The manager was very good and very friendly.
The room was very poor, bedding looked terrible all different faded colours, i certainly would not stay their again. Shame .
No hot water after 8pm very thin walls so can hear everything from adjoining rooms
THE BREAKFASTS WERE WONDERFUL. IT IS VERY CONVENIENT TO THE ROMAN PALACE
NOISY NEIGHBOURS FIRST NIGHT (AT 0300). MATTRESS TOO SOFT FOR US.
Breakfast was good.plenty of choice. Heating was good. Staff very friendly.
Room and bathroom needs refurbishing. No CD player as stated.
Everything is excellent : the friendly and devoted personnel, the excellent cook in the inn, the splendid breakfast in the morning, a lovely and so deliciously "British" environment, the quietness, and the functionality of your room. Why would you try or would you wish to search somewhere. And it's a cheap address. Enjoy your staying in West-Sussex. From France, a grateful customer.
Sheep-themed decor amusing and different. Staff friendly and efficient. Requested vegetarian breakfast was possible by being able to choose eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and beans from buffet. Bedroom annex away from music of main pub good idea.
Thin walls between bedrooms meant I didn't get much sleep with the snoring of the 'emperor' next door. Rather a long walk from train station especially in rain, maybe cheaper and quicker to take a taxi from Chichester station.
Room clean and comfortable Good breakfast
Unfortunately my husband and I were unable to have a shower around 8.00am as all of the hot water had gone. The water was icy cold. My parents had problems in their room as temporary heater stopped working due to a fuse blowing. Owner did his best though to rectify this for them.
Good location, food excellent ,clean comfortable room.was concerned about staying here after reading some reviews, I will definitely choose to stay here again excellent value.
Nothing to dislike.
The staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. It was nice and quite and we wasn't disturbed. We had a lovely relaxed. Weekend which was what we wanted.
We didn't like the fact that the cleaner only came in Saturday morning to are room he lefted are door open when we had are stuff in the room so anyone could walk in he didn't give us clean towels empty are bin or refill are coffee.
Generally the rooms are OK but need updating
The beds and linen are old and need updating I am amazed you have this hotel on your site.
All the staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel was well situated to the side of the pub. The on-site Sausage shop was an unexpected bonus - the freezer is now full!!
Could hear other guests leaving early in the morning
The location, just outside Chichester was ok.
I was initially quite surprised by the rather offhand welcome I received from the manager. Perhaps he was preoccupied by his duties in the pub when I arrived! The room was drab, cold and soulless. Surfaces were grimy and the cups and spoons were rather unpleasantly stained. The carpet was in need of a good sweeping. There was no remote for the television. On top of all that, the radiator didn't work, but, in the end, that wasn't too much of an issue because I spent as little time as possible in the room! For £75, I felt the place presented extremely poor value.
really lovely breakfast would stay again
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, surroundings, good car parking.
Bed a bit uncomfortable, running out of hot water in the morning for a shower.
Friendly staff and atmosphere in the pub
Very bleak room and lots of noise from other rooms and doors. No covering except curtains on the windows so if you wanted light in the morning you were directly exposed to the carpark.
The bar maid who was working when we arrived was very friendly and interacted with us all as soon as we came into the inn.
This room was VERY over priced for what it was... Although the rooms were basic and clean, the beds were terribly uncomfortable and there was no hot water during our stay (not just in our room but also in the other two rooms my friends were staying in). This wasn't ideal when we had a christening to go to and were expecting a good night's sleep the night before and a shower in the morning so we were fresh and clean. Unfortunately neither of these things happened. I am perfectly happy with a basic room, but to have to pay £75 and not even be provided with the basic need of hot water is unacceptable. When mentioned on check-out the gentleman didn't seem too bothered and we have yet to hear from the Woolpack even though we stayed there nearly a week ago.
Room need a refresh of paint
Friendly staff, rooms are in a separate building to the pub so nice and quiet. Great pub food.
Our room had a connecting door to next room. Neighbours could hear me snoring. I heard their TV. Could do with better sound insulation.
paper thin walls. guests in adjoining room were workmen and alarms went off at 5am. fellow guests on front of accommodation were woken by the noise they made before leaving in their big white vans!! bedding and towels a bit careworn, one towel was very thin and frayed.bathroom floor very wet on arrival and the room smelled of a dirty mop.
Staff are very friendly and helpful...easy to park here..breakfast excellent....not too far from Chichester and Fishbourne Roman palace..
Very noisy at night. Every sound seemed to carry through building ie people entering building, struggling to open main door, contractors getting up at five.. Had very poor sleep here both nights we stayed..also only one mug provided in double room. We only found out when we got up in morning and wanted that first cup of coffee!
Very friendly host who cooks an excellent breakfast. Also has a good knowledge of the area and is pleased to provide useful advice.
Booked two rooms - one double and one twin. Arrived to find reserved two doubles. They had to supply a single "put you up" in one of the rooms. OK but suggest you check your booking.
Helpful staff Good breakfast and service
The peace and quiet of the location. Very attentive helpful staff, excllent breakfast. Being on a bus route was very useful.
Speed of the traffic on the main road
Food and position were great. Potential is also great
Being ripped off - shown the best room at the price we paid for the worst one. 110 pounds for the children's annex to the room we should have had was no fun especially when the TV was immediately through the joining door
On arrival it was great to see the accommodation was separate to the pub. The room appeared ok and although the shower had a curtain it was good. The Friday menu was a Carvery and the food was very good with great choice and salad bar. The pub was very large and plenty of room to sit. The breakfast was very well presented and of good quality. Second day was help yourself.
The rooms were very basic and the beds were pretty uncomfortable with basic coverings. The noise from the cistern filling was heard from other rooms. The towels were not changed and there was only 3 hangers for clothes. There was no hot water at times. The evening meal choice from the menu was very basic for a Saturday and we had to walk out to better the choice. Wine is only sold in small bottles with little choice.
