The staff were excellent, gave us plenty of advice when asked, couldnt do enough for us, The breakfast was superb, the facilities were very good
Pillows were too soft, wifi weak, kept dropping out apart from that everything was great
Exceptional hotel, brilliant room, brilliant facilities, brilliant breakfast and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Definitely recommend the Woodlands Hotel to family and friends etc
The position of hotel great to walk in to top village in the evening. The staff, in particular Erica were lovely. Very helpful, cheerful lovely girl. They need to make you aware when booking that you can use the facilities at a neighbouring hotel (spa).
Need decent pillows. The ones supplied, very thin, not comfy and no extras supplied. Decor needs updating, we moved rooms due to mould behind wall paper. Be clearer when booking, which room your getting. Very disappointed we had no lounge area to chill out. It was also our 19 th wedding anniversary, it would have been nice to have this acknowledged ( fruit/wine/chocs ) etc. would say overpriced for the room we had and would say more of a 3 or 4 star.
Staff, and breakfast very good
both rooms had loose water taps and a remote for a tv didnt work had tape over the battery compartment.
All the staff made us feel at ease nothing was to much trouble. We asked for extra pillows and our breakfast brought to our room as I have health issues no trouble. Breakfast was delicious even our fussy teenager was happy, they were also happy to cater for our special dietary needs. Alan very kindly gave us a lift into windermere and showed us all the nice places to go and eat. The staff on arrival gave us a map and circled where we are. The hotel was fully booked while we were there and the staff/owners were not bothered by this. We will defiantly be visiting again.
There wasn't anything we as a family didn't like
All of lt
Woodlands is advertised as a 5 star hotel. When we arrived we were shown the dining room and told they didn`t serve evening meals. We were shown the room which was small and the bathroom had only 1 shelf. As we were staying for 3 nights we would not have been comfortable so we swapped and stayed at the Regent Hotel in Ambleside. We said it was only fair to be charged for 1 night if they could sell the room. As yet we have had no contact so I presume the full amount of £330 will be dibited from my credit card.
The staff were friendly, breakfast was nice and the place was clean. Was good that we could use the leisure facilities at The Old England, but we didn't know that until we arrived. Would have been good to know before, so we could have brought our gear.
The shower room in rooms 9 and 10 were very small for the price we paid. We were also in the eaves, which made the mirror too low on the wall to use in room 10.
Great room Great staff who were willing to spend time with you to discuss your plans for the day/ night Great breakfast Great team Great stay - will be returning! Thank you
Breakfast was outstanding
Rooms small and a terrible smell of dog in room but when we queried it with staff they said it was the smell from the wooden furniture in room, I felt it was overpriced for the size of room.
The house looks nice and staff are quite nice, the room is cozy but a little bit small, not far away from town centre, overall is good
fabulous breakfast. Terrific staff, very friendly and amusing. Great beds. It even had a rather good grand piano. Would definitely come back if had the time and money.
The atmosphere, fantastic breakfast, the location, the beds.
The room offered on first night had a very small bathroom(impossible to bend in the shower), nothing you would expect from a 5 star facility. The next day they did though offer me another room which had a bigger bathroom but it came at 15 pounds additional per day.
The staff all went out of way to be helpful nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. Would not hesitate staying again
Staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was great.
Not enough tables at breakfast room if the hotel is full.
The rooms were comfortable and very 'high spec.' We had a triple with a rollaway for our 4-year-old, with which she was very happy. Great bathroom!
Excellent service and very welcoming staff.
The breakfast was first rate and the staff were friendly and attentive. overall a lovely hotel. Only 5 mins walk to the town and easy to get to most places for visits. Would stay again.
When it rained the TV and WiFi reception degraded to the point of unusable although I suspect this has more to do with rural service than the hotel.
The kindness and friendliness of the staff and management make this place worth a stay.
The rooms are a bit on the small side.
Very helpful staff. Comfortable room. Very comfy bed. Large bathroom which was great. Good breakfast.
Shower was a bit small. Used to larger ones.
Please explain to customers the hotel with family management to estimate the capacity of the hotel with the level of 5 *.
No phones in the rooms, small bath....
Breakfast was good. Location was fairly central not too far from restaurants shops and piers.
Room was small. Walls were paper thin - normal conversations in other rooms were audible and the 'babbling brook' provided constant white noise throughout our stay. Bathroom was tiny - bend to brush your teeth and your rear opens the door... Definately not 5 star ..
Very friendly and helpful girl on the front desk who even served us a lovely breakfast. Comfortable stay even though it was very warm and we appreciated the fan as the room we stayed in retained the heat.
For such a large bathroom it had a very small shower enclosure.
nice friendly efficient staff, super location, clean rooms, very good breakfast, nice relaxing break.
