Ye Olde Anchor Inn, set in the medival town of Ruthin, offers the perfect spot to spend a night whilst touring North Wales.
The 18th century inn, with its low ceilings and oak beams, used to be a stopping place for drovers on their way from Holyhead to Shropshire. Now there's always a welcome from the owners Stephanie and David. Since they took over Ye Olde Anchor Inn in June 2003 they have transformed the accommodation and established a reputation for quality cuisine.

Food & beverage
Enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the oak-beamed cosy bar, divided into 3 sections, with a log fire. A bar-snack menu is available.
Serving fine food at modest prices, everything is cooked to order using fresh ingredients, delivered daily - you really will appreciate the difference in taste. Only the best local produce is used, such as Welsh beef and lamb raised in animal-friendly, free-range conditions.
Enjoy a choice from either the daily bar menu or the new Malthouse Menu. Special diets or preferences can be catered for, with advance notice.
Area information
There is so much to do locally at all times of the year, spectacular scenery, mountains, waterfalls, cascading rivers, canals, steam railways, slate mines, ancient history, industrial history, historic buildings, excellent walks for all ages and fitness and much more besides.
North Wales also has a spectacular coastline and it is all so easily accessible using our hotel as a base. Do not forget that Llangollen, as well as hosting The International Eisteddfod every July, is also the festival capital of Wales, with events at The Royal Pavilion throughout the year.
