The Crown Manor House Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Lyndhurst Village, the capital of the New Forest National Park. This boutique hotel offers spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking....
Score from 500 reviews Very good
Steeped in history and surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, Passford House Hotel lies midway between the New Forest village of Sway and the Georgian town of Lymington.

Situated on the edge of Lyndhurst village in the heart of the New Forest National Park, this elegant Victorian house lies opposite acres of exceptional woodland and open heaths.
Score from 147 reviews Superb
dog friendliness dogs allowed in bar area where you can also eat if you choose (no dogs in restaurant). Good breakfast very friendly staff. Amazing places to walk the dogs just wish we went in the summertime.
Slight confusion with the price as different to what I booked on booking.com but was all changed to the correct price. Restaurant fairly expensive £25 for 2 course but plenty of other pubs 5 min drive away.
We liked the atmosphere of a classy Country Hotel. Service was excellent and staff very helpful.
The closeness to the New Forest. The friendly staff. Very dog friendly. Towel/blanket was provided for our dog, as was a dog bone! The breakfast/lunch. Child friendly. The gardens that backed out onto the New Forest. Our room was spacious, with a very large comfortable bed. Gorgeous bath tub. Plus the shower was powerful. There was a garage/shed for us to place our bicycles in. Plenty of space for parking onsite. Lots of garden space for you to walk your dog.
Bit cold in one of lounge areas downstairs.
The location is lovely . The young lady who appears to do everything from reception to waiting on tables in the restaurant is very friendly and efficient . Our room has a view over the garden and perfect phone reception .
The food is appalling . Burnt bits in scrambled egg , untoasted toast , awful bacon , pot of tea without the tea . Misleading descriptions in the dinner/bar menu ie cottage pie is a small bowl of minced beef with a small spoon of mash on top . Disgusting !
The location in the new forest and close to Southampton for the cruise terminal
We liked everything
We recently spent 3 nights in one of the deluxe rooms and had a lovely time (despite the rainy weather). The food was excellent, especially the pancakes at breakfast! All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, warming baby food and advising on places to visit. The bed was very comfortable. Lovely large soft bath towels were provided. The room was very clean. The only slight downside was that the tv in our room was very small. All in all however a very pleasant stay!
Could not fault the hotel or staff. Both were excellent. They were so friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful birthday meal in the evening with a special treat from the Chef. Have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Room fab, good location
Dinner was expensive and no cheaper options bar menu not available at that time. Breakfast was late as no front of house staff so I was late leaving
Beautiful setting, excellent facilities, friendly helpful staff.
Early morning noise at front of hotel (delivery lorries/vans).
This is a family run hotel, not a slick, concrete-cube rented room. The country home atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Effort has been made at refurbishment but the age of the building means certain things can't be changed; leading to limitations in decor. We had a great stay, lovely breakfast. There was one person with coeliac disease in our group; we gave advance warning and there was suitable food available at breakfast. Much appreciated. Remember, this is 3* not four.
The shower was like the rainforest, a gentle spray. Because it was a fixed head, it could not be taken down to rinse off suds. This did not really affect our stay...this is just feedback.
Good location, clean and tidy friendly staff. Very obliging with organising taxis etc breakfast was lovely
Bar was little expensive
2nd night we had a better room, view of garden only up 2 flights stairs. Spotlessley clean
1st night superior de luxe room was up 4 steep flights of stairs, no lift. Described as having landmark views of the garden, all we had was the car park. Room not clean, mold on window frames and in the shower.Bed too firm. Not cleaned behind dressing table. We dropped something over back of dress. table and upon retrieving it we also got out packets of biscuits and sachets of hot chocolate etc. Disgusted. Should never have been same price as second night room.
Friendly and helpful staff
Hotel was like Faulty Towers
Located a moments walk to the entrance to an area of the New Forest. My husband and I had a lovely walk around and back. Really super. Our room was the double deluxe. BEAUTIFULLY decorated and snacks provided. Lovely view over the back garden. Lovely part of the New Forest! Breakfast on both mornings was very yummy!
I know one does not tend to watch TV when staying in the New Forest, but after 9pm we tend to tune in. Sadly the screen was about 10 inches across. Our deluxe room was next door to a couple who had their dog staying with them. Between 7-10 the dog was barking constantly, and was running around at 5am in the morning. It might be good to have specially allocated rooms for those travelling with dogs, as the room cost more than most for us, but because of the active little chap (he was very cute though!!) we didn't get much sleep...although the bed was very comfy!!
The room was a good size and comfortable and the staff were brilliant.
The bacon at breakfast wasn't great although the overall breakfast was good.
Location beautiful and easy access, adequate parking, helpful staff and nice reasonable priced (for a hotel) food in the restaurant
On my last visit housekeeping only pulled the bedclothes back over the bed (not remade) and bathroom as far as I could see hadn't been cleaned, replenished or towels folded. Hopefully a one off as I have stayed previously without issue
loved the woodland at the back of the hotel. Room 10 was spacious and with a balcony.
the bedroom just needs a face lift. The bar menu had a reasonable choice of food but stopped serving at 6pm which was too early for us .
Lovely location Pony's often in the garden in the mornings. Great food. Friendly Staff. Dog Friendly.
No cooked breakfast available via room service. A little more attention to detail needed with regards to cleaning - found an old stocking in bedside drawer.
Garden and staff
Cold toast and tea Cobwebs everywhere Poor water pressure Price for what we got Place looked and felt like Fawlty Towers
We had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden with a four poster bed. Unfortunately it literally was four posts - no drapes!
Although we had a balcony there was no furniture to sit on outside. The doors opened outward and the only way to keep them open was by using our suitcases.
Location Quietness Access to forest Restaurant Garden
Early morning vehicle noise at front
helpful, friendly staff; good evening meal; quiet gardens to relax and enjoy the evening sunshine and homely feel to hotel
Could have done with better quality bacon at breakfast!
Great location in the New forest Yet close to Southampton if you need to visit. Dinner and Breakfast was excellent.
Cleanliness We didn't have the feeling the staff enjoyed their work
GOOD POSITION COMFORTABLE BED EXCELLENT BREAKFAST STAFF FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL
