The price for a twin room was the cheapest around (though had I booked earlier with a chain motel then I could have significantly undercut this). Plenty of hot water. I was attracted to this B&B because it was part of a free-house. However, the beers were all electric and the majority were lagers. The standard of cleaning was poor (eg someone's old socks under the bed with other assorted rubbish). No tea/coffee facilities in the room; there was a tea/coffee machine was at the end of the hall (but the output from this was mediocre and insufficient to make up flasks for going into the hills). Cannot comment on the breakfast.

1. The previous occupants had been smoking in the room, there was even an ashtray provided. 2. The bathroom was not clean, it looked as if the same cloth had been used for cleaning the sink and the floor as there were hairs & muck on the sink. 3. There were missing batteries from teh television controls and the girl on recepption was unable to provide any replacements. 4. The chef was "away at a comedy evening" and the restuarant was not available on the evening I stayed. (probably a good thing as I found a very good restuarant in the town) 5. The coffee machine on the landing was not connected to a water supply and was empty in eh evening and again in teh morning. 6. The building is generally run down, the landing steps are broken & appear to be about to collapse.

Immediate entrance very dreary, stairs to rooms very near mens toilet with door left wide open, so not pleasant at all, no kettle etc for making tea or coffee in room, had to get hot drinks from a drinks machine along the corridor, bear in mind an older friend has poor balance and would have not managed to carry a hot drink to the room safely. Fire escape a disgrace, tins of paint etc... mattresses, bed bases, newspapers, as well as ladders piled down the stair way - if we had looked there on the evening we would not have stayed. Live music on the evening but not told about when we arrrived - Asked for breakfast for 9:30am - but dining room not open when we vacated our rooms at 9:15am, so went to another bar for food. Shower not suitable for use in one of the rooms - the list is endless, One good thing was that the sheets and towels were clean..

Our room had only a skylight that didnt have a workinng blind. The tv never worked. It stank of stale smoke. The soil pipe on the toilet was leaking. Tiles were falling off the wall. The stairs on the landing are a health and safety issue. The breakfast was disgusting. You should NOT promote hotel on your website.

Fluffy duvets and easy to find location. Staff were friendly. Wall decorations were tasteful and cheery. The accommodation was up to the standards you'd expect for its price in Britain. Most depressing grey/brown carpet in the world - like time travelling into the 1970s. There was a battery in the ashtray on the bedside table, leading me to suspect that cleaning is not entirely thorough / attention to detail is a bit poor.

The sheets and towels were clean ,water was hot and plentiful . The room was dirty ,under the bed there was rubbish ,a pencil and money ,holes in the walls the valance sheets were stained .i didn't dare look at the mattress . I owned a bed and breakfast and cleanliness doesn't cost much .we didn't have a kettle in our room instead we had the facility of a machine down the hall ,which meant getting dressed to be able to use it ,it was out of coffee in the evening and by morning had no water !!! The area around the machine wasn't cleaned from one day to the next . We came to Wales for a funeral and the OLdie Red Lion was the nearest to the venue .thankfully we were only there for two nights .on the first morning when there was no water in the machine we went to the dining room looking for hot water thankfully not breakfast the member of staff brought us a tea pot of water but couldn't find a tea bag ,we stuck to the grime and stickiness of the table and had to use milk from a paper carton Don't go here .health inspector ,health and safety ,,hotel inspector please all go here It cost £45 per night for a twin room
