It's clear that money has been well spent on this hotel. It's always a pleasure to stay. This was my 3rd stay. I'll definitely come back again.
Lovely room with great facilities. I was made to feel welcome.
Breakfast was adequate but could have improved with more choice. I had my breakfast after several others and the supplies hadn't been topped up. I asked for brown toast and was told there was only white!
Location was good.
The bed with the bedbugs!!! Old windows impossible to close. Noisy pub guests up to 1 am. No rest whatsoever.
Loved the location, walked every morning after breakfast down along the river nene. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and the staff are very friendly especially Liz who serves breakfast. We had a lovely stay.
Nice atmosphere friendly staff pleasant all round stay definitely recommend to anyone
Staff were fab service was amazing and was just ideal for our visit
This was our second stay at the Griffin; whilst visiting family in March. We had a very friendly welcome to the newly refurbished hotel. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean (room no.1), we found everything more than adequate for our overnight stay.
In retrospect we would have preferred a room at the back, away from the road. We couldn't get WiFi in our room!
recently refurbished friendly staff good value centre of town free parking
pub customers are a bit rough!
The friendliness on arrival. We were warned about the music, but we didn't hear it from the room. No problem.
The Breakfast was rather sparse, quite surprising considering the stay was good value for money.
Friendly staff and room great. Visisted a week before they were due to be refurbished and was pleasantly surprised. Cant wait to see it afterwards!
Breakfast a little limited. More choice would have been nice
Very friendly and polite. Wide variation of food and drink.
BBC channels on Television did not work, even though everything else did. This was the only channel I wanted to watch that evening and did not want to go down to the bar to watch it as had a very tiring day.
the cooked breakfast was basic, but nice. Bacon, egg, beans, sausage toast. Good quality sausage! The room was clean and the towels were lovely and big and quite fluffy.
the downstairs pub area was a bit "sticky" and stale in the morning for breakfast; anyone who has worked in a pub should know what i mean by that. I guess you can't expect anything else from somewhere that is a pub until late on a Saturday night. Overall, the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay! I would stay there again.
Very good location central
I loved this hotel. Good basic facilities but clean and tidy. I took my 3 dogs with me and were as welcome as i was. Food served all day and was lovely. Staff were really nice and couldn't be more welcoming or helpful
They do have very loud music on friday and saturday nights and the location is on a main street so may not be good if you are a light sleeper
Great location and friendly staff.Good food and atmosphere and comfortable room.Would visit again.
Convenient location. Clean rooms. Free parking.
Dinner in the evening we decided to eat in the pub 2 of the roast dinners gravy had dried up on plates asked if we could have some more gravy and charged £1.25 seemed petty after all we had paid out for hotel accommodation (2 rooms) and 4 evenings meals and drinks. May have been nice to waive the nominal charge.
Being looked after like we were close friends/family, & the friendliness of staff. Did not hear any noise from public area due to consideration of Mgr, Lee.
As it was summer with no air conditioning in room it was a bit stuffy at night. Could not leave window open due to traffic noise.
Right on the town centre close to everything, the noise was fine being a pub downstairs also the room was comfitable and clean.
All ok good night life bed comfortable
1 towel was dirty
Both the staff & the locals were very friendly which made our stay a really relaxing one. Disco not too loud and room very comfortable. Food very good at reasonable prices.
all of it
We were well received, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. Considering there was a disco in full swing until 1am we slept very well and we did not need the ear with the plugs which were supplied with the hospitality tray, never come across that before, very thoughtful though.
Unfortunately the Hotel had a problem with the cold water (there wasn't any) this was a small inconvenience, the good out-weighed the bad.
Really good shower and comfy bed with good bedding.
Little bit rough around the edges, some bits looked a bit shabby e.g. Tiles in bathroom had been painted.
Location wise it is great, staff were friendly and cleanliness was good
Yes they have a Dj at night but it states so before you book so this isn't really a complaint just another heads up
Reasonable value for money, Accommodation clean and well presented. Staff helpful. Good evening meal.
Breakfast was adequate but no offer of toast and marmalade or fruit juice.
