Very dated room and surroundings
We were able to have a shower after returning from a cycle sportive even though we had already checked out of the room.
Due to a very early start to take part in a cycle sportive no cooked breakfast was available which is understandable. It was agreed with staff that cereals, toast, fruit etc. would be prepared and we would be able to help ourselves. However, the breakfast room was locked and there were no staff around. Therefore we were unable to have breakfast and had to leave with an empty stomach.
Staff were lovely and friendly.
When I arrived in my room it was sweltering hot and was being heated by an electric heater. There was a huge damp patch in the corner of the room with wallpaper hanging off. My view was of an adjacent building roof with a broken bed thrown on it. Bathroom was very basic with lots of cracked/broken tiles. I've stayed in much nicer £10 a night hostels!!
Rooms were spacious. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate with a boiler in the room. Big bathroom with a bath tub! The food of the downstairs pub looked good.
The rooms were a little outdated. No dvd player and tv though advertised in room description. Breakfast between 8 and 9 only.
Friendly welcome and good food
Best staff... All requested were sodisfied from the kind staff... nadine n.1 :)
the room was clean and large and very comfortable the meals were good and well priced
Location, good value for money, excellant bar food. Clean surroundings.
Entrance/Exit to Car Park, allows one car at a time. Limited vision for safe exit.
The breakfast was hot
The shower The bed and linen The room as a whole was grubby and second rate The curtains were not fixed to the track The carpet was filthy
Staff, Food fantastic, one of the best breakfast by far from any hotel I have stayed in, Clean , comfy beds, although a little dated. Great location. Great Price
Some Noise as you would expect from such an old establishment, I am a light sleeper, so earplugs next time for me as you could hear Toilet activity in rooms adjacent or above, couldn't quite work out, disliked décor in room I stayed, although I believe there are rooms that have been modernised ,so would definitely return to one of these rooms in the near future.
The waiter at breakfast. Parking and the Guiness.
Very loud, swearing customers in the bar.could be heard In our room till 11pm.Wallpaper falling of the wall.No Telephone in the room.Furniture old and grubby, bathroom the same.had to change the room, the first one smelt of chip fat, ventilator from the kitchen next to the window and an old sofa thrown on the roof !!
Lovely place to stay, food was fab, staff very attentive, best cooked breakfast we've ever had, compliments to the chef!! :D Possibly the cleanest hotel room we've ever had, very impressed :) Excellent value for money, lovely to actually get to meet the manager who was very down to earth, polite and curtious. Will definatly be back again as our son has relocated to Ruabon :)
The shower was abit feeble (not a big issue and the manager did say the were having a referb soon) :) Would've liked an extra pillow as ours were as flat as a pancake :P Again not anything to complain about but maybe worth looking at :)
Staff Breakfasts The Duty Manager was particularly helpful in resolving a double booking issue
The hotel was very run down and shabby looking
Tithe location was good for us as we were visiting relatives in Johnstown and Acrefair. As we do not drive the hotel is convenient for the train station. Also the buses stop less than 2minutes walk from the hotel. We caught the bus into Wrexham Chester Llangollen and Barmouth. The breakfasts at the Wynnstay are good value for money.
The hotel needs refurbishing. The carpets on the floors leading to the bedrooms do not give a very good impression of the hotel.
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent.
The room was comfortable but could do with some decorating . The paper was coming off the wall where it the rain had obviously been coming in. The bathroom window sill looked as if it hadn't seen a coat of paint in years.
Superb breakfast cooked by a lovely lady . Lovely clean towels every day.Situation was ideal for the places we wanted to visit.
A disinterested manager we only saw him once at breakfast when our order had already been taken by the lady who cooked and served our breakfast.Beds not being made properly just straightened and no sheet for the last two nights. We had to pay the cleaning lady cash when we left (no manager) pdq machine was out of order throughout our stay.
The free parking.
It smelled like a dirty pirate ship.
We arrived very late at 1 am and they accommodated us for a very late arrival. Great big and tasty breakfast.
It is a little dated and needs modernizing - but that was also part of its charm
The staff were all friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was first class - a lot better than a top notch hotel. It was great to come back after being out all day to a drink in the bar and a meal in the restaurant at very reasonable prices.
Nothing in particular hotel looking a little tired around the edges.
Smell of rooms, dirtiness, sour milk. It is the worst place I have ever stayed in.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff very friendly and eager to help.
The hotel was filthy. There were old tea stains on the skirting boards in my room, the bathroom was covered in cob webs, none of the lamps worked in the room. I have stayed in cleaner hostels. I certainly will not be booking in again and would not recommend anyone to stay there. £60 is an outrageous price for a room that had clearly not been cleaned in months.
Ideally situated for Llangollen International eisteddfod but not at Llangollen prices. On arrival staff changed our room as I was on crutches and made my stay more comfortable. Tried to book for end of week return, but fully booked. Enjoyed food in evening and at breakfast time. Excellent value for money. Told it was going to have a renovation and this should make it excellent plus.
On this occasion nothing.
Great place to stay for a night. Comfortable place to stay and decent breakfast. Beautiful building.
Needs some TLC
Not worth £80.00 per night no where near
tired rooms need a face lift
