Disco under our window until 1.00 a.m
We attended a function at the hotel and the food there and for the English Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely airy bedroom (we were there in a heatwave)
Nice room .pleasant staff.lots of hot water .warm room.
Windows didn't shut properly.thought meal was a bit expensive for what I got, husbands OK .
Welcome. Ambience. Rooms
Breakfast times didn't fit my schedule. 7am start would have helped. I didn't have breakfast either day... Too late for me at 730 start.
excellent staff very friendly and helpful beautiful room excellent food we had a great time
Staff were very friendly & attentive. Overall opinion of the stay was positive.
I thought the food (evening meal) menu was a little expensive. Although the hotel B&B rate was competitive.
Really friendly staff, good for business travellers
Booking.com need to give better directions for drivers. The post code covers a vast area and a sat nav can take you up to 5 miles away (but on the right road).....the staff say it is a common problem so why not fix it Booking.com?
Lovely place, good atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff
To really nit-pick - the parking was a bit tight!
Very good food, excellent service. A really good stay
A smell of paint(?) in the bedroom
The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were luxurious. We were in the newer courtyard area which is apparently nicer than the older rooms!
The obliging staff plus the breakfast !!
The fact that we were upgraded to a supreme double room that was quite seperate to the main hotel & unfortunately had not been hoovered & wasn't particularly clean in the toilet area which had a distinct odour. The staff found us a different room albeit not an upgraded one.
Overall ambience & cosy atmosphere. Staff all very professional.
Family type friendly staff who were interested in you having a good time.
Lack of car parking at night
Nice environment, good food
Booked a Double room, with single occupancy On arrival I was given a single, and was told that is what I had booked. I hadn't and the paperwork confirmed the same. Fortunately the room was changed to the correct one
Luxury room bed size small for a double Was not told wedding on and we were above a disco Slow service at breakfast due to wedding party
good location great room
The staff very nice to us the food was amazing and the room was outstanding we love it that much we are having our wedding vows there next year. Beautiful hotel
Nice restaurant and the food was fabulous. Situated in a very quaint location. The rooms were very nicely equipped
The noise was terrible. I was in room 26 and at 12pm the generator kicked in outside my room so couldnt sleep. The heat all over the hotel ii unbearable with no air conditioning and little ventilation. They really should provide fans! There are scenes all over the hotel as regards fox hunting. Not all of us are into 'blood sports' and can see this as offensive
The friendly staff. Good food. Nice quiet hotel on the garden side.
We had a suite and the bed was rather small and not very comfortable!
Excellent really good hotel friendly staff made me very welcome a truly brilliant place to go & stay
We liked the location and the friendly staff. The food was wholesome. The vintage atmosphere that is why we agreed to stay in the Lady Jane suite.
The shower did not work well. There is no lift and we carried our luggage by hand. We were charged £58.- more for Friday night and by the time we were able to sleep it was 2.30a.m.as there was a party and the loud music was drumming away beneath our window.Very tiring and disappointing night. Our stay for 2 nights cost us £501.30 in total which in our opinion was not value for money. Pity as we really looked forward to our visit at The Olde Bell.
