Night time very noisy young girls running about
At bottom of a hill
Friendly welcoming staff. with on site restaurant and bar. Room was clean and comfortable. Close to town Halifax centre thus easy access to a wide chioce of real ale pubs. Good reception of WiFi in room. Buffet breakfast.
good food ,friendly receptionist ,good bed
dirty carpet ,waiters too intense need to smile and be more affable to guests
No issues with room. Great value for price paid and included breakfast.
Bed was not very comfortable.
Food ,expensive bar
The room was clean and comfortable with en suite bathroom. There was a modern flat screen TV and drink making facilities in the room. There was also free wi-fi available which is always a bonus. The breakfast on Sunday morning was buffet style and served from 8am and we couldn't fault it - there were cereals, juices, tea, coffee, bread & toaster, jams and full English breakfast. All the staff we met were very friendly.
The hotel could do with a bit of modernising in places and also the hallway area on 2nd floor smelt very smoky and there were 'no smoking' signs everywhere so it looks like this could be a problem but on the whole we enjoyed our stay.
service, friendly staff, clean room with good facilities, good location for town centre, free parking.
breakfast was a bit dodgy.
Free internet, good location
5 night stay - sheets not changed once, carpets badly stained, refreshments or bathroom items not replenished daily.
See above and friendliness of all staff
Location great Excellent restaurant next door! Excellent staff.
Internet service lacking.
we liked the hotel, where it is in the centre of town the bedroom was very clean ,breakfast was very good, staff very helpfull we will be using the hotel again.
nothing that we did not like,we did not find any faults at all.
Easy to get to from the train station.
Given a twin room after booking double for single occupancy. Noisy room next to road and had to open windows as it was stuffy. Glass in the bathroom had liquid in and what looked like toothpaste on it from the previous occupant. From 2am until 4am the occupants of the nxt room came and went umpteen times and allowed the door to slam and shake the building. Now I know why I avoid hotels at this price range.
The view from the room was really nice, the size of the room was excellent and the bed was really comfortable. Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast choice a bit limited, though adequate, and unfortunately the shower didn't drain and therefore only one of us could use as running the shower for a second person would have caused overflow in bathroom: just needs drain clearing. :(
for a budget hotel ......brilliant
The location was a short walk from center. There was plenty of nice pubs, and places to eat.The new center complecs was perfect for places to eat.with the added bonus of having a JD Weatherspoons which is always a plus, because of its prices of food and drink.
Stayed here previously and enjoyed ourselves.changed owners and service was not as good, only one bath towel first night no food in restaurant chef was off we're looking forward to treating our family to a meal as we have always eaten there before
Shower nozzle sprayed all black bits, only one bath towel only one tea cup had to ask for another and only three milks per day, rather disappointing as we have always given good reports on previous visits an recommended to family and friends.suite cost extra we did not think we got value for money
Friendly staff a good restaurant .
The fact that I could hear the people in the next room and the room above snoring all night !!!
easy to operate from - close to stn, shops, train - yet quiet
Close to the Minster, near the town centre and very reasonably priced. Welcoming staff. Quiet location and free car parking next door. We were able to leave our car till after lunch on departure day.
Breakfast wasn't brilliant but was a lot better than you might expect for the price.
Very good location, clean, comfortable, pleasant staff. Good Breakfast.
Sunday breakfast opened too late
Reasonably priced and a spacious room albeit a bit tatty and worn in some aspects. Bed was quite comfy. Overall though it was reasonable for the price with breakfast included.
Wasn't over impressed that the bin in the room had not been emptied before my arrival or that the teapot hadn't been cleaned out. Little things but noticeable. Stained carpet and the furniture was a bit mix and match. The wi-fi signal kept on disappearing which meant iPad access was hit and miss.
People arriving but no-one there to greet them. Needs up-dating as dark & dinghy.
