A relaxing Elizabethan Manor House which maintains its character and architectural features, with a great oak door giving access to the reception.
Score from 170 reviews Very good
In the heart of the Wye Valley, this traditional English country Inn overlooks the River Wye and ancient Goodrich Castle. It offers a modern Restaurant Grill and bright, airy rooms.
Score from 452 reviews Very good
Standing high above the River Wye, the Royal Hotel has fine river and countryside views. It offers traditional cuisine, free on-site parking and bedrooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 427 reviews Fabulous
The hotel is nestled just below Symonds Yat Rock and stands exclusively in grounds of almost 5 acres, overlooking the river. It has terraced gardens of magnolia trees and a well established wisteria.
Score from 100 reviews Very good
Situated on the lovely River Wye with some wonderful walks available immediately adjacent to the Inn. Good views from our room which was very clean and comfortable. Some good ales at the bar. The staff, seemingly all in their early twenties, were polite and attentive.
Unfortunately, both inside and out, there was a sense of neglect about the place. It was all a little tired. Food was decidedly average pub fare. However, it seems like extensive refurbishment is about to take place.
staff were really excellent and attentive, food was really well cooked and presented. Super breakfast.
we were last guests before a months shut down for some refurbishments and alterations...looking forward to returning so I can rate everything as excellent!
Old world charm together with superb peaceful location and excellent staff attitude. 1st class food. Good Car parking facilities
Steps to main door are narrow and difficult to negotiate when carrying cases particularly for elderly. Tender loving care needed in some instances.
Our party of five adults and two children a good stay here. We were well looked after by friendly staff and well fed at breakfast and dinner. Cosy bedrooms and inviting bar with log fires
Location, comfortable bed and excellent breakfast
Very helpful staff - relaxed and easy going - nice comfy bed - great views along the river - good for walking nearby - great breakfast (didn't have evening meal so can't comment on food generally) - lovely log fire in lounge area
Decor is a little tired, could do with updating at some stage, but clean and dry, so not really a complaint
Welcoming staff, roaring log fire in the bar lounge and the breaktast.
Really friendly polite staff. Clean and tidy room and en suite.
Good food good accommodation great location
Couldn't stay longer
The surrounding walks, food and the inn itself. Very friendly staff.
Ye olde ferrie inn is a fantastic place to stay the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming had a lovely stay.
Was welcomed as soon as we arrived and nothing was to much trouble. Lovely room and superb food. Will be back again.
Stunning views. Really friendly staff. Food is locally sourced and tastes great.
Only that I didn't get to see any kingfishers this time around.
A place full of character, excellent location, and welcoming staff. Good food also
The staff were excellent. It has a great atmosphere and is a superb location. The hotel is very old so you have to respect that it won't be as clean and efficient as a modern hotel but we had everything we needed and the food was great.
The carpets are a bit old and smell.
Jamie and staff very welcoming and helpful.
location, location, location.... food, friendly helpful staff, walking in the area
a little TLC to bedroom/bathroom would make say even better
Staff helpfulness and excellent breakfast
ensuite facility cheap and nasty
The River View. Jamie & his team. The room and bathroom - piping hot water. Good selection of beers. The unpretentiousness and friendliness.
friendliness & hospitality of Jamie & staff.Excellent bedroom & bathroom facilities. Fab location .Very tasty breakfast & main meals. very well stocked bar.Large carpark
The Location on the river. The friendly helpful staff. The food was very good
The wood chip wallpaper in the poorly furnished room. The coloured old bathroom suite. No blind in the bathroom. The whole place was tatty and for £95 per night not good value.
The view from our room was excellent being able to see both up and down the river.breakfast was excellent great choices even had Marmite!
Directions re fire exit was not evident ,the manager was advised on what should be done to remedy.
Jamie and his staff are very friendly and helpful. The accommodation is excellent - the rooms have beautiful views over the river and are bright, airy and well-equipped. If I was to be ultra picky then perhaps a couple extra power sockets in the rooms would be good, but this is a very minor point. The food is excellent - plenty of choice and a good price and always nicely presented. The range of beers, ciders and wines is good too. All in all this is a fantastic place to stay.
There was nothing at all to dislike.
The local walks by the river. The ferry. Watching Kingfishers from the bedroom window. Good breakfasts. Friendly staff.
Location on the river, bird song, seeing a kingfisher. Decent pub grub & friendly service.
Confusion on arrival over booking. Not cheap at £85 a night.
