bedroom did not smell fresh on arrival
Staff really went out of their way to be helpful and the hostel was homely and comfortable.
Car parking is rather limited.
Staff was very helpful and informative. Wonderful location.
clean and fairly spacious room. shared bathroom. great breakfast. nice staff. good location for the local pubs and restaurants. good location for walkers/bikers.
lack of sufficient space for parking although found some on the road nearby. bit noisy in terms of the room we had as there was staff living accommodation above us and we got woken up by movement up stairs.
The setting, tranquility and friendliness of fellow travellers and staff made my one night escape a hugely refreshing experience.
The beds were clean & comfortable, showers and toilets were clean and the cooked breakfast was excellant value for money
The parking was very limited, and as we had travellled along way (from Bristol)we would have really appreciated being able to book in earlier than 5pm. We have older teenagers but we were with families with young children who kept us up in the night with crying
The staff were welcoming and helpful. Had a good breakfast Have stayed in hotels that have not had the same standard of cleanliness The grade for the quality of sleep was due to how I sleep in strange places not a reflection on the beds as the mattresses were of a good quality.
Would have been advantageous if it had wifi especially with the amount of international guests staying there The drying room could be improved
Room was really quiet Room and bedding were very clean Very reasonably priced for a private room Central to village
Toilet was downstairs Lounge area was small and dominated by other people so we didn't feel comfortable taking kids in there
location, staff, guests, facilities (shared areas such as kitchen, lounge), garden
car park, heat in rooms (very hot weather nothing could have been done)
Good location, friendly staff, clean facilities.
The amazon rain forest was cooler and less humid than our 6 bedded room. No facilities in separate annex so couldn't get a drink of water in night. However, the drink was my fault and the weather was extremely hot so not the youth hostels fault.
MORE PLACES FOR PARKING CARS GOOD
The helpful friendly staff Clean roomy accommodation Ease of location for glorious country walking Comfortable easy style of the hostel Very comfortable beds
Over cramped dining room with unusual chairs which were difficult to sit at table & move past other diners Showers need an ungraded & water only just hot enough Carpets in hallways need an upgrade
Breakfast Opportunity to meet other travellers
Location is excellent; level of cleanliness and decor is very good; and the bedding is new and much appreciated. Overall the atmosphere and ambience was lovely and very conducive for all. Clearly the staff play a great part in this.
Not enough storage space in kitchen to keep food off worktops/in fridge as required. Perhaps the pricing level of cooked food was too high compared with that of the overnight. There seemed to be few takers which is likely to be a good indicator of this.
Friendliness of the staff. Kitchen was clean.
Parking isn't too easy, but that's not the fault of the hostel! There is more parking nearby which is easy to find in daylight.
Easy going, good clean value for money accommodation
i booked hotel room but never turned since i did not know the direction well and nobody was ready to guide me .The staff on phone was only concerned that i was likely to miss the room since i was extremly late past 10.30PM
Friendly staff, clean and comfy room and bed. Nice hot showers.
Parking difficult when hostel busy.
It's a lovely building in a convenient and beautiful Peaks location. Everything was very clean and well-organised. The shower was impressively good! Friendly, helpful staff and a great breakfast.
Parking was a bit problematic and closeness to the main road means that there's a bit of noise. The evening meal was good value but dull. All very minor compared with the good stuff.
Very clean hostel. Comfy beds. Decent sized rooms. Lovely hot showers. Excellent location. Helpful staff. Tasty breakfast.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Good breakfast. Easy check in/out
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location is amazing and was a great base for lovely walks. Service was friendly. Rooms and facilities were comfortable and very clean (the water pressure in the showers was awesome and better than home).
The volunteer that was there at the time of check in was VERY helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. There were two specific occasions where he went beyond what was necessary to look after our needs! One of these occasions was when we needed some soap and so asked if he knew where a shop was to get some and he came to our room and GAVE us a bottle to use instead of us going having to go to the shop.
The location is excellent, I booked a bed in a dormitory, the price was very good, the room and the shared bathroom was very tidy. If you just need a bed, I strongly recommend you.
Parking. On booking.com they said, there is a parking place, and don't need a reservation, what is true, but only about 6 cars can park there. I had no space to park, so i did it on the main road, where you can park for free from Monday to Sunday from 6pm to 8am, from 8am to 6pm only 40 minutes.
