The staff was absolutely amazing, really helpfull. The location is great, there is a lot of trees around and a small pub nearby. I loved it. Nearby road but this is not something that can be changed.

Excellent food and we were brilliantly looked after by the staff. Thanks very much! Facilities very basic in rooms. Small chest of draws and hanging space for clothes would have been handy.

This was my first stay at a youth hostel - for what we were paying I'd expected 'budget' (and yes it was a small room with bunk beds, bedding provided but we put the sheets & duvet covers on) but the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the food was excellent.

Really enjoyed the location and scenery, gorgeous surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities suited our needs. There was little public transport available nearby and the main town was a fair walk

1. Extremely helpful, hospitable and very friendly staff. 2. Comfortable and clean sleeping arrangements. 3. Quite excellent breakfast. Exceptional value for money. 4. Good range of basic facilities (self-catering kitchen, dining room and common room, parking and grounds). 5. Location and convenience for walking Brecon Beacons, Black Mountain and Black Mountains. We've given this some considerable thought and concluded there is nothing walkers/backpackers booking hostel accommodation could possibly dislike about yha Brecon.

Perfect location. Diane and the team were very friendly and accommodating. It was great that we were able to clean our bikes and had secure storage. We had dinner at the pub around the corner (three horseshoes) it was fantastic. Good breakfast before we set off.

Very friendly & useful staff and good atmosphere. Haven't stayed at a hostel for 20 years - will definitely do so again soon. TV room and lounge a bit small - wouldn't be great if weather was poor

Staff is friendly and helpful. Everything's clean and very tidy. Overall, good value for money. It would help if there are more toilets / showers (in my view, the current number is barely sufficient).

A really pleasant hostel with very welcoming staff. There is a very steep slope up to the car park which can be tricky to negotiate if approaching from the left.

The staff at YHA was wonderful! From reception to kitchen staff, the people went out of their way to make us feel at home. The evening meal and breakfast were both very good, and quite a good value. Bedding was fresh and comfortable. As this was our first stay in a youth hostel, we reserved a twin (or couples) room, that was very small, and cold. Toilet facilities were shared between many more people than I expected, but since we have limited experience with hostels this may be the norm. Common areas were a bit tired, as were the rooms.
