YHA Beer is 8 minutes’ walk from the village of Beer, which is situated on the 95-mile long Jurassic Coast, England's first natural World Heritage Site. The hostel offers scuba diving courses for beginners as well as experienced divers. Mackerel fishing and fossil hunting can be enjoyed on the local beach, which is just 15 minutes’ walk. Pecorama Pleasure Gardens are 0.5 miles away and feature the Beer Heights Light Railway and an exhibition of model railways. A 24-hour reception, garden and self-catering kitchen are featured at YHA beer, as well as an on-site restaurant, shop and TV lounge. The food on offer was very good and the staff very welcoming. Since my last stay the facilities have been noticeably upgraded and as it was empty provided a peaceful place to stay.

Friendly staff who were very helpful and accommodating. Nothing really - we should have taken soap with us which I don't think was mentioned beforehand and a problem as soap containers in bathrooms were nearly empty.

Arrived late and staff were very accommodating. Same applied to the chef who made breakfast the following morning. Bargain at £4.99. Also puchased half-price YHA membership whilst there.
