It quiet setting and easy parking

we thought for a 5 star hotel it would have done evening meals

Woodlands had a very relaxing feel, and was very friendly. The Hotel was situated well for what we anted to achieve. Excellent breakfast, and very friendly/helpful staff.

We felt that the hotel was not quite up to the 5 star status, and although we had no complaints, would have placed a 4 star rating on the hotel. My wife and I were visiting the Lakes to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary, and wanted our hotel to be very special, which is why we chose a 5 star hotel, but unfortunately, we felt the hotel did not quite meet the same quality as the details and pictures on the website. Having said all this, we did enjoy our stay, would use the hotel again and would recommend to friends and family. The staff at the hotel were lovely!!

Friendly staff, good location between Windermere and Bowness. Gorgeous rooms, fabulous breakfast.

I enjoyed everything about Woodlands from the rooms design and comfort to the beautiful breakfast plenty to choose from and staff we so helpful and lovely, I would defiantly recommend this hotel, location is good to. It made our first visit to Lake District perfect and our first anniversary very memorable.

There wasn't nothing that I didn't like about this hotel.

Breakfast was the excellent. Good service from very friendly staff. Owner very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Four poster bed was very comfortable and room was warm. I like size of the place which is about 8 or 9 bedrooms I think. David Cameron the Prime minister had been a recent visitor which we found intriguing.

No glass in shower room to rinse with. No where to hold tooth brushes. No power point for shaver. No views of lakes or hills and no evening meal option but hotel next door do a real good dinner which I thoroughly recommend.

Excellent friendly staff, upgrading the room to the courtyard for a special occasion.

Breakfast was lovely and towelling robes in wardrobe were nice touch

Not very personal, we are used to staying in places where the owners interact more with the guests - eg at breakfast and on checkout about day ahead etc Was meant to be a family room and although spacious and comfortable the third bed was a roll under bed and the double bed was two singles pushed together, more a triple room made to fit

Good atmosphere and room was off a relative modern standard was clean and ideally for what we came for. The breakfast was also very pod quality

Minor issues really 1. The pillow quality was quiet bad however the bed it self was comfy 2. The ceiling appeared to be very thin and the sound transfer between rooms was noticeable

would be better if you could get food in the evening .had to walk to town to get some thing to eat .need to get more channels on the tv. the heating was turned off at night

Lovely location. Perfect for access to bowness - taxis there within 1 minute.

Not a 5 star hotel. Rooms not like the pictures shown - half the size and tvs are on tables not on the wall

Coming home!!

Stayed at Woodlands on Valentines night and can't fault anything. Welcoming helpful staff, clean comfy rooms and lovely breakfast in the morning. Added bonus of only being a 10 min walk into Bowness where we were eating. Brilliant place for a relaxing break.

Bathroom was dirty when arrived, bed linen found alot of long blonde hairs on duvet, could hear people walking around till 3.30am because of floor boards not fixed/screwed.

Poor quality room. Really dont think it's 5 star as advertised. Tiny bathroom with no bath. The taps worked backwards, the tv kept going off, no phone in the room, and couldn't even get a glass of Coke. When I passed on my comment at check out, my perception of 5 Star was questioned. Poor value for money, and I feel ripped off. Would pay £50 per night, but not the £100 I was charged. Would not stay again, and would advise people to give it a miss. Overall, we're dissapointed and it spoilt the weekend.
