No food after 9pm and room service was poor serving only sandwiches. Smelly bathroom smelt of damp. Very dated decor in need of a facelift.
Receptionist tried her best to accommodate

we booked a room in the main manor and were given an awful room in the stable block that could only be described as awful it was a small room resembling a quick fit waiting room and steep stairs to a bedroom with very little comfort. the shower and basin were mini size .

Gym facilities were very poor.
Setting of hotel was great

The whole break seemed a bit of a mix up. Before arrival we rang to arrange food for evening meal and were told one thing. On arrival were told restaurant was closed due to wedding and then finally we were given the Map room to dine in.
Been here before for a wedding. My daughter booked this stay as a treat. Room was nice and evening meal was delicious
26 April 2015
The room was pretty small and the acoustics from the surronding rooms and corriodor very bad.
I would recommend it for a romantic get away - beautiful facility
25 April 2015
Hot stuffy room, no windows, cheap mattress (could feel springs!) before requesting to change room.
Location, peace & quiet, food in restaurant. Upgraded to better room upon request.

Historic Building with character rooms in part.

The service is helpful but perfunctory. Most of the staff are not native English speakers so lack charm and cultural finesse when dealing with customers and that is at odds with a house and location such as this. Personally I found the non-stop cheesy elevator music in the bar and restaurant morning and evening annoying and unnecessary and created the wrong ambience.

If you want a Premier Inn then this is not the hotel for you, but if you like country parks, style, antiques and a sense of history you will be very happy here. It is quirky, but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms modern and food good (but quite expensive). The woodland park and old buildings are beautiful and isolated

Georgeous old building full of character. Staff brilliant. Allowed us to have tosties in front of roaring fire in bar area. With kids this was essential and fun. Would recommend to anyone with kids ( ours 6 and 11)

The shower room was mouldy and the general décor needs a lot of updating. Advertised as WIFI in rooms but it wasn't available in Bedrooms and phone signal virtually non existent.
Location, Building and the grounds.

It is important to make it clear that when asked this question 'What didn't you like" that some of these points are no failing from the hotel exactly, but are just that the experience didn't match up to what we expected or hoped for. Maybe some of these things are what others love about it. I respect this. For energy saving reasons, the hotel says it installed automatic light sensors in pretty much every corridor, the spa etc. The result of this is that the whole hotel comes across as instantly spooky. We decided to go have a look at the spa very soon after checking in, and rather than exploring the hotel being warm and welcoming, it actually felt like we were snooping where we shouldn't. Coupled with the old mansion decor it felt more like a ghost hunt, going on and on into pitch black rooms that lit slowly as we entered them. This was the same as we explored other areas of the hotel. I understand why they did it, but it creeped us out. "Have we missed a 'closed' sign by mistake?" The room itself was nice enough, comfy bed, good shower, but the decor was er… again just a bit strange. The furniture was mostly cheap dark wood, some of the wallpaper was rich maroons that fit the theme, then there was some Japanese looking shiny geisha portraits on the wall facing the bed. These just don't fit the country manor appeal and showed little thought put into the decor - nothing wrong with any of it again, but just a feel that was not quite loved. The furniture looked very much like charity shop seconds rather than anything old and regal. The hotel had placed us in the courts area rather than main building. No problem, but a shame that they put us in an area where on the next morning there was an event in the function hall at the courts. So I was woken up around 10am on my birthday by loud chatter and cars dropping people next to my room for at least an hour.
We decided to book Wroxhall Abbey based on it having the best reviews for our price point of £99 per night. It had a comfy bed, was easy to find and located nicely in a countrified area but not far from motorways and local towns etc. The hotel is a beautiful old mansion house with estate of houses with very grand grounds, driveway, and of course classic large rooms, ornate decoration, high ceilings etc. The food quality is FANTASTIC.

Service is so poor, facilities is poor, Room is so cold heating doesnt warm up just making terrible noise. Reported issues to the receptionist she doesnt have an idea about what to do. No robes to use in the bathroom. Meals was rubbish had to travel to warwick town for proper meal.

The staff were superb. The room was fabulous and probably the most comfortable bed in any hotel I have stayed in. The food was great
11 November 2014
The staff were friendly and helpful at this hotel but sadly we were very disappointed with the cleanliness and poor condition of the room. We booked a Superior Mansion Double at 139 per night and wanted to check out immediately. The bathroom needs urgent update. We did not used the shower or the bathtub as they were not clean properly. The AC was noisy. There were 2 single duvets inside of a double duvet cover - incommode when turning during your sleep. I could continue but I do not want to remember that night stay.
Nice building and nice gardens.

single room in the annex seemed small and cold on arrival, though it did soon warm up.
really nice lounges and breakfast room, plus nice grounds
15 October 2014
Gorgeous setting, charming old buildings. Spacious enough not to feel crowded by other guests. Meals were very good.
9 October 2014
No useable curtains in room. Management knew curtains would not close but could not care less and rented out the room 60 anyway. Avoid Room 60! Swimming pool area in disrepair with sauna out of order and steam room very tepid
Beautifully furnished great views lovely restaurant
