I loved the food (dinner and breakfast) and the fact that there were proper blackout curtains. The bed was so comfy and I slept very well. This was for business, and happened to be the closest hotel, definitely recommend for business travellers (and golf lovers)
Only a tiny negative, the lack of toiletries in the bathroom. As a business traveller, I try to travel light, but was a bit disappointed to see no separate conditioner or body lotion. Could be that I have been spoilt in other places, plus the De Vere could probably have sourced what I wanted had I have asked. Very pleasant stay.
Room service Food available very poor and over priced
we were at the hotel for a wedding and everything was nice, the rooms are fine and we found the Wi-Fi very good although our friends said it wasn't very good at all so it may be dependant on the room you have. The breakfast is really lovely and really worth the money. The coffee and t machines in the reception area are a real bonus.
So the toilet flush in our room wasn't the best. the coffee/ tea machines were turned off late at night for some reason which was a shame.
Surroundings were beautiful and hotel was large and airy. Very pleasant. Evening meal was fine and reasonably priced.
I did not pre book breakfast on arrival. I was not reminded about this at check in. When we arrived for breakfast next morning breakfast cost £10.50 each instead of £8.50 because we had not pre booked. I have looked in your information and nowhere does it say you will be charged extra if you do not book. Also the general cleanliness of the room was of a good standard but the inside of the windows were very dirty. Cobwebs and dust/dirt that had been there a long time.Bit disappointing!
I think the coffee / tea area on the ground floor is a great idea. The hotel is in a beautiful setting.
Remote location in a relaxing environment
With a hotel of this quality it was slightly disappointing that there was no swimming pool.
Comfortable beds and on lovely golf course
Friendly welcome ny reception staff.
Breakfast service replenishing hot buffet and clearing tables little slow although there had been wedding night before so possibly just influx guests at same time.
Prices of drink & food were expensive
Very nice venue in lovely grounds. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for money.
Good comfortable rooms. Nice pubmeals. Modern environment. And (despite the lousy toaster!) a very good breakfast.
Please, repair the toaster!!! Or even better, replace it for a few new one's. During breakfast there was a constant queue of complaining people waiting for a proper toast.
Staff & Food.
Cleanliness of bathroom and shabbiness of furniture.
Absolutely everything was spot on. We had been delayed in traffic and despite only arriving shortly before midnight, we were not made to feel unwelcome. Despite our room being on the ground floor and near the delivery entrance, we heard nothing (unlike the hotel we stayed in the night after!) We will certainly be back.
Everything was perfect
There was nothing to dislike.
Location is beautiful. Staff are attentive. Breakfast was £8.50 & worth it
Mattress on bed was quite hard, everything else was perfect.
Hotel position, Surroundings, Quality of room and detail, such as tea making facilities, an Iron and board and trouser press. Free Tea and Coffee in the reception area. The dining area was superb as good as any 4/5 star hotel and the food was high quality and plentiful, Well done De Vere. We would certainly stay again and recommend this hotel.
Food in the bar was good and the service was acceptable. We were informed that we could eat at the adjoining golf club (The Claret Jug) and the food there was also of a good standard. Quiet location
We had to request the restaurant menu twice (on arrival and 4 hours later, but it still had not been provided to Reception) in order to decide whether to book a table (limited service due to Bank Holiday). Walls and door frames were in need of redecoration.
Nice Location, good scenery, helpful staff.
Rooms range from £39.00 to £129.00 depending on the dates. Same room.
hotel room was very good coffee stations really good price of the room
prices in bar food choices limited claret jug dirty and ran out of lager
We got a great rate through booking.com which made this an ideal overnight stay, before an early morning departure. Arrived late on at 10pm, but still able to order a bowl of chips from the bar.
no air conditioning, been told was just a little fan on the table, windows only opened a small amount. dreadful and response from management not to expect air conditioning in devere hotels.
I booked this for my partner and two older sons who were working in the area at v short notice. They were impressed with the entrance, grounds, facilities, staff, size, cleanliness and comfort of both rooms, food and facilities. Couldn't fault it - they would definiteley recommend to anyone and stay here again with pleasure :-)
Reception very Polite Food Excellent Bar Staff Efficient Surroundings Quiet Room was well made up when returned in the evening Hot flowing shower
Room Stuffy even with Window Open at night Nowhere to go for a evening stroll The Conference Room that we were allocated was at times over powered by noisy neighbours which did disrupt the course.
Location was quiet, staff helpful at check in, room was ok with tea/coffee making fasciitis, good TV etc bar and restaurant seemed nice area, good breakfast, comfy bed. Good business area with coffee/tea etc
Seems a little old, iron in the room was filthy and I needed to iron my suit and shirt, asked at reception to have a new iron but they didnt have one, give the option to use another iron in another room (irons are a fixed item in rooms) food was expensive in the restaurants and not really any other options in the vicinity to the hotel, in the bar I asked for crisps, they had non and did expect any before Tuesday (was there Sunday night) another customer asked for a drink with ice, NO ICE.... In a bar, come on....
