Ada - at nearly 80 she was a credit to the place. She was passionate about the place and recognised plenty of scope for improvements (as did we)!!! Nice bathrooms - shame the rooms didn't follow suit!! No hot water in sink - another guest told us he reported it weeks ago for the same room. Spoke to the owner who was a joke. Purely a businessman playing with a place that has great potential and by all accounts a lot better history. At £90 per night the rooms should be updated with curtains that fit etc for starters and the owner who was too glad to take our money on departure didn't have a clue as to how to work out or present us with our bill - once paid he didn't even say thanks or ask of we'd had a good stay - totally ignorant and terrible representation of a place with so much potential.

We only stayed one night but were made very welcome, the food was good, the staff were lovely and the room had everything we needed for an overnight stay including a comfortable bed, which is always a bonus. I would definitely stay there again without hesitation.

The staff were very helpful. The chef cooked us up a wonderful belly of pork on one evening from a local supplier. We enjoyed eating it in front of a roaring log fire. This is a very old hotel and is in the process of being updated. Choose a room at the back overlooking the countryside and River Lark, the front has the road running by. You can see how this hotel could be amazing when they finish updating it with full central heating and modern facilities combined with the character of an old Hall. Until then enjoy its character and lovely servce.

Excellent food and customer service and the hotel is in a lovely location and surroundings. We stayed in the Coach House which is attached to the hotel for one night and could'nt really fault it apart from some rising damp on one of inside walls. Excellent value for money, the staff were great.

This hotel is a pearl! Well managed, great hospitality, excellent food, clean, spacy room, wonderful garden and surroundings. And maybe most important: A very personal service. The staff did their outmost to make our stay a memorable one - in which they succeded! We will certainly return to this peacefull and beautiful countryside place, where even the owner himself made us his company for one evening - and personally devised our tasty dinner. So thanks to you all, Manager David and your staff - (and a special greeting to young Katie whom we only met for a few hours but hope to meet again some day!) This hotel is not so sentrally located, but very much worth the exstra effort of traveling.

It is small and has quite a unique feel to it. Each room is differently designed and fits in with the style of a small country house.

The building was quirky and unspoiled - it had great character - most owners would have overmodernised it.The food was excellent - brilliant value evening meals. Breakfast set us up for the day. Staff very friendly & helpful.Reason for visit was to attend the Morgan Cars gathering at Newmarket, Worlington is a great centre for touring the area. Our one regret is that we were not able to stay for longer.

The room was lovely - very big with lovely decor - good size bathroom. The hotel seemed like it was in need of a refit as it was all quite run down and faded. Staff seemed bemused much of the time.....no choices at breakfast time....expensive stay.

Lovely building, full of character, would love to go back in time and see it when in it was a family home in the 1900 or so. Clean modern ensuite, lovely hot shower, good size towels (have had better at other B&Bs, but also have had lot worse) Comfortable four poster bed Good breakfast (again have had better at other B&Bs, but also have had lot worse) General decor a little worn in places, but such a lovely building we would stay again

Nice setting and a typical period building with all the negatives that make such hotels look better online than they really are when you get there. The owners have obviously tried to provide a well appointed hotel but the building alone will not carry this off. Some of the amenities have been provided with no regard to clients ability to use them, i.e. shower unit with huge steps to get into. No heating in bathroom and although it is May the nights were very cold.
