Beds were not comfortable. Rooms were not clean.
The location was good for clearwell castle wher 6 of us attended a family wedding the breakfast was good. Housekeeper lady very pleasant when she eventually brought towels loo paper n tissues of which there were non
The room smelled, needs a revamp very tired surround. Dirty towells dried paint on one we did not receive until 7pm after asking several times, reception man seems unconcerned. Said he was waiting for tumble drier so obviously no spare for whole of hotel Bed very uncomfortable. I thought very expensive for what we got. Would not stay again
Food - not a huge selection but what we had was very nice (Scotch Egg, Tomato & roasted red pepper soup, Lamb Jalfrazi, Confit of duck) and there should be something for most people on the menu. We needed to check out early on the Sunday morning and this was no problem, they were very accommodating and cooked us a lovely breakfast early (booked night before)
Dining room, although very interesting, is a little cold but if you like it cosy and warm, best book a table in the main bar where there is a lovely wood burning stove. Decor a little tired, especially in the bathroom but not bad for the price.
Location then zero.
Dirty reception office on arrival, followed by uncertainty over the heating working, chef and under chef for variety of probably genuine reasons not available so no food, got to room through stinky corridor with fire door propped open to relieve smell, and find bedroom with no toilet roll or tissues, not enough towels and dirty teacups. Sheets didn't fit the bed and cleaning the bath and WC wasn't on our itinery.
Location and charm . Breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly .
Slow service in restaurant at breakfast time .
Unforunately the boiler was broken and there was no heating or hot water, the stay was very cold and rating of 7.4 out of 10 was not reflected in this property.
Owner very helpful
Terrible location, very old facilities in annex.
We use this hotel whenever we are in the area. Lovely place and staff are friendly. Food good
The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast options are good, and the cooked breakfast was brought out very quick. Portions aren't huge but the sausages are amazing.
The toilet paper was like the ones you would get in a public toilet, would prefer normal rolls and the shower wasn't great as it jumped from hot to cold every few minutes. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but I am a bit of a mattress snob.
Good size room Bed and shower were good. An excellent location for sightseeing around the Gloucester area. WiFi was good.
Having checked into the Hotel (new Annexe)we went to our room and found that it wasn't made up. Hotel exterior was very tired and in need of repair and decoration. Lacked the normal Hotel professionalism, reception rarely manned by staff.
We were attending a wedding at Clearwell Castle so location was easily within walking distance, the room was available early so that we could freshen up and get changed after our long journey which was good.
The toilet bowl was very badly stained and needed bleaching, also there was no mattress protector only a sheet.
Breakfast Quiet location Friendly staff Wifi good
Tired fixtures and fittings, need refurbishing
Beautiful surroundings. Large room, and bed. Great nights sleep. Great breakfast
Some very loud guests with young children in the bar, whom did not seem to mind that one of their party had very bad language.
No food available and the fact there is no phone signal there unless your on vodaphone so the fact the wi fi in the annexe is poor at best but for me non existant your better off not staying in such a remote place
Great location for Clearwell Castle, but a bit dated and in need of some love. Staff were all very friendly.
Decor and style.
Very helpful staff
Rather noisy at times
Free wi-fi was great, and included in the price was a bonus. It was temperamental but the staff sorted it straight away which was great. Very friendly staff and they were very accommodating.
Walls/doors are quite thin so you can hear people if they are outside - however i only heard 2 couples walk past talking but if there were more people there it would be irritating.
friendly staff ,good food great location
Excellent staff and food.
Thom & Chris Loved the pigs Old worldie feel to the place Location Shower, plenty of hot water. They allow dogs
Bed - mattress too hard
Lovely accommodation and staff were very friendly
Good breakfast although fruit would have been nice. Beautiful location. Nice bar.
The third bed in the triple room was so basic and uncomfortable our daughter slept on the floor. No hair conditioner. Very expensive.
lovely location helpful and friendly staff everything you would expect
the hair dryer!
