble. The attached tea room also serves great food if you want to bring friends or family out for a meal.
What is not to like??
clean rooms, good breakfast, great hosts and a wonderful start to the stay with tea n cake on arrival
Everything. Beautiful gardens, décor, hospitality. First class. Many thanks Brian & Judy
The Woodlands was truely refreshing. We arrived after dark, rather late & it was no trouble for them. We opened the bedroom blind in the morning to see fields opposite containing donkeys & emu's! The breakfast was tasty & the owners are friendly but not intrusive.
Exceptional value for money Spotless, homely, wonderful location Warm friendly helpful staff Great food-can't wait for evening meals when they start!
Tea and cake on arrival. Friendly & helpful owners and staff. Excellent breakfast. Good location, easy parking. Nice cats!!
The owners couldn't have been more helpful, the rooms were great and beds very comfortable. The breakfasts were outstanding. Would highly recommend this property
There was nothing not to like
Our room was wonderfully clean, airy, comfortable and very welcoming. We were made very welcome by staff and the breakfast was amazing, from cereal, fresh fruit, toast to full cooked English. All to your own order. The garden was beautiful, although sadly it rained and we didn't get a chance to sit out there. The views were spectacular as Woodlands is in a very beautiful area. Parking was fine. We had a restful. very enjoyable stay at Woodlands. Thank you.
We didn't stay long enough. If we ever go back up north we would really like to stay at Woodlands again.
Very welcoming staff. Lovely location. Excellent breakfast
Welcome tea and Bakewell Tart. Very friendly. Lovely room and large en-suite bathroom with bath. Good bike storage.
Relaxing Comfortable Good location Clean Pretty garden Beautiful bedroom and bathroom
Nothing bad to say about the woodland guest house I would highly recommend this place. The guesthouse is surrounded by beautiful views of the Peak District, we enjoyed cream tea and the views in the garden when we arrived. The room it's self was clean, fresh and extremely comfortable. The owners were always happy to help and very friendly. It's safe to stay that next time we are in the area we will be popping in for creamtea.

had a lovely stay, made to feel very welcome and comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. would highly recommend to anyone travelling to the area
A little gem. We shall definitely return.
We liked everything.
A warm welcome by the owners, Judy and Brian with complementary tea and cakes. The bathroom and bedroom were very good with picturesque views over Coombes rock. Bed linen and towels were also very good. There was ample choice for breakfast, Judy was very motherly, very helpful also very humorous. Brian's lemon meringue was very moreish and equally enjoyably.
The noisy Guinea Fowl in the field across the road, although one should expect these things in a rural setting.
Super friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Couldn't stay longer to enjoy the wonderful tearoom.
A warm welcome was received on our arrival - a pot of tea and cake was offered. We found Judy and Brian to be friendly and always there to help us with any enquiries about the area and travel. The room was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent. Beautiful location. We were made to feel very much at home. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.
