Good Value for money and clean site

no wifi :(

Having a key and combination as soon as I had paid and registered. the proximity to beautiful walks and south downs way, and views the kitchen looked well equipped, tho I did not need that facility

Lack of air in the bedroom and lounge, though warm. The noise of the automatic airconditioning in the bedroom from the bathrooms.

I loved the fact that it was nearly at the top of a beautiful hill with fantastic views, yet a short walk from Old town eastbourne where I could buy anything I needed at Waitrose and go for a lovely coffee in the morning.

Friendly and efficient staff. When I arrived after a hard, strenuous day's walking of some twenty miles in very hot conditions and feeling very tired the lass on reception was most kind, very helpful and I am most grateful for her assistance. Please give her my thanks.

Lack of internet

The bedroom was not comfortable. The bed was an iron bunk bed which was dangerous for my six year old child. The receptionist told me to put the mattress on the floor so that I can sleep with my son as the upper level was not suitable for my child. I asked to be moved to another bedroom with a double bed and even paid extra but she said there's was none. I was uncomfortable as I've got arthritis and lower back pain and couldn't sleep at all. It was a nightmare and will never recommend YHA to anyone.

The best YHA I've ever stayed at in terms of cleanliness, facilities and value for money.

The staff was really friendly and they helped us a lot. The place was easy to get to, by the road between town centre and the amazing coastline sights.

Good facilities and location.

Our 6 bed dorm was unbearably hot with little ventilation and did not make for a good night's sleep.

The fresh communal sitting room. Encountering people as a Canadian young granny bicycling through Parts of England and France.

Check in 17.00 if you don't have a car, distance to Eastbourne.

Wonderfully friendly host made us feel at home and even lent us here beloved hiking map for our day walk! Beautiful surroundings - a wonderful base for exploring the coast & the South Downs.

Well equipped kitchen and helpful staff. A bus stop is right in front of the house.

Ensuite bathroom with the automatic light switching off while being in the shower and a lack of more toilets and sinks. It is up a hill almost 30 minutes from the town center and for 20 pounds not even a towel was included.

Alles was te nieuw, geen gezelligheid. Gezamelijke ruimte te vergelijken met een ziekenhuis wachtkamer.

Cuisine très bien équipée. Hébergement en dehors de la ville mais proche d'un supermarché. Salle de bain et wc dans la chambre.

Très proche de la route : surveillance imposée pour les petits enfants.

Poor drying and washroom facilities

Friendly and helpful staff. Interesting guests. Warm, clean and inviting rooms. Good kitchen and lounge facilities. Good location between town and downs.

Next trip I might go for a room rather than the dormitory option. I would stay again though without hesitation.

Close to city centre

A bit difficult to find. Post code not precise. Took a lot of calling, directions and frustration!

Right on the South Downs Way

Yha messed up the booking - booked 2 people for 2 nights, on arrival got told there had been an error and we only had 2 people for 1 night. Was offered alternative accommodation in other yha 10 miles away - but Booked Eastborne for a reason and had to find alternative myself.

It is unpretentious, clean and friendly. All kinds of people stay there.

The showers run for 30 seconds at a time so you have to keep pushing the button before the 230 seconds is up!

The location is beautiful and the staff were great - really helpful.

Far too crammed in and felt like a prison - which is such a shame as its in such a great spot.
