The House in Woolverton is approximately 20 mins from the centre of Bath, going on the A36 towards Warminster. It is a quirky and fascinating place to stay with a touch of the "East" as the owners lived and worked in the Far East for many years. Mike and Rowena are wonderful and friendly hosts who made us feel welcome even before we arrived. They sent us a welcoming email to check if we had any special requests such as dietary requirements, time of arrival as they wanted to make sure they were in when we arrived and to advise us to book a table locally for dinner which we did. We arrived on Friday 20.02.15 early evening after spending the day in Bath and Mike welcomed us to the House and as it was quiet he gave us the choice of 4 rooms all of which were great we opted for No 2 , huge room with super king size bed and en suite bath and shower, mini bar, kettle and tea and coffee available on the landing of each floor. The bed was so comfortable and we had two of the best sleeps ever. Breakfast was a grand affair with a huge array of fresh bread from the "thoughtful bread company in Bath" pastries, crumpets, pancakes, selection of cured meats; cheeses; croissants, baked goods; assortment of jams/marmalades/Nutella; organic yoghurts; fresh fruit; raspberries; blueberries; pineapple; melon and a choice of cooked to order organic bacon, sausages, mushroom, toms and eggs all cooked by Mike! Variety of tea and freshly ground coffee and milks , truly scrumptious! Newspapers and an honesty bar in the conservatory makes this a wonderful bolt hole and retreat for a brilliant weekend away with or without children , also great views and grounds for sitting or walking around. Mike was great and showed us a great circuit around the village so we could keep fit and go jogging as the nearest gym was too far away.
Good location to Bath Full English but good alternative choices. Plenty of parking
The house is fab and the breakfast was wonderful
Rowena and mike were very welcoming. What a lovely couple. Breakfast was lovely and plenty to choose from. Just 15 minutes by car to Bath which was the reason go for our trip.. the Christmas markets. Had a lovely weekend
All lovely. No problems
Lovely hosts, beautiful house, fantastic room, wide choice for breakfast. Would highly recommend.
100% advise. Lovely owners so welcoming and a great breakfast!
The owners were so welcoming and attentive. Made us feel like old friends! Breakfast was superb, with eggs cooked just as you want them. Room was extremely spacious, garden was lovely and breakfast in the conservatory was top notch. Bed was huge, comfortable and room was warm.
So different from a city hotel box. This felt like a home and had all kinds of interesting pieces of art and furniture. The super king bed was extremely comfortable. Gorgeous wild garden with pear trees and cute sculptures hidden in odd nooks. Fabulous breakfast. Mike makes the best French toast ever!
Not many eating options nearby. The pub next door had ok food but nothing to get excited about.
The most amazing breakfast! Possibly the best breakfast at a hotel/B&B we've ever had. Great selection of organic fresh food which also included gluten free options. The hosts we're super friendly and helpful and very accommodating with our young children. Comfortable room. Best smelling soap and best softest toilet paper ever!
Nothing. We loved it.
From the moment we booked we felt special receiving a email giving all relevant details to ensure we planned our weekend. On arrival the owners made us feel at home and throughout or stay. It's worth staying just to wake up to Mikes breakfast. Brilliant weekend!!!
The owners The bed and bedding TheBreakfast
Astronomical cost for what we got, quirkyness all very well but the whole place needed some TLC
Not there long but enjoyed breakfast.
A bit noisy from the fellow occupants.
Proprieters and the amazing breakfasts
A bit noisy, as bare floorboards through the house, and a nearby busy road.
Made a refreshing change from the corporate boxes.
The lovely Rowena and Mike are fabulous hosts..they made us feel so welcome in their home and nothing was too much. Their aim is to ensure you have THE very best experience at The House. The breakfasts are out of this world..so much choice of the best local produce !! The House is beautiful and so full of character...it feels exceptionally special. Our advice is go !!! ... make a booking, treat yourself and be spoilt with charming hospitality ...thank you Rowena and Mike !!!
Big bed, fantastic views, wifi connection, tasty ales and wine and yummy breakfast.
To stay at the House is clearly a great thing! very nice house, very nice two owners, perfect!
Rowena and Mike welcomed us as though we were family and by the end of the first evening we felt that they were family. The room we were given was beautifully decorated, the bed was sooo comfortable and the bathroom exeptionally spacious. The view from the window was quintessentially English - green, cows, sheep. Breakfast was a real treat - everything organic - and Rowena and Mike made us feel like royalty. The house and the gardens were absolutely beautiful.
There was nothing to dislike.
We both liked the way Rowena and Mike (Our Hosts) made us very welcome all the time we stayed there. It was so good, we stayed an additional night
Going home again and back to reality
Really enjoyed staying at this lovely place. We felt part of the family and the breakfast and hospitality was wonderful. There is no doubt whatsoever that we will stay again when we come down to the area.
I loved the owners of the house they are super nice, accommodating and sweet. They made our stay very pleasant and we would stay with them again. The room was nice and spacious, the bathroom was very big and clean, the bed was comfortable and had a great night sleep. The food was great, very nicely cooked and the quality of the ingredients were excellent. The house was very clean and the owners did recommend plenty of places to visit in Bath. There was plenty of parking space and it was easy access to get to and from Bath from the house.
I would say that the drive from the house to Bath town centre was at least a 30 minute drive in little to moderate traffic not 10 to 15, apart from this our stay was great and I would highly recommend this place to stay over night.
Friendly owners, very attentive. Good food and service.
14 kms from Bath, was a little further than we anticipated

We were to stay faor one night but were so pleased extended our stay. A great location as a base for exploring Bath, The Cotswalds Stratford and Cheddar. Hosts Roweena and Mike make you feel most welcome and the breakfasts are excellent. Lots of pubs to eat at in the area.
Noise from the A36 but you getq used to it.
The rooms were spacious, and the bed's very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with something for everyone. There was a lovely garden and the weather was sunny, we had breakfast outside.
