Located next to a busy motorway. Too many beds in the room. Far out from city centre. Public transport very limited. Unable to sleep in narrow bunks. Staff not on hand after hours.
We loved the young atmosphere here. Prefect I'd you need cheap accommodation after a night out (and don't mind sharing a room with other people who might also arrive in the middle of the night and wake you up unintentionally).
Even though we expected it, the lack of sleep we got...
Even if there are 14 females in a room, the area is spacious. Sinks, toilets and showers in the room.
Our room was separate from the rest of the hostel which meant we weren't disturbed by other hostellers at all. We were still quite near the communal facilities though.
The hostel is near a very noisy road.
Helpful staff, private en-suite dorm, convenient location in our case for visiting relatives who live nearby (but in a home too small to accommodate everyone), but also adjacent to Roath Park (boating lake, cafe, botanical gardens etc.)
Noise from other guests in the early hours of the morning disturbed our sleep.
Facilities, room and overall stay was great.
Could have done with more staff. Service was quite slow.
Staff were lovely, rooms were great beds were comfy!
Lack of plug sockets!! Room of 6people and only 2 sockets!!!
Property run down. Wifi not working in room 9.
Location and staff friendliness. Staff did try and fix room issues for me. I would come back again.
Room I booked by agent was not passed on to YHA so only got standard room. Tried to use WiFi but was unable to connect successfully despite having correct password. This location is only let down by its age, needs to be refurbished.
Friendly staff who let us check in early when we arrived. Nice location near Roath Park and not too far walk from town or a cheap taxi ride. Very clean toilet and shower facilities.
Recieved a paur of sheets which were badly stained, but received new ones quickly when we complained
The location near Roath Park, the staff was very nice and helpful, the hostel was clean and we had a lot of informations about buses and things to do.
The bedroom was quite noisy as we could hear the cars passing a lot and the train which is not the best to get rest.
Really liked the staff - especially Emma as she was very helpful!
Too many beds in one room!
This hostle is very clean and quiet just as i expected. And i met many great roomies.
On the advert said: there will be 4 beds in my room, but I was shocked. To see 8 beds in my room, which looked to be really unsafe! There were also 2 drunk people, sleeping in the room, who woke me up at 3:30am by shouting and talking laudly! The smallest movement on the beds would wake you up, since most of the beds were broken and made alot of sharp noises! The car park was full at 8pm so I had to park my car on the road which was absolutely unsafe, since there were no houses around the hotel! The hotel looks absolutely unsafe and I could not sleep at all the whole night!
Having to make up beds!
VALUE.. FAIRLY CLEAN.
DISABLED SHOWER U/S.
We all got our own beds and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking just outside was a bonus and got our own shower room because we were a large group. Close to the park and lake.
Quite a way from town but knew that when we booked so not a surprise.
very good value/had everything we needed and felt safe
several linen items were marked with old period stains. If they couldn't be cleaned thoroughly they should have been replaced
Staff were very friendly and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere about the building. It was quiet despite being fully booked.
Was a wee bit of a journey from where everything was going on.
Location was perfect!
The other guests!
The staff were very helpful and accomodating.
The fitted sheet I was given did not quite fit my mattress.
Great value for money Very safe Confortable bunk beds Good cleanliness
No 24 hours bar available
Parking place to small
Very hot. Window stuck open all night with heavy traffic noise and train track literally overhead shook the place every time a train went past so not much sleep was had due to it being stuffy and noisy but still, it was a cheap place to try and sleep :-)
