“ Ben and Katie who were running the hostel are amazing. They're both so accommodating, very hard working and friendly. I would recommend staying just to meet them. The location is beautiful too, fantastic for access to the mountains. ”

With a bar and spectacular views, it is just 1 mile from Coniston village centre. The guest lounge offers a TV, board games, and a library. Amazing location and friendly staff, great lounge with games and lovely homemade cakes. Views really made it special and the staff were so helpful. Beds were standard youth hostel bunks so mattress not the best.

Owner was lovely, location was unique, clean facilities. It's quite a long way uphill from Coniston (about 2 km I guess), which is rather unpleasant if you arrive in Coniston after a long walk. The hostel is quite spartan as well, though clean.

Extremely good value basic accommodation. Staff friendly and helpful food homely and aplenty. For the price there is nothing to criticise.
