Setting of hotel is very good. We were very disappointed at being allocated a room right up in the attic although it was evident to the receptionist that we are senior citizens in our late seventies. We had to cart our luggage all the way up as we were told that we could have asked for help only after we returned to reception to complain and to rquest a change of room to a lower level. We were told that no other room was available at the time. We did use the hotel's poterage service when checking out. In over 50 years of travelling never have we experienced a hotel room where, on opening the room door, one is confronted by a steep and narrow staircase leading to the bedroom area which makes climbing the steps with luggage very difficult.

The room was comfortable although rather small. Lovely bathroom. Food in restaurant was good and pleasantly served. Coffee after meal was dreadful. £107 for room without breakfast was expensive.

The staff throughout we're very good at their job and seemed to take pleasure in being there. The restaurant was very good with the service and food being excellent. Quiet location and old world charm. Wil stay again when next in the area.

When I first arrived I was received with a "friendly greeting." The first objective of any sales call - I was a "customer" of course! All staff were friendly, accomodating & jovial when appropriate and the food was great. An ideal stop-over for me on the way to the Heritage Museum at Gaydon to meet two old school chums. The only "down side" was the door locks that had pins that released the main catches with such a loud bang, it was very difficult not to be noisy when entering or leaving my room.

The staff at Wroxton House were exceptionally helpful and professional; they were always ready to go out of their way to put us at ease and make us feel welcome. They all seemed to enjoy their work and had time to talk to us. Someone who was particularly helpful was the lady who was doing the rooms - she kindly put a top sheet on for us, as we were too warm with the duvet. It was done cheerfully and she made us feel that it was no trouble. We really liked the building: it was interesting, pretty and well maintained, and the grounds were well kept. The food was delicious and well presented; the restaurant staff attentive and friendly with interesting personalities, and we liked breakfast being a buffet. It would have been reassuring to have had a hand-rail to hold on to when getting out of the bath

I enjoyed the location, the peacefulness.I Liked the various sitting areas which enabled you to have privacy. The staff were very helpful and friendly, especially when my newspaper disappeared!!great value for money.. So good to return to after a day at the fairport convention festival... A comfortable bed, a roof overhead and running water! Very little. Sounds petty, but a bottle of water each would have been good. We found the room quite warm as it took us a while to discover the window above. As we're light sleepers we could hear the cars travelling too fast, then braking at the corner. I'm aware there's a sign there and you can do little else.

The staff were excellent and the food was very good. I was going to Cropredy and googled the nearest hotel, this came up and was described as being in 'Banbury'. As I had friends also staying for the festival, either at the site or in Banbury I wanted a hotel that would be near them/the festival. I got neither. The hotel is 3-4 miles outside Banbury (further from Cropredy) and has no regular bus service. As I don't drive I found this very inconvenient. (And confusing as there is another Best Western hotel centrally that the website did not offer me). I was cut off and as the area has no shops felt isolated and cut off from friends. The road outside was busy and there was road kill on it. The hotel itself is pleasant and the staff excellent but its location was terrible for me and this was not made clear when I booked. The rooms were very hot and I slept badly. But in fairness to the hotel, if you want somewhere quiet and in the middle of nowhere and you drive then this is a good place to be.

The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was beyond reproach. They made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable and we would definately stay there again. There was a wedding reception there on the Saturday and our room was in the same block as the event. We thought it would be noisy but the soundproofing must be amazing as we did not hear a sound from the music! Lack of air conditioning. There was a fan in the room which helped otherwise it would have been very stifling! Also, the breakfast was not that special - edible - but not worth the price we paid seperately (approx £50 for 2/ 2 days. The dinner, however, was delicious and cannot fault it one bit,
