good hotel and the staff were very good as was the accommodation and surroundings. Dinner was served up to 9pm which was a plus, also despite what the website says, a full breakfast is served at no extra cost.

Easy to find, good parking facilities and the size of the room was very nice. We thought there could have been some form of food available at 9pm on the day of arrival and the room could have been warmer. However it was a bitterly cold night.

Friendly staff (mostly). Quiet rural location. Quiet room. Easy parking. Good bar menu. Decor really needs a face - lift. All rather dark and dingy. There was no water running in the shower although the bath did work. Bed looked old and was not very comfortable. With some tlc could be a very nice hotel.

In the questionnaire left in my room I pointed out that there was no lighting in the side carpark when we left to visit relatives at 6.45 pm, and we found it very difficult to see where we were going. There was no remote control for the TV in the room

I bboked the hotel for a business trip and was very late arriving - after midnight! I had a really good welcome, a very restful sleep and a brilliant breakfast! I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for its caring team and excellent facilities.

The quiet countryside setting Wasn't enough lighting in the room for reading etc., and the security lights outside the window shining into the room.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and the location is almost ideal for my business trips to Bedford. Notwithstanding the notices in the bathrooms, I did not have any issues with the plumbing. What a great shame you don't have an alcohol licence as it would be ideal to sit in the comfort of the hotel with a drink after a hard day's work.

It was very comfortable and the view of the grounds is excellent. The dining room felt quite austere while eating. Also, there was a problem with the alcohol licence so you could only buy soft drinks from the hotel.

The staff was unexperienced and not always available. The hotel is very old (which was nice) but because of that the waterpipes were also old en sometime the toilet only flushed after several tries.

The hotel is beautiful, set in gorgeous grounds that feel as if they're in the middle of nowhere - but it's very close to Bedford. The staff are extremely friendly, the room was huge and it was excellent value.

The hotel was a little gem, a little tired round the edges but that was also part of its charm, it was quiet and relaxing, and it made a nice change to see squirrels and rabbits running around the garden when enjoying a wonderful meal instead of people or traffic. The staff were all wonderful, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of peace and quiet (as its slightly out of town £5 taxi fare into the city centre). It is excellent value for money, I was suprised on arrival to find that I didnt have a twin room allocated as I had booked, but was given a wonderful large double room with a king size bed instead which made my 2 night stay even better.

The location - handy for where I needed to be the followin morning. I have used the Woodlands over the last 27years from time to time and this is the first time I have been disappointed. It must have been obvious to the reception staff when we arrived late and tired (and no longer in our youth approaching 70) that carrying 4 pices of luggage between us through the ups and downs to room 34 was always going to be uncomfortable. The offer of assistance would have been greatly appreciated and made all the difference. The reception staff both arriving and depating were not I would have expected.
