The staff are very helpful. Breakfast is very nice indeed....it's good to get a nice thick slice of local bacon. Not for you if you like modern, light airy hotels.....it's old and quaint.

welcoming host charlie who ran a fab hotel. nearly full hotel but so quiet at night lovely. lay lisening to the owls and the woodpeckers. my two dogs were made so welcome and when my disabled friend came to join us for dinner, Charlie could not have been more accommadating in making sure she was able to access the Bar easily. my only slightly negative comment was breakfast, rather lacking in choice,(No menu) the hotel could make more of the local products and offer more choice and quanity. what we had was fine but....

Good value for money. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Interesting building. We stayed in the annexe and the the room was pleasant and of a good size with the addition of comfy chairs. Tea and coffe making facilities would have been better with the addition of some biscuits! The net curtains were ready for a wash but the room and bathroom were clean. We shall certainly stay there again.

The Wyndham Arms was in an ideal location for my trip to the Wye Valley. With great walking, cycling and wildlife watching, close to Tintern, Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat. Owners and staff were very friendly and very helpfull, comfy and clean rooms. Thanks for a great time.

The staff really make this hotel! They are friendly and cannot do enough for you. This service starts before you arrive with an email checking any needs you have before arrival. Running our own business that relies on customer service (www.aspectsfurniture.co.uk) means that this is very important to us. The breakfast was really great quality food and well cooked - worth a visit for this too! If you are attending a wedding at Clearwell castle this is the closest place to stay. The rooms do need a little updating but are spotlessly clean!

Very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and the service was excellent. The evening meal was excellent, tasty and different, not the usual run of the mill menu. Our only qualm was the hardness of the mattress, perhaps it was just our interpretation, but otherwise an enjoyable stay.

We are a 'mature' couple whose chief concern when looking for accommodation is whether it is "pet friendly". We hardly go anywhere without our beloved dog, Buddy. We met up with family members who also took their dog. Well, when they say they are "pet friendly" the Wyndham Arms is not just saying it, they really mean it. Our pets were welcome in any part of the hotel apart from the restaurant, which is totally acceptable. We ate our meals in the bar and the dogs were always welcome, even given a plate of sausages for breakfast from Charlie the manager who went above and beyond to make us all feel very welcome. The food is excellent, not your usual run of the mill pub fayre, but imaginative, good wholesome food made with locally sourced produce. We stayed in the annex. It was clean, comfortable and was everything we required for a few days away. There is plenty to do and see in the Forest of Dean and we will definitely be returning this year. I hate to complain because we had such a great time but if I were to find one thing it would be the blankets. I would prefer to see a duvet.

Characterful country hotel, that was warm & welcoming. Also loved the pig ornaments & comfy sofas. Just felt the single room was a bit of a cupboard, you could hear through the walls, even peoples conversations. Also the tariff was high for what it was.

I liked the fact that I could stay with my extended family for a wedding. Generally very friendly staff, easy check in and check out. Good breakfast. My daughter complained that her room was cold. My husband found his mattress uncomfortable. The gentelman who did our check seemed alittle terse, but may be just tired.

It was very convenient for the wedding we attended at the castle just up the road. Although we didn't eat there in the evening we found the breakfast very good. The rooms were very quiet, just right for a very relaxing stay. May consider this venue again when we just want to get away for a few days from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

“I really liked the general atmosphere. Check in was a breeze and friendly. Arrived early but still allowed to check in to my room. Place simply has class. Never heard of the village/town before but maybe that is a good thing. I get the impression this is a little gem of a place which doesn't need to be over-advertised. If I ever get the chance to stay again in the area, there's no other place I'd consider than the Tudor Farmhouse. I don't work for the hotel in case your wondering but happy to accept bribes! Seriously - top stuff.” Richard, Middlewich |
