Very Little. I have travelled around the middle east, Spain and the UK a lot and this is the worst hotel I have stayed in for at least the last ten years. Food spilled on the corridor carpets. Emergency fire exit stairs ripped. Someone will fall down those stairs and then sue the company. A guest banging on a door down the corridor at one in the morning shouting for 'Steve' to let her in. Later other drunken guests shouting and arguing in the corridor loud enough to wake me up again. Could also hear the people above stomping around.Thin walls and ceiling, cheap construction, stains in the bathroom, etc. Worst hotel stay of my life.
Booked 3 nights, wish I hadn't. Cooked breakfast was cold on the first morning. Had to go and ask for tea next morning as no waiter came to our part of the dining room to check on guests. Dining room was closed for two evenings due to "functions". No room service available either. Nobody mentioned this when they pre-debited my card on arrival including "meals"! Ended up going down the chippy to get some food. Bathroom fittings are stained and tatty. Wi-Fi did not work either. Rest assured I shall not visit here again, nor will any of my friends and colleagues.
modern hotel, common area's very pleasant
bath plug hole damaged
Far choise from the bar. Food was tastey Bar servive very friendly Breakfast extensive. Staff freindly and helpful
Found dinner at restraunt closed. The cooked Breakfast was not very hot.
Stayed here many times great hotel
Minor point, but they didn't take a swipe of my card at booking, because it was pre paid, meaning I had to pay for food and beverage throughout.
the hotel the location the gorgeous view from our room, including a balcony, albeit small but big enough to stand on & enjoy the early morning sunrise
the self service breakfast facilities, lots of choice but the hot breakfast choice, some of it was a little dried out. Was a little disappointed with the set out for the evening meal seamt to be all sat on top of one another due to trying to keep the table availability to a minimum, ie most of the restaurant closed off
I loved the food (dinner and breakfast) and the fact that there were proper blackout curtains. The bed was so comfy and I slept very well. This was for business, and happened to be the closest hotel, definitely recommend for business travellers (and golf lovers)
Only a tiny negative, the lack of toiletries in the bathroom. As a business traveller, I try to travel light, but was a bit disappointed to see no separate conditioner or body lotion. Could be that I have been spoilt in other places, plus the De Vere could probably have sourced what I wanted had I have asked. Very pleasant stay.
Room service Food available very poor and over priced
we were at the hotel for a wedding and everything was nice, the rooms are fine and we found the Wi-Fi very good although our friends said it wasn't very good at all so it may be dependant on the room you have. The breakfast is really lovely and really worth the money. The coffee and t machines in the reception area are a real bonus.
So the toilet flush in our room wasn't the best. the coffee/ tea machines were turned off late at night for some reason which was a shame.
Surroundings were beautiful and hotel was large and airy. Very pleasant. Evening meal was fine and reasonably priced.
I did not pre book breakfast on arrival. I was not reminded about this at check in. When we arrived for breakfast next morning breakfast cost £10.50 each instead of £8.50 because we had not pre booked. I have looked in your information and nowhere does it say you will be charged extra if you do not book. Also the general cleanliness of the room was of a good standard but the inside of the windows were very dirty. Cobwebs and dust/dirt that had been there a long time.Bit disappointing!
I think the coffee / tea area on the ground floor is a great idea. The hotel is in a beautiful setting.
Remote location in a relaxing environment
With a hotel of this quality it was slightly disappointing that there was no swimming pool.
Comfortable beds and on lovely golf course
Friendly welcome ny reception staff.
Breakfast service replenishing hot buffet and clearing tables little slow although there had been wedding night before so possibly just influx guests at same time.
Prices of drink & food were expensive
Very nice venue in lovely grounds. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for money.
Good comfortable rooms. Nice pubmeals. Modern environment. And (despite the lousy toaster!) a very good breakfast.
Please, repair the toaster!!! Or even better, replace it for a few new one's. During breakfast there was a constant queue of complaining people waiting for a proper toast.
Staff & Food.
Cleanliness of bathroom and shabbiness of furniture.
Absolutely everything was spot on. We had been delayed in traffic and despite only arriving shortly before midnight, we were not made to feel unwelcome. Despite our room being on the ground floor and near the delivery entrance, we heard nothing (unlike the hotel we stayed in the night after!) We will certainly be back.
Everything was perfect
There was nothing to dislike.
Location is beautiful. Staff are attentive. Breakfast was £8.50 & worth it
Mattress on bed was quite hard, everything else was perfect.
Hotel position, Surroundings, Quality of room and detail, such as tea making facilities, an Iron and board and trouser press. Free Tea and Coffee in the reception area. The dining area was superb as good as any 4/5 star hotel and the food was high quality and plentiful, Well done De Vere. We would certainly stay again and recommend this hotel.
Food in the bar was good and the service was acceptable. We were informed that we could eat at the adjoining golf club (The Claret Jug) and the food there was also of a good standard. Quiet location
We had to request the restaurant menu twice (on arrival and 4 hours later, but it still had not been provided to Reception) in order to decide whether to book a table (limited service due to Bank Holiday). Walls and door frames were in need of redecoration.
Nice Location, good scenery, helpful staff.
Rooms range from £39.00 to £129.00 depending on the dates. Same room.
hotel room was very good coffee stations really good price of the room
prices in bar food choices limited claret jug dirty and ran out of lager
