the rooms are really huge, bed is comfortable. Bathroom a bit old,but still nice. View is beautiful from the room. Breakfast very good. Orderd some dinner with the room service,it was great, very delicious!
The style and garden of the hotel. The bar and library were particularly very beautiful.
Far away from the town center. Breakfast could have been better.
Large and comfortable room. Huge bed with crisp bed linen and towels. Excellent room service and food which was fresh and well presented. Polite staff. Recommended.
The location was excellent with bourton on the water and stow on the wold near by.The bed was really comfortable and the room was spacious .Plenty of hot water and a nice sized bath.Dining room was laid out nice not to close to each other.Nice English breakfast but was a bit annoyed about having to pay a supplement on the choice of other breakfasts.
The bar was a bit dull and the barman was never there to serve you for a drink had to keep going to find him.Found it hard to understand a lot of the waiters/waitress .The rooms get really warm had to keep opening a window this was the 28/29th December 2014 when the weather had dropped to -6 degrees.
Gorgeous location amazing food couldn't have asked for anything more
Its whole country house style, its ambience, location, huge rooms, excellent food, friendly staff and what it isn't i.e. corporate style hotel
The house and grounds. The library. The general ambience.
The restaurant menu was a little limited
The friendly staff at the hotel made us very welcome. they made our anniversary stay a super one, thank you.
Couldn't find suitable food for the evening at the hotel so we went as far as Stow and found a great pub.
The country house decor and atmosphere.
First room unacceptable, moved to excellent room, without a problem and staff were very helpful.
We really loved the location and breakfast of the place. It was in a nice and quiet location, and provided a change of scenery from the London hustle and bustle. The breakfast was delicious and was worth the money. The room was also delightful and pleasant. The room was big enough and the bed was more than comfortable.
First, some of the staff were deplorable. The receptionist, bartender and one of the dining staff were great. However, the other dining staff, where we spent most of our time, left much to be hoped for. They were rude, and at times seemed as though we were eating in their living rooms and disturbing their meals. It was more shocking because of how nice the place seemed to be. Second, the diner options were ridiculously limited. We were in awe of how little we could choose from. The food was also very disappointing in taste, which was surprising since they seemed to have won awards for their culinary expertise. To make it worse, the prices were expensive for the quality.
Soil & grit found in vegetables so was given half refund on one meal
Loved the size of our room, and the comfortable pillow and bed. Our room had its own terrace which was lovely. The food is wonderful and served in the conservatory with stunning views. This is our 5th time at Wyck Hill House and we love staying here.
The shower was difficult to work out how to use and had a fixed shower head which you had to stand against the wall to get under it.
Staff friendly, good breakfast, good location.
We stayed in the coach house accommodation, and upon arrival, we asked for the carpet to be cleaned as there were bits on it and generally it did not look as though it had been hoovered. Both bedside lamps were not working nor the main light in the bedroom area. Also the curtain in the snug area had been ripped from i'ts header tape causing it to hang 6in lower on one side. The curtain mounting in the bedroom area was also coming adrift. The steps down to the snug inside the room were carpeted the same as the room but needed a good clean.Could have been much better if time had been given not only to inspect but also to try using the accommodation as the guests would then these points would have been noticed.
Fantastic food in classic dining room (breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea all amazing). Our room was huge, with a lovely bathroom. Staff were very professional and quietly attentive. Public rooms were very well supplied with sofas and roaring fires.Good location for walks and visiting local towns and villages.
As with most hotels, we found it rather too hot (but our room was OK once we turned off the heating).
restaurant and food
stable block poor condition needs refurbtsh standers low.
It was a good price for a 2-person B&B (£65) plus we easily added breakfast brought to our room for only £6! The entrance hall, building and location were wonderful. Bed and bedding were very comfortable.
The part of the building we stayed in was an add-on to the original and lacked somewhat in the grandeur created in the main entrance hall. The room we stayed in, although by no means a complaint... Was very large and almost took away from it being a nice and cosy room.
View from our room in the main house was amazing. The Sunday Roast was very tasty and in a pleasant conservatory dinning room.
Would have liked to have had a Jacuzzi in the spa area. A fridge or mini bar would also have been a nice to have.
The friendliness of the staff great food the size of the room
The dripping tap in the bathroom
the location the bedroom were very warm
the doors and windows could do with updating them
Grounds, good parking facilities.
Unwelcoming receptionist, a live insect crawled out of my wife's bar salad, inadequate lighting in bedroom, no wi-fi in bedroom, poor bathroom products, decor dated. Wouldn't recommend.
The original building and communal areas were full of character and tastefully decorated.
The hotel rooms are far too warm. More regulation of radiators in rooms would help. Have visited before and I could see a deterioration in room decor. I would say the bedrooms need to be decorated and bathrooms overhauled.
Mould/ damp around bathroom window. Curtains in bedroom not fitting properly , not many hooks to hold curtain up.
The food, room and atmosphere.
A beautiful setting. We stayed here 20 years ago and always wanted to return. Lovely breakfast and attentive friendly staff.
Our room was a little bit tired and in need of redecoration. The bed was quite uncomfortable so we didn't sleep well.
Location was lovely, very clean rooms and comfortable. The reception girls were very helpful as were the breakfast staff. Nice breakfast and a very good choice.
Rooms a bit too hot at times and the bar person tutting at me when I asked for another drink, however It would not stop me staying again, Beware of local taxis, they are expensive £21 to go 6 miles!! (Nothing to do with hotel) Just for info.
