We have been visiting the Yarn Market for approximately 10years. Within this time period the hotel does not appear to have made any dramatic changes. Yet the rooms are still clean, and not looking worn out. Also, even though you have pets at the hotel, we have never come across anything unpleasant to indicate this to be so....no doggie smells. The staff are truly helpful, very friendly. Also, what is nice, is when we return every year, we recognise some staff members. This shows stability, which would indicate the Yarn Market is a pleasureable place of employment. Our visit prior to this one. My husband hurt his back. Your staff and management, plus the owner were more than helpful. When we came this time,...you remembered. That was amazing, and very impressive. It's clearly obvious you truly take pride in your work. The breakfast as always was great, but I missed my mushrooms! Besides that, there are no dislikes.

Very friendly, excellent food and everything in my room worked without fuss - the shower was especially nice. Checkout was quick and easy. Breakfast start from 8am - it would be grand if it could start from 7:30am. I do like an early start. However for those who want want earlier start, the staff will make alternate arrangements (in my case I had a mini frideg in my room with a cold breakfast).

We loved the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help. Food was excellent. Loved the rambling nature of the building(I think it's taken over three former houses which makes it quicker sometimes to go out of one front door and into another one to reach an adjacent room. Some people may find this a nuisance; for me it added to the charm of the place. We also loved the position, right by the Yarn Market. We were made to feel very welcome and immediately felt at home there. That is very important for me as a hotel guest. We were even met by a member of staff who came out to greet us as we were getting out of the car!

We found it a most relaxing break. Loved looking out of our windows at night into lit buildings, made it look quite magical. Enjoyed unique shops.

The location is superb. you are never far away from the sea or other towns and locations. Good breakfast and nice comfortable breakfast eating area. The two day free parking ticket is a bit annoying if you can't find a space when it has expired but you can get a replacement if you ask. Only a minor problem though.

I stayed with 2 friends in the family room for 2 nights when we attended a wedding at the Tithe Barn in Dunster. The greeting at reception was very welcoming, with good explanation about the parking areas nearby. If you aren't lucky enough to grab one directly outside there are spaces only a short walk away. The hotel, clearly in an old/period property, was well maintained. Decor slightly dated but totally acceptable given the type of property. We were extrememly impressed with the cleanliness of our room (the bathroom was immaculate!) and the breakfast/dining area. The young girls in the breakfast area were very polite, friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast had a great choice. The room had a thorough guide/info book/directory. Overall we were very pleased that we booked Yarn Market Hotel and should I need to visit the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Very friendly staff; good breakfasts; comfortable room; nice dinner menu; good bottled beers; adequate parking 5 minutes away; in the centre of the village Dining room fine for breakfast but lacked atmosphere/character for dinner; despite staying 3 days were unable to give me a parking permit to ocver all 3 - it covered only 2 dyas and tehn had to get another one

This was a trip down memory lane since my wife spent a lot of her early life in this part of the world. It was very pleasant except for the rain. The castle was excellent. A good trip well worth the money. The food was nothing to write home about. A medium steak should have some red meat at its centre

The staff were very helpful and polite, the breakfasts were excellent. The bedrooms well decorated. The bathroom had a notice, "shower attachments available, please find one hung on the back of the bathroom door" on the back of the bathroom door was a rubber hose about 4 feet long. Not the kind of facilities you expect when paying £50 per night per person. my husband is 70 and could not use the shallow bath, he would not have been able to get out of it.

Lovely setting. Clean comfortable room, clean modern bathroom. Wished I was staying longer to make the best of it. The breakfast was extremely disappointing. Tea was weak, bacon was tough as anything, eggs were swimming in fat, sausages were ordinary.

Rustig. Prettige ligging midden in een dorp. Goed ontbijt.

Bedroom was exceedingly comfortable and spacious and spotlessly clean. A warm welcome and they were very accomodating of our need to leave early and provided breakfast for us. Location was lovely in a very picturesque village and if you don't eat in the hotel there are tons of other places to try. I would definatley go again :) Nothing much - a very minor thing, it would be have been good if the bathroom fan went off quicker as it was quite noisy and stayed on for quite a while, ok during the day a bit noisy at night

We had a somewhat unfortunate stay at the hotel and would not stay there again, especially at the original rate which we later negotiated down with the hotel management. Our room was cold on arrival because the heating had been switched off. A fire alarm went off during the night because a water pipe leaked onto the alarm - so we all huddled outside with our shivering 4 year old. The next morning breakfast turned out to be a pre-cooked buffet, the eggs were cold and they ran out of bacon - and service was poor. The location is outstanding, but we could not understand the excellent rating the hotel appears to enjoy - that was not our personal experience.
