YHA Borrowdale  

The location was just a short drive from Keswick and the walks all around were brill , the accommodation was good ,clean and tidy . The food was excellent evening meal and breakfast , and a nice bar too.

The rain on day two but still had a great two days thank you.

At the end of the wettest day of our coast to coast walk to find a great welcome, a drying room and a delicious hot meal was truly wonderful. I was completely surprised with the great facilities - not like the YHA's of my youth. I'd use others now.

We had booked a bunkroom for 6 males...when we arrived they were expecting 1 female!!!!!!!!! Luckily they had a room free. 2 fridges out of action and very little space to store our food.. 1 gas hob unit completely out of order

All the staff made us very welcome nothing was too much trouble. Very surprised how much yha have changed since my last visit many years ago. It’s in a perfect location in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District with some of the best walks on your doorstep.

2 nights not long enough

Warm rooms, nice bar, great selection of meals and vast breakfast menu (at a reasonable price!)

i liked everything about the place, first time i had stopped in a YH and i will do again.

Rm 15 lower bunk, very, very noisy. Couln't turn the radiator off. Upper bunk not quite long enough for 6 footer/ the usual ladder really hurts the feet

Very impressed with location & venue & the staff were very friendly. Liked the fact that it was used by people who were doing an outdoor type actvity & NOT for as a drinking place for people on a boozy nite out.

Couldn't understand why it closed at noon on the Sunday ???

I like everything. But when I was travelling to Windermere. A car behind me stopped me because I crossed the line in a narrow road. He called the police and tried to make me some troubles for nothing. He really did the best to make trouble. This guy was working in Yha as manager. The policeman was very comprehensive and understood that I didn't make any big mistakes. The police told me that he can't stop me and acting as policeman. For these reason, I will not recommend YHA to my friends.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was a wonderful place to stay. Prime location for our Scarfell pike climb. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the equipment and staff were very freindly and helpful. Would recommend it to everyone :o)

A friendly and welcoming Youth Hostel - Borrodale and the countryside was brilliant - climbed Castle Cragg and Cat Bells. Regular buses and amenities in Keswick. Will book again later in the year, or next year.
