We prefer paying a little more for a bit more luxury
The room was warm, Plenty of clean linen,Large Room,Quiet Nights Sleep . Brilliant calm atmosphere throughout the hostel. Staff were polite and very helpful.
could be cleaner
The view is amazing. Friendly staff. Great food great value.
Friendly staff. Good kitchen facilities.
Excellent value and location
Wasn't keen on breakfast and rooms could have been a bit cleaner but it wouldn't put me off returning
The staff was very nice and the facilities were clean and nice. Our beds were comfortable and the showers and toilets were clean. I cannot ask for more. Inaddition the landscapes are absolutely great, so, although brief, I really enjoy my stay there.
I didn't like that there was no microwave or kitchen facilities open for us to use when we got there in the night
Staff Food - superb Location stunning
More information on bedding in Pods Disnt realise there is no beds!
Views and breakfast and cosy pod cabin
Wish we had took a torch for the evening
Great lodge with views across the valley and the next days walk.
Being at the top of a hill just outside Reeth, it did mean a small detour to the top of hill
Location Good facilities Helpful staff
YHA sausages are cheap and unpleasant , not just Grinton but seemingly all YHA Hostels Miserly approval of wi-fi , had to be done apparently via tel call to Head Office , this is not what the customer wants !
The pods were great! Friendly staff. Don't hesitate to book a stay here!
The pay phone wasn't working and there was a battery missing from the CO2 alarm.
Stunning scenery. Use of hostel facilities as we had booked a camping pod. Breakfast good value. Helpful/polite staff. Overall good facilities
The camping washroom facilities. 2 showers one very poor drainage Couldn't dress in the cubicle after as floor floating in good few inches of water. Generally clean.
Showers were excellent and clean as were the toilets The Receptionist in particular was very helpful.
Reception doesn't open till 5pm. Shared bunk room experience inevitably is dependent on who you share with - I was lucky.
We initially booked the pod as a stay over for a visit to a nearby attraction, but as soon as we saw the location, which was stunning, the pods and the facilities, it soon became the highlight of our trip! Would definately stay again and would certainly consider a YHA hostel in the future.
Nothing at all!!
Playground Views Food You've finally got rid of the jack rabbit red wine.
Check in not till 5 and always chaotic ( why not put registration cards outside reception to speed this up ) Roller blind in pod 2 and curtains in pod 4 STILL missing. Hot breakfast cleared by 9.10
very helpful staff, spacious room, comfy beds, beautiful location
unpleasant smell in the kitchen, just one kettle
The area is fantastic for walking and cycling. The hostel has a very friendly atmosphere and buzz. The staff were always very helpful. Individual lights and sockets by bunks and sensor lighting for toilets a real boon.
The self-catering kitchen seems tiny for the amount of people using it, lack of cutlery and dishes at times and more storage and fridge space would be ideal...but hey, you manage with what you are faced with and it is no big deal ;)
The only thing I would suggest changing is breakfast it was mental maybe do it in 20 minute time slots no where to sit for breakfast the dining area was rammed! Standing with a plate looking for seat not great! Our group couldn't get seated together we were sat one here, one over there next to other travellers! :0(
Hannah on the front desk was SO helpful and pleasant. Sitting room is really lovely.
Public rooms Breakfast Staff attitude Playground
Kitchen Need a second microwave and kettle Floor greasy and very slippy Pod had no key and no blind so kids up at 5.30 am Jack rabbit wine
Beautiful views. Didn't have long to stay but served its purpose
Camping pod was a new experience, children loved it.
Wasn't obvious needed own sleeping bags and bedroll from the booking.com website.
Fabulous location, high up on moorland road among stunning scenery. I had no transport so bracing, healthy walk with camping gear! Ultra modern cooking kitchen & showers.Staff approachable, helpful & great fun! Buffet breakfast delicious & a bargain! Been hiking & horse riding over these moors for years, but a 1st at the YHA. Love to go back every month till Xmas but booked up already. Will keep trying! Happy Hostelling!
Stayed in clean, large unique pod with great heating but little lighting. Ceiling lights not installed? Feel pod too expensive for what it is. Surprised 15 sheep in ' pod park ' (fighting each other and chasing me too!) as cattle grid at main entrance? Need gate to small pod area too please!
atmosphere - very pleasant. good cleanliness, bed - very comfy, nice bedding too.
man in reception seemed reluctant to stop talking to someone, also in reception, to deal with me.
