Really lovely room, with lots of excellent reading!
Room was great, well kept and clean. The Owner was very nice and welcoming even though we arrived late in the evening. Breakfast was prompt, tasty and included! Great value for a short stay in the area!
There was no WIFI in our room (no 5) which was a shame as we were only there in the late evening so didn't feel we could sit in the lounge to use it without having to be very quiet. The signal just dropped off 2m from our room door. Could have done with more than two thin pillows on the double bed.
Location once found.
Had to fiddle around with WiFi settings to get my android devices to work.
Rural but convenient location. Very clean.
A little lacking in character, resembled a motel room.
We really enjoyed our stay. The bedroom was very clean and the bathroom had a really deep bath, very nice. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly.
The staff were really helpful and friendly, the room was large, comfortable and quiet. the breakfast was excellent.
Poor or non existent mobile phone signal and poor wifi connection.
Quiet.
Owner seemed business-like, not unpleasant, but no warmth (but others may see it differently). Nice residents' lounge, rooms spacious and clean if a bit dark, but it felt like everything was calculated. OK if you just want a room for a night or two, but not for a friendly stay. Breakfast a bit on the sparse side for the cost of the stay. Mobile signal weak if at all.
large room quiet location well furnished
room dark needed lights on during daytime
peaceful surroundings privacy and freedom to come and go large, light sitting room with beautiful books on countryside etc efficiency of service excellent breakfast, except g/f issue (see note on right) wonderfully tucked away situation, though v. near main road and Dorchester our hostess, once we had got to know her!
bed rather small for my 6ft 4in husband and only one pillow provided for each of us no capacity to provide for gluten free diet: assumption that we would bring own bread; no knowledge re suitable g/f cereals slightly difficult to find and no precise directions given. matter of fact greeting - not particularly warm welcome on arrival..
Its location (just outside Dorchester) was perfect for exploring the surrounding countryside, including the coast which was beautiful. The information provided was comprehensive, including numerous good places to eat, all within short (driving) distances and (from our experience) very good. The location was quiet and we had the best nights' sleep there of our holiday !
We had no criticisms. It was a little bit more expensive than comparative accommodation elsewhere, but that may have reflected the location and time of year (school holiday period in July).
Clean & Comfortable. Quiet - well off the road. Good central location for touring the Dorset coast - easy to go east or west. Easy access off the A35. Good host - Kay. Good breakfast. Beautiful horses in the pastures.
Nothing
Ideal location, quiet venue, no fuss and very nice en-suite room. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk in room. Spacious ambience in lounge.
Cleanliness, breakfast, proprietor, secluded location, parking. Informative books and leaflets. Comfortable lounge area.
Wifi could do with a booster to cover all bedrooms.
Lovely room, spotlessly clean, a lovely guest lounge, plenty I of books on area and wildlife, nice breakfast, good location.
We needed a mirror near a plug to blow dry hair, the only criticism .
Cleanliness
Lack of ambience, homely feel Basic breakfast
The dog
Too cold, looks more like a motel than a farm Not good value for money
Everything. Location was easy to find. Friendliness, Kay was very helpful. Breakfast eas lovely.
Nothing.
The location was beautiful. Cleanliness of the whole place. Relaxed nature of the whole experience. Vegetarian breakfast was good even though their veggie order hadn't arrived.
Not SatNav friendly. Small entrance sign which is easily missed (as I did).
The quiet location, the country surroundings yet good connections by main road closeby. Excellent pub restaurant very near. Very clean, pleasant room and good ensuite. Plenty of cupboard and drawer space in room and bathroom. Attentive service and good breakfast. Pleasant large lounge and much interesting literature relevant to the area and Thomas Hardy.
Towel small (hand towel)Would have liked a bath towel size but towels were lovely and thick and absorbent. A very minor dislike.
