Good food, clean accomodation, friendly staff We had to leave early on day of departure and there was no hot water for a shower or wash. Room was cold at night - no double glazing. Needs upgrading.

We loved it, great service and atmosphere. A bit hard to find, but should be ok if you have a smart phone or a sat nav. Great place and people, would definitely stay again.

The welcome The room, Blankets instead of duvets, 2 comfortable chairs, the view (room6). Most of all the welcoming decanter of sherry! We were there for the 70th birthday of Mike Taaffe-Finn, the whole experience was first rate

Food not too bad. Looks shabby, no investment. Room overrun by spiders and cobwebs. Very poor beds and bedding.

The hotel was very pretty in an excellent countryside location with superb views, the gardens were well tended and there are outside arbours and seating areas. The room was very nice in a country house style with brass headboard and regency style wall paper.Tea and coffee making facilities were included as well as a tv and trouser press.the staff were most helpful and pleasant. There is a lovely bar, small but pleasant and a good restuarant too. This hotel is a lovely romantic retreat and we recommend it highly.Great value for money at a superb country location that is not too far from local attractions.

The staff were very friendly. The rooms clean and the views were breathtaking. Parking on site good and the surrounding village, Brent Knoll, was just beautiful with 2 good local pubs available for food/drink. The decor in the room was 'tired' - although a country house does suit shabby chic this was just a bit shabby. Blankets not duvets are outdated and the bed could have been more comfortable.

Unfortunately only stayed for one night as had a wedding not far away. Thought it was in an excellent location. easy to get to but in the countryside. Both our rooms were excellent and very clean, the staff were friendly and very efficient, breakfast was really good, would have liked to stay longer and will definitely be going again.

The location was excellent. The view from our window was beautiful. I liked the creaky floors! Loved the decor. Lovely country hotel. The receptionist (Emma) was very sweet. She is a credit to your hotel. The filet steak we had for our evening meal was one of the best we have ever had, albeit a tad expensive. Nevertheless, it melted in the mouth. Although we did not have any, I especially liked the sherry decanter and two glasses in the room. A nice touch! The mattress on our bed was a bit hard and consequently I had backache but that soon disappeared when I got up and walked about. I did not like being woken up in the early hours by someone knocking on the door to be let in. It was very loud!!

A warm and personal welcome and a decanter of sherry in our room were delightful touches after a day's travelling. The terrace is a lovely place to sit and enjoy view over the lawn and wooded grounds. A beautiful church and a couple of pubs are within walking distance, and the seaside is a short drive away.

It was only a very short stay, one day we would like to find the time to stay longer, as it looks to be a beautiful area. I have only marked the comfort as good as we didn't find the four poster in our room quite as comfortable as we would have liked. But then no bed is like your own. It certainly will not put us off staying with you again.Thank you.Gordon Dodd

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was very pleasant and the food we had for both breakfast and evening meals was superb. The location was great as it was only a short drive to all the attractions we wanted to visit. We would have no hesitation in recommending this as a lovely place to stay.

The whole experience was a joy from start to finish. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and the room was clean and comfy. The food was amazing. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast. The cooked breakfast was excellent and the buffet for you to help yourself was varied and tasty from cereals to fesh fruit and dried fruit. We went to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and we certainly got our wish. I would not hesitate to go back again.
