Good,
Score from 48 reviews
Set in the green Surrey countryside, this stunning country house has 2 restaurants, one mile from Cobham and Leatherhead; 10 miles from Guildford and Woking. With close connections to highway M25, London is just 25 miles away, and Windsor is not far away. Originally built in 1885, Woodlands Park is fully refurbished, but still has a grand Victorian feel, with oak-paneled rooms and many antiques. In the Oak Room Restaurant, expect the freshest ingredients and, where possible, homemade food. For a less formal setting, Bensons Restaurant offers a range of modern cuisine. Hotel Rooms: 57, Hotel Chain: Handpicked Hotels.

The quality of the bedrrom and bathroom I was rather disappointed not to be able to enjoy the views of the gardens. We tried to have coffee and sandwiches in The Oak Room overlooking the gardens during the afternoon but were told it was only available for people having the full afternoon tea. Then we tried again to use it for breakfast (the tables were all laid up for breakfast) but were told we had to sit in The Benson Brasserie. After breakfast we discovered that The Oak room was indeed being used for breakfast! also the foyer/lounge area which is intended for reading and relaxing was REALLY noisy!!

Close to Epsom, but in the country. Nice Victorian building with great Hall. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room (no 36) on 2nd floor. Too close to m25, so noisy.

Having an upgrade on arrival as it was my wife's 40th birthday. The food was excellent. Very noisy at night due to Christmas Party. Our room was right above the reception area, which is where the guests gathered after their meal. One staff member asked us what we wanted from the afternoon tea menu, to which I gave the order. Subsequently he was never seen again. I presume he went off shift and never relayed the message to the kitchen so I has to ask again for my order.

We are regular customers of the hotel due to location. Although on a few occassions the noise below has been very disruptive due to functions. But more annoying our last visit 26/12/2011 the noise was due to staff hoovering & stocking fir with coal. We love the cosy feel of woodlands & staff are alwys vrey helpful & polite. D Masters Sorry as above..would recommend woodlands park bot would advise them to book the rooms away from the lounge area which is a shame as they are so cosy.. We were upgraded so even more of a shame. Before we accepted upgrade we did confirm there were no functions but did not think of the cleaning..

Setting is very beautiful, staff friendly, helpful and courteous, good breakfast, good bedlinen and room well thought through. When we arrived at 5.30pm there was a party in the foyer and a lot of used glasses, we couldn't hear ourselves speak to reception. When we returned at around 11pm there were some of the same people, still drinking, even more dirty glasses, so not a good impression. The hotel claims to be eco friendly, and yet it was overheated. Guests are allowed to smoke just outside the entrance door which is not great. Too many people and too noisy. Why did we pay £14 more than if we'd booked on another website?

I booked the room for my daughter and her husband for the first night of their honeymoon! The staff were most helpful and my daughter and husband said it was very relaxing to stay there overnight after a very busy wedding day and the breakfast next morning was lovely! (We had wanted to have the reception/wedding breakfast at Woodlands Hotel but just could not afford it so a night's accommodation instead was very special for them and the young lady, Lucy, who assisted in putting their luggage, balloon, chocolates, etc. was absolutely superb.) Thanks! H.K.

Convenience to Gatwick and London. Very comfortable. The staff were excellent but the Hotel lets itself down and especially the staff, by kitting the staff out in very poor clothing.

Relaxed location in countryside.Attractive setting/country house image and and interior but with pleasant modern extension area for rooms.Large car park. Nice brasserie /menu for breakfast On arrival doorman etc did not offer any help to assist with luggage -2 large suitcases-should not need or wait to be asked. Additionally we were put in very small room for first night even though we had booked 7 nights for exec family room. Fortunately changed satisfactorily to larger room from 2nd night.

A characterful building with comfortable rooms and good amenities. We just needed a base for a few days for visiting a few local places and the hotel amply met those requirements. Breakfast choice and food was excellent and hard to imagine you could find better anywhere. First room we were given was noisy at night as it was above the staff entrance to the bar and staff moved metal barrels about at midnight. However, when we mentioned this in the morning we received an immediate apology and were moved to a quieter room straight away. So no complaints!

Breakfast was very good, almost too much to chose from. Very good You could not sit out in the gardens at the rear because of the noise from the M25. The front was a bit better but still had some road noise. Could be improvements to grounds, ie woodland walk. We were over charged for dinner in the Oak room, which was changed on check out. Room a little disappointing for an excutive room, on the small side.

“The location was ideal. Very close to the University of Surrey. I thought the room was clean and comfortable. The Internet access was very easy, however is does cost extra. Tv comes with about 20 channels which were more than adequate. They do have additional pay per view packages available but I didn't select any so I can't speak to their variety or content. They do have a restaurant and I ate their one night. I thought the food and service were good. The front desk staff were very friendly and gave several excellent dinner recommendations. Overall I was happy with my stay at this hotel.” David, Round Rock |
