cozy hotel cozy room great food fab staff
Great staff great breakfast lovely stay
The food is good
I wasn't told at time of booking the bar turns into a nightclub at 10pm and the disco carries on til 2am
the staff were great, breakfast waitress was very very good.
Room were to warm could do with a window that opened.
Have stayed at the Griff many times and will always do so providing it is not full!! Food is of a good enough varied standard and price, similarly the choice of real ales. Will return again as always.
Bathroom door handle and lock did not work
We found the staff welcoming and had nice atmosphere. Food freshly cooked and very nice. The hotel was clean, good location in centre of town with parking facilities. The bed was comfortable and was able to get a good nights sleep once disco had finished.
Windows didn't close properly to shut out the noise from the beer garden of an evening which can get very loud however earplugs are provided.
breakfast was good..friendly staff..
Staff very helpful, nice decor and good atmosphere.
The bed was not a double as booked. The noise did not subside until 2.30 am and then woken at six by street cleaners followed by town clock chimes
Friendly staff, decent-sized room with a fair amount of tea, coffee, etc. to hand, plus the inclusion of free ear-plugs to accommodate for nights when there is karaoke (and typical Friday/Saturday night activity). Breakfast has a reasonable choice of options, and location provides relatively easy access to surrounding towns and cities.
Access to rooms is restricted to the door key only - despite the presence of security doors and accompanying card swipe systems, these do not seem to be in operation, resulting in general access to the hotel area of the property.
value for money, good breakfast. very pleased they informed us about disco on till 2am. they do provide earplugs. lovely village.
be prepared to stay up late if staying on saturdays.
Great location to stay if you are SkyDiving. Nice room, comfy bed and buzzing.
Can get a bit noisy on a Friday night as it is a busy bar and the early morning Saturday market
It's clear that money has been well spent on this hotel. It's always a pleasure to stay. This was my 3rd stay. I'll definitely come back again.
Lovely room with great facilities. I was made to feel welcome.
Breakfast was adequate but could have improved with more choice. I had my breakfast after several others and the supplies hadn't been topped up. I asked for brown toast and was told there was only white!
Location was good.
The bed with the bedbugs!!! Old windows impossible to close. Noisy pub guests up to 1 am. No rest whatsoever.
Loved the location, walked every morning after breakfast down along the river nene. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and the staff are very friendly especially Liz who serves breakfast. We had a lovely stay.
Nice atmosphere friendly staff pleasant all round stay definitely recommend to anyone
Staff were fab service was amazing and was just ideal for our visit
This was our second stay at the Griffin; whilst visiting family in March. We had a very friendly welcome to the newly refurbished hotel. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean (room no.1), we found everything more than adequate for our overnight stay.
In retrospect we would have preferred a room at the back, away from the road. We couldn't get WiFi in our room!
recently refurbished friendly staff good value centre of town free parking
pub customers are a bit rough!
The friendliness on arrival. We were warned about the music, but we didn't hear it from the room. No problem.
The Breakfast was rather sparse, quite surprising considering the stay was good value for money.
Friendly staff and room great. Visisted a week before they were due to be refurbished and was pleasantly surprised. Cant wait to see it afterwards!
Breakfast a little limited. More choice would have been nice
Very friendly and polite. Wide variation of food and drink.
BBC channels on Television did not work, even though everything else did. This was the only channel I wanted to watch that evening and did not want to go down to the bar to watch it as had a very tiring day.
the cooked breakfast was basic, but nice. Bacon, egg, beans, sausage toast. Good quality sausage! The room was clean and the towels were lovely and big and quite fluffy.
the downstairs pub area was a bit "sticky" and stale in the morning for breakfast; anyone who has worked in a pub should know what i mean by that. I guess you can't expect anything else from somewhere that is a pub until late on a Saturday night. Overall, the staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our stay! I would stay there again.
Very good location central
