The Olde BellHigh St, Hurley, SL6 5LX Hurley (Show map) Excellent, Score from 32 reviews“We really enjoyed the location and surrounding countryside, very beautiful with lots of wildlife.”
Emma,
London
This modernized, 5-star traveler's inn provides restful rooms with a rustic elegance, and simple, tasty local food. Parts of the building date back to 1135, and the inn’s crooked floors and modest decor stylishly echo its origin. The Olde Bell is one hour from Central London, and 20 minutes from Heathrow using public transportation. In warmer months, enjoy local ales and food from the ‘summer kitchen’ in the huge meadow garden. In winter, there are cozy open fires. Wi-Fi internet is available. Hotel Rooms: 47

I was surprised to find there was no bar available to residents and amazed to find out that the bar closed at between 10 and 10.30pm on a Saturday evening

The Olde Bell is a really lovely hotel in an idealic setting near the river Thames. Our room in the main hotel was very comfortable and came with with a large bath and walk in shower also. The bar downstairs was very rustic and atmospheric with a large open fire. The restuarant was very large and spacious and both the staff and food were excellent, all in all, what with the weather being fine also for the time of year, made this a truly memorable stay. The food and drink was in our opinion, slightly on the expensive side for what we had and there was limited choice if you didnt eat fish and some meats. Room only included a buffet breakfast, not a full english as displayed.

Quaint but with beautiful rooms. Attentive staff. No hairdryer in room but I'm sure one would've been provided if asked for.

Dinner No place at all to store your clothes. One radiator was making a lot of noice so we could not sleep. In the middle of the night we were supposed to change room and had to pass over a small street in our bathrobes and went upstairs in the main building to get some sleep in a quiet room. There was also a wedding going on with some noices that we could hear when we could not sleept in the first room without to open the window because of the heeted radiator.

Bathroom was very nicely appointed. Staff seemed decent and competent The room I stayed in looked directly onto a car park and was adjacent to an industrial yard. The view was of a Ford Fiesta grill 1m from the window. The industrial yard was also 1m away from the room wall. It is outrageous to charge gbp 120 pounds for a room situated in such an appalling location. I was woken up twice during the night due to the noise level in the room. If I had paid GBP 30 to stay I would not have complained. The hotel reduced the rate which was a welcome gesture but it still did not make up for the discomfort of the stay.

My husband and I have recently celebrated our 25th wedding Anniversary and I booked the weekend site seeing as a suprise for him and an opportunity to get away from it all and relax for a few days. We had a fantastic time exploring the local conrtyside and the 'Old Bell' is amazing ,relaxed, comfortable with stunning gardens, friendly staff and a 'Rubarb creme brule' to die for. We will be booking again very soon Expensive...would like to have checked out a little later...but we can not complain a tall

The best thing about the Olde Bell was it's charming rooms. The dining area was grande but still retained lots of old world character. bedrooms were beautifully furnished and staff were very welcoming and helpful.

We really enjoyed the location and surrounding countryside, very beautiful with lots of wildlife. We were initially put in a very small room which we didn't like, located over the road from the hotel, but the staff were brilliant and moved us to the main building immediately.

The food was excellent. I asked for a room in the old building but was allocated a room in the barn. There was no wardrobe. I was looking forward to a good soak in the bath but there was only a shower.

The design of the rooms was very good and the food was good, Wish a fridge was in my suite and would also liked normal jam to have been offered at breakfast, not just the farm jam.

I viewed the website before my trip and it was exactly spot on. Thank you to the Olde Bell staff and management for creating such a lovely environment. Would love to return hopefully soon, plus lovely walk along the river which took us to the Black Boy Inn which unfortunately was not in the same league due to a very disagreeable owner, so off we all strolled back to Hurley Village just lovely.
