The two ladies on the desk when we checked in were brilliant. I'm sorry I don't know their names, but they were friendly and very helpful with restaurant recommendations. Professional as well as very friendly. Great first impression!
The mattress was quite hard, but I am used to a very soft mattress so just my preference rather than an issue
i particular assistant who could not have been more helpful
The bed was very comfortable, nice big room, lovely staff.
Noisy, we were subject to some very loud extremely bad language from the bar next door. This was day and early evening. Late at night the was just a nice buzz of noise which was more except able. The towels are mean. Far too small and mostly threadbare. Go to the Bloc hotel gat wick airport to find a good bath towel.
Clealiness Staff was very helpful and friendly Food
close transport links, friendly and helpful service and good food too.
Central location means v. busy area and resulting noise from street - perhaps request a room away from the front of the hotel if you are a light sleeper
Staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them. A very comfortable hotel convenient for the ferry.
Noise from pub next door til late into the night
Main Hotel was welcoming, Staff were polite. Location was perfect for me. Breakfast was great value.
Rooms were very hot and when window was open there was a lot of noise outside especially as in the annexe the fire door was used as a walk through from the rear car park and this slammed every time someone walked through.
Room, tea and coffee Dinner and breakfast both varied and excellent
Location Breakfast Car Parking Good size room
Noise from beer garden Noise from bin collection at 6.15 in the morning
This hotel is very close to the seafront on the main street. Close to shops and public transport and the ferrry. Perfect size of the room
Our room was facing the street and it was SO noise in the weekend with people just outside the window until 3am - no sleep for us those nights. Rooms to the street should not be rented out on weekends.
Helpful staff when I requested a change of room due to fire escape issues. One was found for me no problems.Breakfast excellent choice.Bed linen very clean and crisp.Good location
Noise problem at front of hotel fri/sat night, decor a bit dated.Signage for rooms a bit confusing and smaller key fob would be appreciated
No one bothered you. Breakfast was ample and good quality, though the hash browns would be better left out from under the lid with the scrambled eggs, as they became soggy.
Toilet was mounted on a plinth about 6" higher than normal, that was painful at times to sit on. Noise from Pub next door. Carpets have seen better days. Towels were small, even my wife who is 5' and 7 stone thought so too. Tea and Coffee in the room could be better quality. floorboards could do with screwing down as the creak when stepped on outside the room
Due to the room facing Daflo,s the late night noise could be heard so it can take a while to sleep Maybe a reduce in price or Good Soundproof windows would help
Clean friendly very nice hotel.
The location is perfect for transport links to take you to all the best places on the Island. It is also very close to a good choice of bars & restaurants although the bar & restaurant at the Hotel itself are fabulous. Lovely, friendly staff, very comfortable & really good value for money. We'll definitely be back
The room was fine and the staff were good.
Night time noise. The hotel is situated on a main route, and close to late night drinking places. The street noise went on until 2.00 am, The traffic started again at 5.30 am.
Location. Helpful staff.
Not clean. Window frames are dirty. Tables on patio dirty from smokers. Breakfast eggs were tasteless. Went to café across the street. Hotel is long walk from the ferry pier and up a steep hill. Take a cab.
Staff were very kind and did their best to make me comfortable, even to changing my room. the food was excellent.
I liked every thing.
Excellent service from staff, particularly the receptionists who went out of their way for me with the car parking facilities..
Wish it had a lift as I was on the second floor, a lot of stairs!...
The hotel's location near the harbour was convenient for us. It is a cosy hotel with a family character. We had a spacious room, which actually is made of two rooms. The personnel was very kind and helpful. The English breakfast was good, and there were additional items available such as muesli and yoghurt.
The sound isolation is very modest, in particular the windows towards the street. It is a small challenge to carry a large and heavy suitcase to second floor, because there is no lift.
Stayed two nights staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and beds comfy. Breakfast was nice and food hot. We had an evening meal in the hotel which was also very nice and served by very polite staff Would stay at this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family
Its a steep climb to reach hotel but good news there are bus that stop at top
Good friendly service, excellent breakfast, central location.
Stains on carpet, some noise from below (loud conversation) cleaning could have been better.
Location is undoubtedly good - right on Union Street close to lots of restaurants and easy walking distance to Sea front, Pier and Hover. Price for a single room including full breakfast was very competitive especially given the location. Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
Room decor was dated and in need of maintenance. Furniture was old fashioned. Drawer handle broken. Wardrobe door wouldn't close. Poor quality hangers. Bathroom window had no blinds. My room was clean but not cleaned well - TV remote had dust that was stuck down. Bathroom had hairs around the washbasin. No bath floor mat and very poor quality towels.Sheets had been changed but a sticker from the packaging was left stuck to the desk! TV was mounted on the wall but couldn't change angle to view from anywhere (e.g. bed) except directly in front.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of cupboard space, shower room was very big. Lots of towels, shampoo, tea and coffee. Very good for the price.
Breakfast waitresses were very slow and not very informative. Buffet style breakfast, but there were other options if you saw the very very small sign on the cereal table.
