This is a very understated hotel. I would like to keep this the best kept secret, so I could always guarantee a room available. First 6 star hotel!!!

Setting of hotel is very good. We were very disappointed at being allocated a room right up in the attic although it was evident to the receptionist that we are senior citizens in our late seventies. We had to cart our luggage all the way up as we were told that we could have asked for help only after we returned to reception to complain and to rquest a change of room to a lower level. We were told that no other room was available at the time. We did use the hotel's poterage service when checking out. In over 50 years of travelling never have we experienced a hotel room where, on opening the room door, one is confronted by a steep and narrow staircase leading to the bedroom area which makes climbing the steps with luggage very difficult.

The staff at Wroxton House were exceptionally helpful and professional; they were always ready to go out of their way to put us at ease and make us feel welcome. They all seemed to enjoy their work and had time to talk to us. Someone who was particularly helpful was the lady who was doing the rooms - she kindly put a top sheet on for us, as we were too warm with the duvet. It was done cheerfully and she made us feel that it was no trouble. We really liked the building: it was interesting, pretty and well maintained, and the grounds were well kept. The food was delicious and well presented; the restaurant staff attentive and friendly with interesting personalities, and we liked breakfast being a buffet. It would have been reassuring to have had a hand-rail to hold on to when getting out of the bath

First impressions are lasting. We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome. The receptionist personally took us to our room and was extremely friendly. I had a beautiful room in the main part of the hotel, which was nicely decorated, comfortable and perfectly clean. The location was beautiful too. We also had a very pleasant meal in the restaurant and the service from the restaurant staff was excellent. Unfortunately, the room my parents was given was in a separate wing which was beside a rather noisy main road coming into Wroxton. The first thing that struck all of us was the smell as we entered, which was rather unpleasant and the bathroom had a hand held shower in bath, which was less than inviting.

Made to feel very welcome and that our comfort and satisfaction was of prime concern. the hotel is very comfortable and clean. Our satisfaction may be gauged by the fact that this was our second visit within six months.

“It was a convenient and cost effective place to break our long journey from the north to the south of England where we were embarking on a cruising holiday. it was clean and comfortable, with reasonably secure parking, at a reasonable price. It was easy to research and book, and there was convenient access to standard quality food. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There was quick access to the major roads on which we needed to continue our journey.” Michael, Manchester |
