Room was right outside reception area and under main staircase so a bit noisey
good location clean comfy rooms lovely shower rooms freindly and helpfull staff would go back
being allowed to take our super into the bar area at the end of the night
although parking permit given was a struggle to find a space at end of night
Music playing underneath room until 02:00am on 3rd night
the fact i was only there one night, and i got what i paid for
i was in a single room, it was dreary and not in the least welcoming, no valence on the divan, staff on arrival were apathetic it felt more like a B/B then a hotel,I also got the impression there was a resturant on site.
Comfy bed and clean linen. Good shower. Clean bathroom. Good breakfast.
Didn't get a warm welcome. Only one person seemed to be working in the hotel to book in and work in the bar. General shabby appearance of the foyer and bar areas. There was a lot of clutter around i.e. old furniture shoved in corners full of dust and old ornaments, boxes of bleach in the restaurant area, and the fire escape downstairs was blocked by barrels of beer.
Owners very friendly and welcoming . Always made time for you friendly towards children Sunday aft in griffin bar was excellent
i booked a room only but i could of add a breakfast i wanted. it was just what i wanted get up when i want go out an come back when i wanted brilliant and know questions asked and the bus stops to harbour and town round the corner
Location, staff, cleanliness
My son want`s to have 2 sausages for breakfast he got.
Poor room service, Muzik noise, poor pool, over all not good hotel as we had expect,Break fast room very poor and our table was middle of passage, Not Happy at all My son was very disappointed,
I stayed at the yardley manor last week for 4 nights. My room was spot on and very comfortable. The dining area was fine too and all the staff were very polite. There is an added bonus in the bar downstairs! Me an my partner loved havin a drink in there and a game of pool before headin to bed. There is also guaranteed parkin which is a bit of a squeeze but we got there. Overall we were very happy with our stay in torquay :)
Location was pretty good, central to a lot of things. Breakfast was pretty decent.
Poor parking, I had to block two other cars in at the advice of the owner. Walked through the doors and was overwhelmed with the smell of stale alcohol (probably due to the bad down stairs). Room was decent but had damp patches in places. Was an "ok" stay but wouldn't return!
We enjoyed our stay at Yardley Manor Hotel it was in a perfect location with only a five minute walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants. We only got to meet the receptionist but she was very welcoming. We had a fantastic seaview room with a huge bed. Tea replenished daily. Very clean and tidy. We will definitely stay here again :)
The only slight complaint was that the bed was too firm for my liking but my partner had no complaints with it. We had a leak from the sink that made the bathroom floor tiles wet. We had chatty people on the same floor as us that thought nothing of chatting out in the hall wall at silly o'clock in the morning so we found that disrespectful. Nothing that would put us off from staying at this hotel again.
not enough parking spaces i had to park on the main road not ideal. carpet in the room had not been cleaned.
The location was good, thankfully with local restaurants within walking distance.
Advertised as a hotel? No evening meals, and breakfast not served until 8am, this is ok if you're on holiday but when you're away on business breakfast should be served from 6am. This is the Yardley Manor B&B not hotel!
My room. Breakfast.
Pool, pool area, in disrepair and untidy!! Housekeeping not good!!
Location is exalant room was good.
Public areas poor
Location was good and the room was newly decorated and comfortable. Staff and management were great, enjoyed the stay.
Think there was an elephant in the room above. (not the hotels fault)
I have never before left a negative review about a stay before, but unfortunately the service we received at this hotel on check in was atrocious, and it left an otherwise nice experience with a sour taste. We booked online through booking.com, as the policy of the hotel allowed under 16's to stay 'free with existing bedding', which is not uncommon. Our 6 year old son sometimes sleeps in our bed with us anyway, so this was perfect for us. We even added a note about bring our son so the hotel knew in advance. We were not expecting anything extra for our son during our one night stay (no extra towels/pillows/cups/food etc.) On arrival we were met by a man at reception (the proprietor I think) who said that I should not have assumed it was ok to bring a child with us. (No welcome or hello). I tried to explain about the hotel policy for bringing under 16's for free on the booking site, but he was not interested and stated this was not his problem, but that of booking.com. He did not accept that this was a miscommunication between the hotel and booking.com and was quite aggressive about the whole situation. He said I should have rang ahead, (which defies the point of online booking), and I DID write ahead to inform them I was bringing our son). Nobody had tried to contact me to tell me there was any issue with the booking, I was to find this out at 6pm on arrival. I assured him that we wouldn't want anything extra for him from the hotel. He said "Lets call it an extra £5 and we'll let your son have a breakfast" When I said he wasn't a big eater, and that we would sort him out for breakfast ourselves (He would not have eaten a big breakfast) He first said "You would honestly sit there and eat a cooked breakfast in front of him while he has nothing". He then said we were quibbling over £5.
arrived early explained if we could leave car in car park no problems see you later...excellent.upgraded our room nice spotless bathroom.plenty of storage .plenty tea/coffee.sink into the bed.zzzz. people do need to understand if there are refurbishments going on we all have to understand staff/owners are doing their best. will recommend and definitely return.thank you all
