lovely location, spacious room and spotlessly clean.
the most uncomfortable pillows, impinged upon a good nights sleep.
We travelled with our 3 year old daughter and I'm also 7 months pregnant so wanted a comfortable relaxing night away in the lake District. My daughter loved the fact that we were given our our 'house' as the room was at the rear of the hotel with a separate entrance- large spacious room, very comfortable large king size bed and a single for our daughter. Jacuzzi bath and wifi
There could have been tea coasters in the room as it looked like people had used the furniture to rest mugs on as there were marks to some items which was a shame. Also a telephone linked to hotel would be expected for a 5 star so that you don't have to go outside if you need a member of staff.
The staff were fantastic and the food was nice.
The rooms were so hot it was unbearable even with the heating off and the window open it effected our ability to sleep, which then made us very tired and irritable all weekend.
Lovely hotel, decorated to a high standard. Beautiful breakfast with a lot of choice.
We were very impressed with the hotel, in walking distance to the centre of Windermere. The bedroom had recently been refurbished, it was beautiful. The bathroom was huge. The young lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful, showing us the best places to eat, and go for walks. The breakfast was plentiful. Had pancakes one morning, they were lush. It is somewhere we would definitely stay again.
Nothing, all was brilliant
Friendly staff and very good breakfast. Parking good. Location closer to windermere but still not to far a walk from Bowness. Nothing at all to complain about!
Can't think of anything
The hotel has a rich warm feel and the staff create this as well as the surroundings
Alan was fantastic, extremely helpful and welcoming, always willing to help in any way he can as well as provide you with an excellent awareness of where to visit/eat, etc.... Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful and the breakfast was to draw....
Clean, warm and very welcoming. Wonderful place to stay and very adaptable to the breakfast
No dislikes at all
Helpful staff, great location, tasty breakfast.
Staff very approachable especially the owner who gave us transport into town due to mix up with taxi firm. Quality of food very good at breakfast
For the amount paid, I expected the room to have a bath and a bigger area. Too much noise at breakfast time due to a large party and very small eating area.
Location Breakfast Room was very nicely furnished & comfortable Good local knowledge Peaceful & quiet
Room was smaller than expected Room tended to be very warm
We stopped in the family room. Which was spacious and comfortable. Fantastic place to stay. Staff were very friendly. Lovely breakfast, with plenty of choice. Would def reccommend this place to friends and family.
I liked the location and tge stuff were really friendly and helpful.
In term of cleanness i was really disappointed, there were small spiders behind the bed when I tried to do my own bed sheet. I found tiny instincts walking in between the matress and the ned. The toiled was dirty. The drawer in the room was so smilly. So I couldn't sleep all night and couldn't wait for the morning to come and leave. Its not worth the value of money I paid for my stay. It worth £20 to30 max. Afterall, i was really in a bad mood due to the discomfort in the room. I would never recommend it to anyone.
The staff were excellent, gave us plenty of advice when asked, couldnt do enough for us, The breakfast was superb, the facilities were very good
Pillows were too soft, wifi weak, kept dropping out apart from that everything was great
Exceptional hotel, brilliant room, brilliant facilities, brilliant breakfast and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Definitely recommend the Woodlands Hotel to family and friends etc
The position of hotel great to walk in to top village in the evening. The staff, in particular Erica were lovely. Very helpful, cheerful lovely girl. They need to make you aware when booking that you can use the facilities at a neighbouring hotel (spa).
Need decent pillows. The ones supplied, very thin, not comfy and no extras supplied. Decor needs updating, we moved rooms due to mould behind wall paper. Be clearer when booking, which room your getting. Very disappointed we had no lounge area to chill out. It was also our 19 th wedding anniversary, it would have been nice to have this acknowledged ( fruit/wine/chocs ) etc. would say overpriced for the room we had and would say more of a 3 or 4 star.
Staff, and breakfast very good
both rooms had loose water taps and a remote for a tv didnt work had tape over the battery compartment.
All the staff made us feel at ease nothing was to much trouble. We asked for extra pillows and our breakfast brought to our room as I have health issues no trouble. Breakfast was delicious even our fussy teenager was happy, they were also happy to cater for our special dietary needs. Alan very kindly gave us a lift into windermere and showed us all the nice places to go and eat. The staff on arrival gave us a map and circled where we are. The hotel was fully booked while we were there and the staff/owners were not bothered by this. We will defiantly be visiting again.
There wasn't anything we as a family didn't like
All of lt
Woodlands is advertised as a 5 star hotel. When we arrived we were shown the dining room and told they didn`t serve evening meals. We were shown the room which was small and the bathroom had only 1 shelf. As we were staying for 3 nights we would not have been comfortable so we swapped and stayed at the Regent Hotel in Ambleside. We said it was only fair to be charged for 1 night if they could sell the room. As yet we have had no contact so I presume the full amount of £330 will be dibited from my credit card.
The staff were friendly, breakfast was nice and the place was clean. Was good that we could use the leisure facilities at The Old England, but we didn't know that until we arrived. Would have been good to know before, so we could have brought our gear.
The shower room in rooms 9 and 10 were very small for the price we paid. We were also in the eaves, which made the mirror too low on the wall to use in room 10.
