Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.
Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.
From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Center, shopping in Cardiff is fantastic. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants for a short rest or meal. Those by Cardiff Bay have particularly pleasant views.
Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Center. Another year 2,000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and soccer matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.
Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city center.

Cardiff is a friendly city with a compact city centre with plenty of shopping and a great selection of some truly outstanding bars. Great restaurants too. Well connected to London.
Great walking city. Plenty to see in the bay area too.

I'm biased because I'm Welsh and was born and brought up near & in Cardiff! It's a great city, with everything a tourist could want in the way of culture, sightseeing, history, attractions, amenities, shopping etc. Above all the people are generally really welcoming and friendly. There are so many interesting and diverse places to eat and drink in the center of the city, within easy walking distance but there are also many great places to visit within 30-60 minutes of Cardiff, on public transport.

Cardiff is a great city.
Cardiff is a great city. The compact layout makes it easy to explore. City centre is pedestrianised in parts which makes it a better experience. The indoor market is a wonder for foodies. Lots of good chains in general but also some great ones further out on City road. (Shaam Nights) Great to be able to get to the sea so quickly.

Always an absolute pleasure to spend a few days in Cardiff.
Always an absolute pleasure to spend a few days in Cardiff.
A sophisticated capital city with zesty character, big enough to be interesting, intimate enough to get your arms around.
The historic Victorian/Edwardian covered shopping arcades are a real pleasure e.g. Brogue Trader for fine gentleman's shoes where the Service itself was worth it as highly educational theatre. The authentic old-style pubs, like The Albany in Roath were a friendly treat. Similarly the Art Galleries like the Albany Gallery are ever-changing delights.
The Rugby was a magnificent occasion as ever. Casanova Restaurant is a hidden gem, and the food & Italian wines are magnificent.
Take a boat trip from the Castle Ground down to The Bay...a treat.

The Castle area of the City is lovely.
The Castle area of the City is lovely. Many shopping arcades and shopping Mall.
Beware of rugby match days! Tried to find somewhere for a meal, but cafes, bars and restaurants where packed due to fans wanting to watch on TV!
Lovely room on the quieter side of the hotel. Easy walk to the Cardiff bay area and its attractions and nightlife. An approx 30 minute easy flat walk in to Cardiff city centre so could leave the car at the hotel to visit the parks, museums and castle - countless shops and the lovely historic market hall which was a highlight for us!! All staff we encountered at the hotel were lovely and the room was comfortable and clean on arrival.
The room was very clean, with new feeling bedding. Very comfortable bed. Friendly staff. I had to get to the bay and university buildings during my stay, so was an ideal midway location with a short 15-20 minute walk for both. Near to the city centre with plenty of food options (takeaway at the moment!). The parking was directly outside the hotel. Could help self to coffee from machine in main reception area.
This hostel is based right in the centre of Cardiff close to all of the Welsh capital's main attractions (other than Cardiff Bay but you can get the boat there from close by). Also, the staff were very friendly and the toilets/showers were clean. The hostel also has a cage underneath the bunk beds where you can store your belongings and keep them safe.
The area itself is beautiful, peaceful, clean and it is very close to the city centre and Cardiff Bay.
The hotel was very clean and modern. The hallways, stairs were bright and always had a nice fragrance. The kitchen was very spacious and meticulously clean. The room was comfy, the bed was big and firm; and the en-suite was clean and modern.
Lovely, comfortable flat with luxury touches. Secure parking a bonus.
Super clean bathrooms and bedrooms.
Perfect location for the pubs and restaurants in Cardiff bay and access to city centre.
Great communication with Sunshine stays, prompt response to queries and clear instructions about everything to know flat and apartment block.
We went to a gig at Cardiff Bay so the location was ideal for us, but it was also only a 10 minute cab to the city centre. The price we paid for the property was excellent and it was a very nice touch leaving a bottle of Prosecco for us on arrival. All the beds were very comfortable and we had plenty of space to go about our days.
It is a really nice hotel, in a very good location. The staff are super friendly and they even let us check-in earlier than the mentioned timings. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable, we slept really well there. We could easily catch a bus from the hotel (4-5 mins walk) to the city centre and Cardiff bay.
A great location for both the City Centre and Cardiff Bay with parking which was important to us for such a short stay. A spacious apartment on the first floor and the hosts gave very comprehensive and clear instructions as well as good communication regarding the property. Will certainly recommend and book again!
We had a brilliant stay - the Executive room was perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the swimming pool, sauna and steam and the excellent breakfast (especially the pancake machine!). We were also impressed with how much Cardiff has to offer - shops, crazy golf, the castle and the Bay. We will be back!
Great location opposite Cardiff Castle. Imposing public rooms and grand staircase. Comfortable room. Very good breakfast. Helpful reception staff. On-site (paid) parking. Walking distance to city centre shops and attractions. Ferry service back from Cardiff Bay stops in the nearby park.
The hotel is in the middle of both Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay so access to them both is great. The room was very clean and the sofa bed was double so a lot more comfortable for my son than other hotels we have stayed at. Super choice for breakfast in the morning.
Wonderful buffet breakfast! Beautiful views of CARDIFF life and the ever -changing structures of the old town.
Friendly people. Architectures that were so beautiful. The bay and castle are must-sees.
A changing city with big ideas. Very busy place.
Great location. The hotel was about midway between Cardiff City centre and The Bay. Quiet area . Great room with a small kitchen area, which meant it was more like a home from home. Breakfast was included, which was a buffet with plenty of choice.
The property is situated at an excellent location in the Cardiff Bay area with easy exit to M4 to travel to beautiful nearby places. The Future Inn itself is a nice place to stay with excellent food option located nearby and ample of parking.
The location is perfect for trip to Cardiff, very walkable distance to the castle and city centre. Very smooth checking in, kettle, tea and coffee available in the room which was nice. We very much enjoyed it for a short stay.
Great location with amazing views over Cardiff Bay and the Bristol Channel in the distance. The room was a good size and nicely appointed. The hotel bar had a lovely vibe. But it's really the views that make this hotel.
The apartment was beautiful with a stunning view over the river. It was ideally located - just a ten minute walk to Cardiff Bay and a 25 min walk to the city centre. It was a quiet location which felt safe and secure
