Very good,
Score from 76 reviews
“ Comfy bed, friendly staff, nice breakfast ”
Sarah,
Thames Ditton
The Olde Bell is a modernised 5-star coaching inn providing Ilse Crawford designed restful rooms with a rustic elegance. Some parts date back as far as 1135 and it has kept some of its original design features. The Olde Bell is a 45-minute drive from Central London, and 20 miles from Heathrow. The M4 motorway is less than a 6-mile drive away and Temple Golf Club is a mile away. In warmer months, enjoy local ales and food from the ‘summer kitchen’ in the huge meadow garden. In winter, open fires create an inviting cosiness in the main bar. Free Wi-Fi internet is available throughout. Inn: 48 rooms The most recent booking for this hotel was made on 20 Jun at 04:45 from United Kingdom.

Nice decor in the room (45). Smart bathroom. Outstanding breakfast buffet! The Lodge is a little anticlimactic from the outside and a little musty on the inside.

beautiful location interior design of communal areas summer kitchen comfortable beds we were not given the room type we actually booked which is inexcusable... no claw foot bath, no aesop products, no historic features! many issues throughout our stay... staff were working hard, but seemed unorganised and poorly equipped to handle the amount of guests booked in... service was particularly slow in the bar & restaurant... on the whole reasonably clean, but might be time for a more thorough spring clean (blinds, windowsills, shower floor & bedroom walls needed some attention in our room)

Very nice room, but direct over the bar. Given price (£275 for first night / £310 for second night) I think this aspect of the room should have been flagged in advance. For £275/£310 you expect to be able to get a good night's sleep.

The dinner was very good and the breakfast also was great. The area was lovely - quiet and pretty and lovely for walks The rooms were very very small and extremely overpriced for what they were. There was nowhere at all in the room to put our bags or really unpack clothes. The room was on a carpark(!) so not in a nice area at all and this was not clear on the website or when booking. The lunch in the bar area was tiny - my partner had sausages and mash and the amount of mashed potato was laughable. The website is generally deceptive and gives a totally incorrect or perhaps out of date idea of the place. The website makes the rooms luxurious and clean and stylish and this was not the case. Our room was cramped and not that stylish and could've done with a lick of paint. Noone explained the facilities (mentioned any walks nearby or locals pubs or excursions or any of the hotel facilities ie tennis courts etc) when we booked in and we were not taken to our room.

The room was goregous as was the bathroom however the shower was just dreadful. The pressure was not there at all and the temperature, although fully on hot was cold with the odd surge of warm. Not a pleasant experience at all. Very disappointing given the rest of the room and hotel was lovely.
