In the picturesque village of Tintern, nestled in the heart of the Wye Valley and a short walk from Tintern Abbey, this former rectory has stunning views of the river.
Score from 87 reviews Excellent
Located in the countryside, nice place for making a hike, excellent vegetarian dishes and breakfast, warm atmosphere, friendly staff.
Great food served in the restaurant.
the staff were friendly and the food was excellent
A couple of shelves in the bathroom would be useful and I much prefer a duvet to sheets / blanket.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, very good breakfast and a pleassant walk from the Abbey
Perhaps decor is a bit dated
Food and bar are great
Decor a bit dated

Steep stairs to our room.
As a family we have stayed at the Wye Valley Hotel on a number of occasions (on our way down to Torquay to break up the journey) and have always enjoyed it. The food is great, the bar well stocked (very important to a real ale drinker!) and the staff very friendly. Breakfast is a corker - you won't need to eat until later that night. The rooms are clean and tidy - recommended.
Staff, food, atmosphere.
Slight traffic noise in room.
Biscuits in room home made and delicious !
Dated decoration and breakfast room needs some music or something as very quiet.
lovely hotel, great food, great location, very friendly, helpful staff.will stay again if staying in that area.
Food quality, beer and wine choice. Location and friendliness of staff.
Good location with freindly staff ,good food & accomdation
food, real ale outlook
fairly offhand staff
Pleasant, family-run hotel with friendly owners. Tasty food and nice pub. Highly recommendable.
location, easy to find, hanging baskets a good land mark.
Breakfast was good, staff helpful and personable. Room comfortable. Situation beautiful and very convenient for site seeing. The evening meal was good with lots if choices.
The bed was very hard and we had blankets rather than a duvet, not a good nights sleep. Apart from the bed I would give high rating on everything but the bed let them down!
Good food. Good rooms. Good hosts and staff. Excellent value for money. Will go back to do things we were not able to do due to appalling weather.
Weather pretty awful over bank holiday. This was not the fault of owners who did their best to make light of this!
We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived. An added bonus is that when we said we would miss breakfast on the Sunday morning we were offered baguettes to take with us. A lovely thought - very welcome. And breakfast on Monday was delicious.

The location is perfect, staff were friendly, room was large and bright and the breakfast was great. We checked in a few hours early and the staff were very accommodating.
Attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness of room. Fabulous bar food and breakfast. The atmosphere and the stunning location. Personal service.
very friendly and relaxed place with friendly but courteous staff. Excellent real ale kept well and at a reasonable price rather than inflated hotel prices. Very enjoyable stay.
Room was spacious, good food, friendly staff/owners, car parking, big fluffy towels.
Maybe an extra half hour for breakfast would have been good. 9am finish a bit early.
The staff were very friendly the food excelent. Perfect place to unwind after a day at work.
